Can I get pregnant at 48 ?

At 48 your chances of your eggs producing a baby are not very good. You can however use donor eggs and produce a child because the age of your uterus has no bearing on the chances of pregnancy. You have until you turn 50 and after that I don't know of any clinics that will work with you. I say if you want a child at 48 go for it. It will be the best thing that ever happened to you. I had my first at 47 using donor eggs and he is absolutely the best part of my life.

I know a woman who had her first child at 40 and her third at 47. At the time, she was strong and healthy and all three boys were healthy and normal. I am 48 and I think I may be pregnant. Will be having test done soon.

Anoushka,I didn't get started until I was 41 but I had 8 IUI and 2 IVFs with my own eggs. None were successful. I understand you want someone who is your offspring, but trust when I say this. You will fall in love the moment you see your child, and the love you have for that person will know no difference in DNA. They steal your heart. I invested all I had and I am so grateful I did. He is hands down the best thing that life has given me or ever will.

Hi, I have 3 children ,one 20, one 15 and 6 . I had my last at 44 and am trying again, my grandmother had her last at 51 ! pretty normal then ,not spoken about .  good luck, just do it .

What difference does it make how old the mother is when the child is 21? At the age of 70 my mother was still very active, I was 29. Today she is 89 and still going and I am 48. It makes no difference. YOu must be very young your self to make such a naive statement.

Why does it matter so much to pow plié about a woman's age when she becomes pregnant? At 48 most women are smarter wealthier and have more patience. I am a 48 year old woman with 2 grownup sons, no natural grand kids and my family is thrilled about the new addition to our family! My husband and I can afford the best prenatal care something I couldn't afford with my first 2 sons. Also we can also afford to spend more time with our new baby.

I got pregnant naturally at 46 and gave birth at 47 great pregnancy and when had downs test even though they had said 1/80 chance came back as low risk 1/2800! so if you are still having periods then just go for it and hope all works out well best of luck to those out there trying. was the best thing i have ever done  

Elllie Lichty, My mother had me when she was 43 and my brother when he was 45. She is 88 years old and has lived to see my two children and my brothers two children. Why not have a child at 48? Just because a person is 50 doesn't mean they are useless. The desire to have a family doesn't go away no matter how many times you have tried and failed. And it can be extremely painful and heartbreaking. You gave a pretty rude and insensitive response to this post if you ask me.

I would like to get advise If any clinic or doctor exisit in Delhi, India where we are couple and so-far had no chance for my wife to conceive who is presently 47 years. Though I a still interested to have a baby even at the fagend of life as we have enough serivice left so that we can still bring child up.
