Can i get chlamidia from anything but sex?

i got diagnosed with chlamydia today. im 19 years old. my bestfriend and i used to joke about it all the time weeks before leading up to my ob gyn appointment. i had an abnormal pap. so i had to go in again. they were worried i was showing signs of cervical cancer. everything showed up negative. except this time chlamydia was positive. im in a serious, what it seems like to me and what he claims to be serious relationship. we are looking at places to live together. and we are in love. im afraid he is going to think i cheated. i trust he hasnt cheated. but honestly, im afraid of what i might hear. but i want him to get checked. now that i know im infected. reading all these posts im confused. is there really other ways to catch this other then sex? because everyone is so all over the place. i need a final answer.

No u can't get chlamydia from the toilet seat u re****s..... all u people who think ur partners aren't cheating, tell them to stay out of the w**** houses in VEGAS! You could win the lottery before u catch chlamydia from anything other then any sexual activity. I've had sex with 137 girls, and 92 of them were unprotected... not to mention I've had anal intercourse with 16 different partners, always unprotected. The reason I'm posting is because one of my last partners has chlamydia and I just tested negative for it. I dont know what kind of trashy women or men u guys are having sex with but u need to find betters partners. There is something going on with this whole Doctor World. You guys make it seem like your the smartest of all, knowing that you were taught from someone else and it follows down the road. Information gets tossed around and things changed through out the years, yet most can't find a good Family PHD. Now on this topic, I personally believe you can contract this many ways, research needs to done better to have a better understanding, think about it everyone has different body chemistry, and you point this issue on only "cheating" or sexual intercourse is foul. Chlamydia is a "bacteria" a bad bacteria and there are so much other bad bacterias out there, who knows I am not a scientist and I don't know how these test are being done in the labs but it seems fishy.

I have read so much forums on people in a faithful relationship, let's say that it is really faithful married have kids family oriented been for years... how the hell can one person be tested positive and the other negative same doctor doing the test same lab doing the testing. HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE please answer me..someone and I would like a Doctor to answer if possible....and now they looking @ us saying you guys have to figure out whose unfaithful...when that isn't the case. This should show something in going on, you guys need to check your lab workers and make sure they are doing their job probably this is people's lives your playing with..so much stories are popping up about people being misdiagnosed for cancer and all these things, and they start getting worried, stressed and fear to come to find out they never had it...

this is why it is very very very important to get a 5th-10th opinion. Cause to me this doctor industry in a money making scam.
For me.. I was tested 3 months ago positive I got those antis and got my b/f to get them too..and we got retested and it was negative, we actually went back again together "a different doctor" and it was negative..this was the first case, no cheating happened and I am sure of it..(i had someone follow this guy where ever he went..P.I for over a year $$$$$)

I go back for my annual check up months later... and I'm testing positive again.. he goes and its negative.. like seriously?
I am really starting think there's many different ways to contract this.. for example herpers & cold sores same disease but different "complex" they call it.. ones from genetics I was told (cold sores) & the other through sex.. so why can't this be in the same boat..

Don't always trust a doc..they wear the white coats, and they go to school for years, and they "most" if not all get paid every time they prescribe a drug, so get tested again.

Chlamydia is only passed from anal,vaginal or oral sex not any other way otherwise so many more people would get it if it was through any other way and it is a STI not and STD there is a difference it's not a disease it's and infection which is treated with antibiotics gonorrhea is what you can get off toilet seats not chlamydia so people complaining how one hasn't done anything use are either lying or never been tested to know and found out late cause you had no signs

While I'd typically agree with you--science-lover that I am--what if you test positive and your only sexual partner tests negative multiple times? I've done the research, and, seriously, I'm still trying to figure out what the hell is going on. (Was a virgin when I met him.)

Apparently you people saying that it can only come from sex have not done much research at all.  Did you know that birds carry the disease and pass it through airboure means?  Seriously google Chlamydia in birds.

std. Well my wife was prego and somehow our now 5yrold daughter got the std. We have 6 children together and children and youth got involved

and ran test on all of our children. 2 more of my girls tested positive for chlamydia. My 3 girls spend alot of time together from taking bathes, 2

wearing the same underware. So now that 3 of my girls had this std children and youth are taking us to court because they dont believe our story

and they are saying we had sexual contact with our children. They have posted us on a national board of child abusers and are saying that our

children are unsafe in our house. The Dr. they are using is saying there is no other wat that children can get an std other than sexual contact. I

thats actually incorrect! you can get it from not taking antibiotics correctly... maybe you should do research before stating facts

Okay look, I work at a hospital and I go to my GYN every six months and I am not stupid. I know this is an STD but I still have doubts due to my situation. I have all the paper work to prove all of this. The thing about chlamydia is that it is a bacteria. Why people even get certain things, or how certain things developed in this world is one big damn mystery anyway. No one can PROVE the why's. I hate when people assume someone cheated because in my situation, I have tested negative every time I got a pap, then out of nowhere all of a sudden in 2011 I got it. Now of course I blamed my boyfriend and damned him to hell and back because I know for a FACT I did not sleep with anyone. I am blunt as hell and if I did I would have been a woman about it because I would never EVER want someone to be sick on my account. That is disgusting!!! So he swore up and down he didn't do it and that I hurt him so bad so we decided to take a lie detector test. Come to find out we were both telling the truth about not having sex with anyone else. So um, I am positive there has to be another way to get this but Doctor's always just brush it off because it's not a serious disease like that. So I am sure no more research goes into it because it's probably a waste of time. All the say is take the medicine you'll be fine and shut up!
