My whole body feels bruised after the drink. What is this? Inner thighs, arms, stomach, I can barely get up from the bed.
Hi all, having experienced this for several years, and having also had nothing definitive from my doctor I have now resolved it for myself. I thought about what could make the skin sore and therefore figured it would have to be blood related. So I spent some time researching what vitamins and minerals are depleted when drinking alcohol and one of the answers was vitamin B. Turns out Vitamin B is responsible for creating red blood cells and transporting oxygen around the body which is vital for healthy functioning of organs (as well as other things). So I now take vitamin B before I drink, when I finish drinking and then the day after drinking and I have not had the bruised feeling since. I used to get it the exact same way some of you have described - 18 - 24hrs after drinking, starts in the abdomen where the organs are and then spreads all round the body. Vitamin B folks - hopefully it helps someone here!
I feel bruise after drinking ale.
It's the way your body reacts to certain alcohol.

Did you ever figure out what this is?? I have been experiencing this and found this post that shows I am not alone!!
Has anyone gotten answers on this? I too get this and it's been getting worse as I get older!
Hi!! Did you ever find out anything about this? I get it too and its getting progressively more noticeable!
Same story here. 27/Male. Sore skin/fat in my torso, shoulders, chest/nipples.
I'm pretty sure its not abnormal because I can find all sorts of posts all over about it but no real answers. Its likely due to dehydration and inflammation. Honestly, we should all probably cut back on the drinking. This can't be healthy.

Please can anyone update me if they have found a logical reason for this? I started to experience the pain- tender skin usually from hip to collar bone but not limited to, sometimes my face arms legs can hurt too. And it doesn’t usually depend on how much I drink, it can happen after 4 drinks the same as after much more!!
I try to explain to people but they just think I’m mad or being a hypochondriac. But it is sometimes unbearable!
The only solution I see is to stop drinking all together
I am F 30 years old. Fitness instructor and eat very well

I have had this for years and know a few others that have it. It for me also starts roughly 24 hours after starting drinking, if I party on Saturday night, from Sunday 6pm until Monday 6pm I feel as thought my entire torso is bruised black and blue, it’s painful to wear my backpack, I have to take ibuprofen all day, I hate Mondays. If you were to softly press anywhere on my torso, especially rib area I would be in agony. I have no idea what it is after scrolling on the internet for hours and asking my doctors friends. I think it might be something to do with how alcohol affects the breakdown of lactic acid? Or some inflammation thing BUT there are the odd few times it doesn’t happen and if only I knew what I did differently on those occasions. Anyway, I feel ya pain bro and it’s Sunday afternoon now so my time is coming.
I have this same problem. My entire body feels very sore all over the next day, as if i am covered in bruises.
I generally do not drink. I might have 1 drink every 6 months ... It still happens. 30s white female. Started happening in my late 20s.

I have this same thing happen when I drink heavily. Starts on my chest and then up my neck and then further down my torso.
Someone mentioned way back in this forum that they don't drink water. I am shockingly bad at drinking water, most days not drinking a drop till I get home from work! (5.30pm) Is this something other people do?
Also it mainly happens with lots of red wine.
Thanks
