ok a quick response, basically yes, you couldve carried it for ages and not known, this disease is called the silent disease because it usually shows no symptoms, even if you took a course of antibiotics years ago yes they probably eradicated it but then by that time she wouldve had it and gave it back again. Anyway both of you need to get treated and move on from this, get treated, do not have sex until you have ur results and get fully treated, I think its 1 week after treatment ends.I have never heard of the symptoms showing 3 weeks from initial infection but things like reoccurant bladder infections, thrush infections all can be chlamydia and all get treated go away but chlamydia still there. You need to both talk honestly and trust each other and ask the doctors these questions not base this on the internet opinions.If you both love and trust, well get treated and move on.
Now for example there is a case of a young girl (very young) who went to the doctor for an eye infection. As it turns out she was sexually assaulted then touched her genitals and rubbed her eyes. So yes although she had been infected via sex i think this shows that if it is immediate chlamydia can b transmitted with other contacts. why would this be possible if the only way to contract the disease is sexual activity; or why if this is possible would we not believe that say someone who is close to someone else would not be able to touch their infected genitals (lets say to scratch an itch) then pick something out of their friends mouth and transmit the disease? Lets go one step further after masturbating (as most even children do right, maybe not to completion but to get a little wetness on their hand) then they shake hands with someone who say picks their own teeth? i am not a doctor nor do i get anything from writing this i just am not sure what the truth is or what to believe myself.
Yes Andrew all very valid points but I have heard its sometimes seen in the eye, almost like a pink eye infection and if its swabbed turns out its chlamydia, so that person possible got body fluid of his/her own or somone elses and touched there own eye.Also if lets say a man has what looks like pink eye and its chlamydia and then has a cuddle with a woman or child even and some of that gets on that other persons face and into there eye or as you said then they have a scratch with it on the hand well yes again. All these are extremely remote, but possible. But as far as mouth to hand its not as likely unless sexually doing things from genital(infected) to mouth. Im pretty sure its not transmitted. Plus it has a short lifespan once on the surface, like a toilet seat it would be dry in minutes and dead. So best advice is get tested, get treated, forget who gave it to who and from where, then move on and always use protection, always wash hands after any contact. Basically if a person no longer trusts the partner because possibly they cheated well time to move on.
I was at a festival and I had to go to the bathroom very bad so I went and the toilet paper was out. I saw a cloth where people normally wipe their hands and wiped my vagina with it. Is it possible for me to get an std from this stupid mistake?
Not really an std but possibly an infection,usually that cloth your talking about people use to dry wet hands they just washed so I think your safe,in future always take tissues with you when ever you go out anywhere also that hand sanitiser is a good option to use on a tissue then to wipe a seat with before sitting on it. If you get any soreness, itch, discharge or odour go a doctor and get checked.

The most shocking finding was that out of the up to 12 different people who hadn't washed their hands after the using toilet 9 of the urine samples belonged to women.
I agree with you 200% i do not think there is enough evidence to support that chlamydia is on tranferrable via sexual contact. I am no doctor but i am not stupid either. How the hell would my test be positive and my husbands negative yet we have only been with each other. I am sick of people saying someone had to have been unfaitful. I know its easy to say i am being naive but this infection is a bacteria so until there is 100% evidence to show that there is no other way then i am not throwing my relationship away. I dont care what any MD says there are just too many discrepencies for me to believe in this.
The truth is no one here knows what they're talking about. They're just copying what they read on the internet, or in a medical book, what a doctor told them, or what a teacher told them in class. Unless you're the scientist actually and actively researching and conducting tests on exactly what ways a particular bacteria can spread, YOU DON'T KNOW. Every person who posted like they 100% knew the facts is an ignorant copycat.
That being said, bacteria is bacteria and you can avoid bacteria through proper personal hygiene standards (like washing hands, etc.) - that is all I know as I was once a chemistry major and greatly enjoyed my experiment/research driven studies.

As educated as you may try to sound, as a physician, you should never criticize your potential patients intelligence. Physicians are there to inform, help and possibly find treatment in whatever way possible each patient. Physicians state facts as you have, but they do not accuse or criticize, unless running potential clients out of the door is your motive. I may not know you or your practice, or lack there of, but maybe you should reconsider your stance on how you approach the public, as they are your means of living.
ok lets say you used the puplic toilet after someone ejaculated on the seat you sat on it and your penis made contact were he ejaculated you thought he was constipated but no he went on the toilet seat and my penis made contact doctor now say's I may have chlamydia I kwon my wife doesnt cheat and my either so how did I get it.
Without going into dramatic detail i got chlymidia from a sneeze to the face, i know for a fact. It all happened very fast and things happened after that which caused it. But it was not from sex, oral, or anal. And i understand the dramatic rarity this event could occur is 0.2% of the population.
However i have a question, i have had this before long ago, and now i have it again. So i know i have chlamydia. I dont need to get tested because thats a waste of time and money.
So.. if i take Doxycycline from my friend with "two perscriptions," Twice daily. Then i should be alright, right?
I dont believe i need that nasty antibiotic shot she got... and anywhere i look it up it suggests i only need Doxycycline. I just would like some confirmation that this is ALL i need. If taken as perscribed 8-|
Although its been sometime, i want to say thank you MD for this info. I got so tired and frustred by this ignorance. It feels like we live in the middle ages sometimes! Even Dr.'s behave in complete denial sometimes if you say i feel there is something wrong with my body etc. everybody thinks that it cannot be true that they have been cheated or mislead. And we end up putting our healt at risk, how sad to be ignorant and delusional!

This MD spoke descreetly, clearly and wiselly regarding the subject. Instead of insulting all of as, as being ingnorant and stupid. Which we are. Unless your unfaithful partner gives it to you there is no other way. Facts: if you are sensitive and in touch with your body, you will know in 2 days that there is something wrong with your reproductive organs. Fact: the sad part, dr.'s cannot treat you unless is proven by tests. Fact: blood test or pap or urine might not show positive for 2 weeks. Unless your partner is willing to do the tests you have to wait. Fact: the more you wait, the more you suffer and damage in your reproductive system is possible. Then, good luck...
