hello, I am a 32 years old female and I have been suffering from buzzing sensation in the head for over 3 months now. I also feel a flickering all over my body ( back, legs, arms) but mostly in the head. I have seen a nuerologist, MRI,MRA,MRV, results are normal. I was also reffered to an ENT because before all these symtoms started 4 months ago I had a nasal congestion and when I tried to blow the mucus out, I became very dizzy, felt like the wall was spinning for a few seconds. Since then I had foggy vision for 2 months. My vision eventually better after a few months but the buzzing sensation in my head has not gone away. feels like its gotten worst because now I also have flickering and pulsing sensation all over my body mostly in my head. I have seen almost all type of specialist but cant seem to find whats causing the problem. The back of my neck has been hurting also and I do hear a sound more like a sizzling sound, not sure if its coming from neck, throat or ear but these feeling are very disturbing. I feel like I had developed anxiety because its been going on for a while now and still cannot rule out whats causing it. Please help if you have an idea, thank you in advance!

hi Everyone hope this helps you's all, i do believe that what we are suffering from is tinnitus,Tinnitus can affect different people in different ways. Some people are only mildly affected while others are severely affected. Some people with tinnitus are more sensitive to everyday sounds than others. For example, a person with tinnitus may find a radio or television painfully loud when it is at a normal volume for most people. This is known as hyperacusis. If you have tinnitus, it may be more noticeable at certain times or in certain situations. For example, if you have mild tinnitus, you are more likely to notice it when you are in quiet places because noisy environments can mask the sounds. Some cases of tinnitus may also be related to your posture. For example, you may experience sounds when you are lying or sitting down or when you turn your head. After these types of movements, pressure changes in your nerves, muscles or blood vessels may affect the noises associated with tinnitus.Types of tinnitusMost tinnitus is perceived as a high-pitched sound such as hissing, whistling or buzzing. There are, however, some other forms of tinnitus. For some people, tinnitus can be a low-frequency noise, such as humming, murmuring, rumbling or deep droning. Other people with tinnitus experience musical hallucinations, where they repeatedly hear musical tunes or songs in their head. These less common types of tinnitus are described in more detail below.Low-frequency noisePeople who constantly hear low-frequency noise often think it is coming from an external source rather than from inside their head or ears.

The buzzing and flickering for me might be vertigo. I am not sure, but that's what my doctor thought. I also had the dizziness and I felt like I was off balance that happened when I was sick and coughing really hard. Some days I wake up and just feel fuzzy all day. This has been going on for years. A therapist thought it was depression because depression does bring about similar feelings. Frankly, I do not know. But I have only taken the vertigo pills twice and I decided that I need to take them whenever I feel this way. It's the only way I'll find out it is, or rule out, vertigo. Get back to me if you can about your situation. I'm 64, by the way.
Have you ever asked your doctor about menieres disease your symtoms sound about right.
I also have been having the buzzing in my head. kind of feels/sounds like a short circuit. Sometimes after awhile my eyes and lips start twitching. It is very disturbing like you say. In my case I do have Multiple Sclerosis. But my doctor always me feel like I am making this stuff up which is very irritating. Just wish I knew what it was.
Hello everyone,
I truly hope you've found answers and solutions by now. I can relate to virtually everything that has been said here, and more. I have found answers that have enabled me to move past these things and I wish to share them with you.
About 5 years ago I was married, and about 3 years ago I found myself in the middle of the worst marriage ever. This point in my life caused me to be a totally different person than I was. It was hard to see at the time, but I wasn't dealing with things that I should have been dealing with. I wasn't listening to my body and the stress was taking its toll.
The first health problems (in a long line of health problems) occured about 6 months before I would be divorced. I was having mild headaches and sensitivity to light. This was followed by Tinnitus (ringing/plusing in the ears) and a sore neck. A few weeks later, this was accompanied with nasal problems and post-nasal drip. At the time I didn't make the connection between my stressful life, awful marriage, and my health problems. After I was divorced, these health problems didn't get any better. After living alone for several months I met a woman who completely took me by surprise, and for once in my life was completely happy. Shortly thereafter, out of nowhere and seemingly without reason, I had a mental breakdown. Added to my current health problems was now severe anxiety and panic. I did not understand what was happening to me. My body was constantly shaking; my stomach hurt all the time. I was completely taken over by the anxiety. I didn't sleep for a month and lost 40 pounds. This is when I started experiencing all of the symptoms mentioned in this forum. Body buzzing, brain zaps, waves of tingling flowing through my body that started and stopped at random, vertigo, rashes, flickers of light. It seemed impossible to stop.
