You are right on. It sounds like a stupid thing to pin all these symptoms on but I concur with your response. I have lived with all these symptoms for 20 plus years and tried cutting all different things out of my diet to no avail. I have thought for years that if I could change my breathing pattern and habits, symptoms would melt away. It just seems too easy...... but when you live so long like this, it is so engrained that it is very difficult to learn to breath again. No medication can help this. You have to make a concerted effort to get yourself to relax and the breathing will come with it. I have been trying for three years to change these habits......... Not Easy and still very much a work in progress. Tony31, it is nice to hear that someone else thinks outside the box. People over think everything in todays world and always reach for the quick fix. I have told people close to me about how the way I breath makes me feel like c**p and no ones takes me serious. -chris

Hello everyone, I have a few possible causes for you all. I too have all the same symptoms. And have been through the ringer! But some stuff is starting to surface. 1. Celiac! This is an allergy to gluten. You say you drink a lot, and that your symptoms worsen upon eating, well gluten is in everything, especially in beer! Be warned that the blood test for a gluten allergy is almost never accurate and a biopsy is the only true way to be tested. Gluten causes bloating, gas, shortness of breath and light headed feelings if your allergic to it. 2. I'm about to have a nuclear stomach emptying eval. Basically my stomach might not be emptying at the rate it's suppose to. To fast or too slow, both cause the same symptoms. 3. Hiatal hernia. Look it up. I'm also interested to know if any of you are "mouth breathers". Meaning you rarely use just your nose to breath, your mouth is open more than usual, etc. Let me know

Hello,
Sorry to hear that you are having so many problems. I have a daughter that has had the same symptoms since she was about 6 years old. Went to many doctors and had many tests. We stumbled on the solution when she got into some fiber bars and had eaten to many. She had 5 bowel movements the first day and 2-3 for the next 3 days. Almost all her symptoms went away and she started to eat again and maintain a healthy weight. She now eats one fiber bar a day and is very regular . Turns out that although she had a bowel movement every day, It was incomplete and would build up in her system causing many problems. Many people have this issue and don't know it. She is now in high school and doing great. The doctors never looked at incomplete bowel movements as a problem and to this day I don't understand how this was not the first place to start. Also drink plenty of water during the day to keep thing moving. Fiber bars with 9 grams of fiber will work the best to keep. I hope this helps. Good luck.

Hope everyone here posted found some sort of relief on this. I am having same problem and besides taking stomach med. I am drinking fennel tea with raw ginger slices, that helps a lot, also if gets really really bad that I can't breath that time, I take really big breath ,hold a few seconds and let it go, doing this for a while helps me a lot especially on the lightheadness. You can check with fennel tea and ginger interactions with your medications you are taking, but it does help me a lot..

I told my chiropractor a few of my symptons and she told me I had a yeast build-up. Went home and researched the yeast thing and found so many corelations that I was floored; food intolerances, bloating, light headedness, headaches, insomnia, chemical sensitivity and so on. The problem, of course, is it is a very difficult diet to follow. Do you know how many things have yeast in them? Anyway, anyone else have similar problems?

