Can I get pregnant at 48 ?

Question

Ihave been pregnant before (in 1987 and 1989). I am ready to have a baby now (at 48) One (female) doctor has told me that I am TOO OLD. Horrible bedside manner. My blood test revealed that I have increased FSH and decreased estrogen. Does ths JUST mean that I need a shot(s) of estrogen. I sincerely want to have a baby.

I'm 48 with one child which I finally conceived after years of trying. Have been trying again ever since she was born 10 years ago but nothing. It's really hard as my sister in law had her 3rd health baby at 45 and my other sister in law who is 42 just announced she is pregnant for the second time. I though I was ok and over the worse of my negative feelings but it is so hard. I keep asking myself why me? I know I'm going to have to accept it and just move on with my life but it just seems so unfair......

To the why 12 vs 50 etc? I have a mom that had me at 46! She's great mom! Age never a issue!

I'm hoping for the same, as I'm 48 and trying to conceive naturally! I also look extremely young because I'm athletic. Most people think I'm around 30! I refuse to submit to IVF, so here I go trying again!

You meant 60 not 50, but who cares? I don't see anything wrong with wanting to conceive at 48 if you are healthy and still have the energy to keep up with the little selfish a-holes. Maybe you're too old to throw ball but you can share the wisdom you've gained through your life experiences. I know 3 people with old parents. All of them were accidents and have siblings over 20 years older than them and all of them are talented artists who still live with and take care of their parents.

You can get pregnant at 48. sometime infertility problems occurs but now today medical science also deal with that kind of issue also

Perhaps this person was asking a legitimate question. Many of you assumed the question was negative and insulting. Maybe it was just someone trying to understand the desire for a baby later in life. Don't be so quick to jump all over people.
