Thanks for your add, can you tell us now about your current status, and what happened exactly after banding the hemorrhoids.
Any updates from the folks who got the hermorrhoids banded?
Well I had my hemhorrids, or at least some of them, banded on the 9th of December I also had a boxtox injection to treat an anal fissure. The last 4 or 5 days, and take into account when I say this that I had not had a single full blown erection in over two years since my doctor had not prescribed me viagra I have never been able to try that to see if it helps, but since the operation not only has using the toilet been easier but finally the last few days almost three weeks after the precedure I am starting to get erections again, erections that are strong enough to penetrate.
Things seem to be moving in the right direction now, I still have bad hemhorroids, but it seems that after having the worst ones banded and botox to treat a fissure that I am now getting a bit more blood to my penus. I am honestly not fabricating or exaggerating here for over two year I have not been able to get strong errections until recently I litterally had to physically stimulate my penus for minutes to get even a semi on and when I would ejaculate it was just dribbling out, now it is shooting out and the erections are pretty strong although I am only getting one or two a day at the minute it is still very good compared to what it was like. The size of my penus which had shrunk, now seems to be regaining some of its normal size again.
I really, honestly do believe these two issues are linked for a lot of men. Anything like a fiscula, fissure or bad hemmhorroids can trigger ED in my opinion. This is the worst health problem I have ever been through it has made me suicidal at times but finally I am seemingly on the mend and long may it improve and continue.
I thought I would share my account and I wish all of the best to anyone else suffering from this at the minute.
I have the same problem. I have suffered with persistent E.D. for the past 5 years now. The only potentially relevant correlation is that I have suffered with concurrent Haemorrhoids and Anal Fissures during the past 6 years also. My G.P. and E.D. specialist both insist the two are not related.
However, From my own personal experience and those of others on this forum, I believe it is not mere coincidence. There is a causal link between either Haemorrhoids/Fissures/Fistulas and E.D..
Also I recently stumbled upon an online medical journal article (The Anocavernosal Erectile Dysfunction Syndrome II Anal Fissure and Erectile Dysfunction, A. Shafik and O El-Sibai, Cairo University). I am hoping to take it with me next time I visit the Specialist. No doubt he will dismiss it as mere apocryphal.
I find it frustrating that in 2015 an ailment that has/is/will affect billions of men, such research/evidence etc. anecdotal or otherwise hasn't been further explored. Having read some of the above comments however, I'm definitely going to see my G.P. about having my Haemorrhoids and Fissures removed.
Thanks for the hope guys.
I searched and found this topic because of my experience with increased penile sensitivity and better more frequent erections after hemorrhoid surgery. I had the surgery for complex hemorroids about three weeks ago. I was getting more erections at night following the surgery despite the pain from the surgery and thought that was odd, but something seems to have been awakened in my groin from removal of the three large hemorrhoids I've had for many years. Last night I had sex with my wife for the first time since my surgery and I had the hardest erection I've had in twenty years. Something has changed and I was wondering if others experienced this too. What a great side effect. The surgery recovery was very painful but I got lots of oxycodone from the surgeon which really helped. I'm mostly pain free now. Bowel movements are a breeze. No straining, no mess with all that extra tissue gone down there. Just curious about why I have this renewed sensitivity in my penis after this surgery.
hi drfeelgood
i am from hyderabad, India 28yrs
after reading your post i too got some confidence because i m unmarried and facing ED.
3 years back while i was going to motion in bathroom it self i got sooo much burning at anus and i lost control over my body but some how i tried to control and i was set after 2-5 min and came out. from that time onwards gradully i found i m loosing erections.
later frequently when i m strained in work or fatigue after giving exercise to PC muscle i feel good.
when i touch anus i feel some bulging or balls like when strain or after motion.
please suggest me some doctor who can deal with this.
here in south india there are soo many pile clinics available almost in every main locality and on the other side homeopathy and ayurveda is there but untill i know is they are giving stimulants. etc for that only IBS & burning after motion is control 100% (with my personal experience) but i m looking for solution for my ED or impotence that raised since 2years due to the reason mentioned above.
thanking you
looking kindly for ur valuable solution..
So I think my next step is to see a gastroenterology specialist for an exam. Embarrassing, yes, but better that than not getting a strong, hard erection. So we'll see how that goes. Almost hopeful it's diagnosed as being associated with the rectum.
I hope reviving this wonderful thread. I have been following this thread for some time now and have read through the experiences of others suffering from hemorrhoids and ED. After carefully analysing all experiences and mapping my own to it I have concluded to the following hypothesis.
Complex internal prolapsing hemorrhoids, irrespective of being painfull or not, can abruptly hamper erection in some men by causing:
1- Blood flow circulation issues (weak erections)
2- Pudendal nerve impairment (loss in penile sensitivity and numbess)
3- Physical changes (weakening of external anus sphincter and penile bulb).
Reversal of hemorrhoids by surgical and nonsurgical (banding) could alleviate ED and improve erections. Few research based on population and statistics do compliment this theory. Please note that my hypothesis is solely based on experiences of others in this thread coupled with my own.
However, the limitation is that not all men experience a decline in erection process by developing hemorrhoids, which is very puzzling to me. Why is that not all men with hemorrhoids experience ED?
PS: I will be treating my hemorrhoids soon in a month or two and will update you all with my experience.
Best Regards,
AA