I turned to Google and guess what...it made everything worse. Remember, people that are healthy, happy, and have no worries in life don't post and write articles on line about how great they are feeling. The internet is mainly reserved for people that have problems. For example, unhappy shoppers and people with illnesses that can't figure it out. What this does is exposes you to scary information that relates to a relatively small percentage of the population. It's like going to a party with negative pessimists and trying to be happy. You're in the wrong place! The internet will expose you to information about diseases and illnesses that you'd never heard about and, are extremely rare. Many of you have seen many doctors, had blood work, and had MRI's. So have I. It's always negative. But we still feel bad and still continue to research what's going on. Believe me, this will only make things worse. So, rule 1 is stop looking for answers.
So, look at my story. It makes sense now that I look back on it. I was an emotional wreck. Initially, my body was trying to tell me something, several times, in a gentle way. But, I ignored it. Sure, I went to the doctor but doctors don't treat the root cause, they only treat the symptoms. I didn't deal with the underlying problem. My defenses were up and I was hardened.
Then, I get divorced. Great! That's what I thought! I can finally be happy. I was treated poorly, cheated on, and the divorce was a healthy decision. Then I meet an amazing woman who defines what a perfect relationship should be. In my time of happiness I had a mental breakdown, and it now makes sense. My body gently warned me previously, but after I let my defenses down and met someone I loved and trusted, my body decided to let it all out. No more warnings.
Your body is smarter than you think. If you ignore it, it will take over for you. Think about passing out. You body will send you a message that lets you know it's time to lay down. If you ignore it, you body will say, "fine then, i'll force you to lay down!", and...you pass out. So, rule number 2 is learning to listen to your body, and obey it. It's hard in our society, in our overworked rushed lives. But you must try.
Here's the good part, and how I was able to overcome all of these problems.
Most of these health problems I believe are related to stress and anxiety. It's just because the sensations are not normal for you that you worry about them and seek answers. Our society needs to name these health problems, but I say don't worry about the name. It doesn't matter.
If you stub your toe, it hurts, right? Do you question that pain? Do you think something is terribly wrong? Do you search online for answers? Most people don't because they understand that if you stub your toe, it hurts. They also know it will get better soon. If you get the flu, and you feel ill, get a fever .. do you think, "what's wrong with me!!" do you panic and ask all your friends and family what's happening to you? NO. Everyone understands the flu and you just need to rest and it'll get better.
I would encourage you to visit a doctor if you're not feeling well and are worried, but for most people experiencing these issues all of the tests turn up negative.
The way to get over this, i know it sounds crazy, it to simply allow the feelings. The same way you do with the flu, or with stubbing your toe. Let them come. Notice the feelings, but don't worry about them. Think about how much more of an amazing person you are now that you've experienced something new! Don't think of experiences as positive or negative. They are simply experiences. Experiences allow us to grow. When you relaize that your body is telling you something, and you stop fearing it, you'll overcome these issues. So, rule 3 is to let it happen. This acceptance is what allowed me to overcome 95% of my problems. I’m still working on the remainder, but I don’t believe I have far to go.
Lastly, get rid of sugar, alcohol, processed foods and start exercising. Eat organic veggies and lean meats like chicken, tuna and fish. Drink a lot of water. Walk every day and follow an exercise program. You don't even need to spend money on it. Do burpies. You need to feed your body healthy food and give it exercise. Studies have shown that exercise can have the same effects and anti-anxiety and anti-depressant medications.
And before doing any of this, deal with any stress in your life.
I am not a doctor. Some of you might have a certain illness that needs to be dealt with. What I have said is only my experience and it gave me my life back. I wish everyone success and health.
I am 49 an have the buzzing too but it does not stop there. It came on like a toothache all around my mouth burning and stinging. Sometimes I get a shocking sensation in my mouth. Everyday has been a struggle an just like you every little noise especially a sharp sound sets it off. My neurologist said I have trigeminal Neuralgia. I am on two different nerve medicines now an if I try to skip any of them all hell breaks lose.