I have had to deal with air trapped in me that would make me think I was having a heart attack or that something horrible was going on in me for years. It started with intestinal bloating and back pain then with horrible chest pressure and pain. Lots and lots of burping would relieve the pain from the air pressure but often it would not come out and it would cause a panic attack. How I was able to figure out the causes was by going on a Elimination Diet. When I started cutting out possible food causes I ate more and more rice because it's listed as safe, "except" if its not safe for you, which for me it wasn't. I never thought rice would cause me problems but eating nothing but rice I got worse. A food journal needs to be kept listing everything eaten and drank as well as your feeling at the time. When you have a bunch of air to burp out you need to look at what you at the PREVIOUS day. For me it takes 3 days for food to pass through me and its the second day that creates the most gas in my small intestine. Drinking water can help move the air out but it is not the cause of the air. Others here have tried to link marijuana as a possible cause but I've found that taking something that relaxes yourself helps the air come out. Marijuana or alcohol will likely cause a lot of burping but its revealing it at the time not causing it. While long term or heavy use of alcohol may be a cause or partial cause of this air producing problem I've found it to be able to relieve the pressure at the time. Wheat or something in wheat may also be a problem but what I've learned from this time consuming and painful experiment is that everyone is different and YOU must find out what YOU can and can't eat. What made the process for me such a pain is that it may take weeks for a food to build up the air in your intestine to the point there is too much to be absorbed and must be burped out. My advice is to go by how your belly appears in reaction to the food you ate the previous day. This is not an easy thing to do as I have learned that about 90% of the time we blame the wrong food or drink because it takes almost a day before it starts making you gassy. Most likely it's the food you eat but If you would like to replenish your gut with probiotics (good bacteria) I'd recommend making your own kombucha tea or fermenting your own sauerkraut. BTW I've been a heavy internet user for over 20 years and this is the first time I've given back and that's only because I know what a big deal this is and how horrible it makes your life and wish I could have read this post years ago!

Another note: Most doctors know nothing about diet because diet effects everyone differently. They are not Nutritionists and if it's not an allergic reaction they don't know what foods are doing to you!

Mine just only started, doctors were saying it's anxiety, but you don't feel lightheaded for days on end, and when I try to burp I can't

Have you ever try cleansing. Changing your diet can help too. There are smoothie recipe that can help you with your symptom condition. Doing drugs such as drinking alcohol and smoking etc... Can make things worse. ( I don't know if you do these things, but I needed to let you know). Change your diet. Exercises, eat healthy, and drink plenty of water. Many people don't like to drink water because it has no taste or maybe because they feel nausea when they drink water. I say water will be your bestfriend because it will flush away impurity. You could even buy flavor water that has no sugar to start you off. Do your research. Go to you tube and search for recipe on how to heal your problem. I know ginger can make your headache go away and papaya cleanse your stomach. Mint also help control acidity. Keep doing your research until you find your answer. ( you tube: top 10 home remedies to cure Acidity ) I pray this gave you hope. Be bless.

Hi all,
I know this thread is super old, but I just came across it. I've been experiencing the same issues for a couple years now. I'm 29 and female and I've had plenty of blood tests and x-rays done with the end result being diagnosed with IBS. I was having the most difficult at night not being able to lay down all the way because it would make me feel nauseous and uncomfortable. The nausea was weird though because it wasn't coming from my stomach, it felt lower (intestines). Later I realized I developed an intolerance to dairy. However, I am still experiencing the lightheadedness, difficulty burping or getting relief from burping and anxiousness. I've experimented in the last couple days and have found relief following an anti-inflammatory diet. I believe the inflammation in my body has made it difficult for oxygen to get where it needs to be causing the lightheadedness. I have cut down on how much coffee I drink in the morning to about half a cup and I drink cold water before and after the coffee. This has helped me tremendously in the mornings. I used to feel almost dizzy in class and constantly fidgeting because I needed to burp, but couldn't. The last two days I've felt perfectly fine. For the night time when I'm not feeling well, I use peppermint essential oil and rub it on my stomach. I mix it equal parts with apricot kernel oil to dilute the peppermint, as it's too strong to place directly on the skin (4 drops peppermint, 4 drops apricot). This does WONDERS for nausea. Alcohol is definitely another trigger for me, mostly beer and red wine. I try to avoid both, especially when eating & drinking. some of my favorite foods to eat with anti-inflammatory benefits are avocados, salmon, almonds, walnuts, whole grain foods, basil, tomatoes, tofu, soybeans, spinach, green beans, bell peppers, squash, and blueberries. Also, anytime I really want to eat dairy I just take the lactase enzyme pills. Hope this helps someone out there! I struggled trying to figure out what works for me, but everyone is different.
