I was told that yes it can be giving by sex and they are treating my husband as well as me so if I was you then fallow threw with him being treated . It makes me upset and worried cause how do I know where or how this came about my husband won't tell me things and I just recently found out he HAD genital warts before I'm going to find out more but i hope this helps you and your post also helped me thank you

U are getting it from ur boyfriend who got it from another woman and it's stays in his sperm. I'll tell you how I know this because I remember I was dating this guy and the first time we had sex he gave it to me so I treated myself and then again we had sex and he gave it to me again so I forced him to go to the doctors and also get treated as I was getting treated and I never had it again from him they always say it's from Woman to Woman yes but men carry the bacteria in their sperm and they give it to you so don't let these doctors tell you any different because I'm living proof that if a man gets treated then it won't happen to you unless he's cheating and this is also true with yeast infections which I used to get from my boyfriend and again the doctors told me oh no he doesn't have you know it won't happen I'm like no but every time I have sex with him I'm getting a yeast infection again and again so I made him take a pill over-the-counter and never had it happen again so the doctors have no clue of what's really happening they're just telling us these things and it's just being transferring and forth back and forth back and forth because they're telling us men cannot give it to us and it's a lie

Absolutely he has to be treated it's coming from his semen and he has a bacteria storing it in there and he constantly keeps giving it to you trust and believe once he's treated it will not happen unless he cheats again and he got it from her

I am 58 and NRVER had BV in my life until I realized my bf of 8 years was cheating on me!
It is true that bacterial vaginosis in men can be one of the prominent causes of recurring bacterial vaginosis in females. When you read men cannot transfer BV to women, that is bad information! The male partner may carry traces of infections and transfer them to the women. If he does not go for any treatment for this, he can pass the infection to the woman again. In order to prevent this from happening, it is always better to indulge into safer sex practices. The use of condoms is advisable over any kind of contraceptive.

Same sh*t happens to me with my current bf I kept accusing him of cheating but honestly I don't think he is..it was so embarrassing n tiring explaining to the nurse every 2 or 3 months at kaiser about odor n what not so I stopped going to the doctor n just started buying garlic n just sticking a peeled garlic clove all the way in my vagina leave it overnight..remove it in the morning take your shower but never put your fingers inside n mind u, it will smell like garlic n be ridding the bacteria by u having a lot of discharge but the next day you will be good no more smell..this works for any std n bv

Yes, it can be your ph. My husband and I have been married for 23 years and I get BV all the time. I didn’t used to, but our body chemistry has changed. My doc checked me for every STD under the sun. She said she is married to a Marine and since my husband is military, SHE didn’t trust him.
Of course everything was normal. I then started seeing a specialist. He confirmed that it’s just our chemistry. He said male sperm has a much different ph from us. I can’t remember the numbers he told me now. He told me to use RePHresh a couple of days before sex and after washing after sex.

lol, "I disagree". You have the magical exception that disproves the decades of medical research by seasoned professionals from all over the medical world.

I too have suffered with this very unattractive problem. It was a change in partner, after 22 years married to the same man I never had the problem, divorced my husband and began seeing another man and I cannot sleep with him without having this reoccur every time. If I spend a week with him I have to come completely prepared to treat myself every single day or it will become a problem. My doctor has me on a standing prescription of metro when it gets too bad, but also has me rinse the inside of my vagina out every time we have sex with nine parts water one part hydrogen peroxide. It seems to keep it at bay. I lots of yogur if I spend a week with him I have to come completely prepared to treat myself every single day or it will become a problem. My doctor has me on a standing prescription of metro when it gets too bad, but also has me rinse the inside of my vagina out every time we have sex with nine parts water one part hydrogen peroxide. It seems to keep it at bay. I eat yogurt and do all the diet suggestions blah blah blah, I am also post menopausal so the idea of using a condom in a monogamous relationship is also something we would both rather not do. Usually if I have to go to the metro I only need to take it for a couple of days for it to clear up. But what a pain in the butt. I hate it so if anybody has any other suggestions I’m willing to try anything.

Hi! So I am in the same boat as you!! I get reoccurring BV like seriously every month. My old gynecologist never told me how I would be getting this all the time so I switched doctors. My current doctor told me that your partner CAN in fact be giving it back to you!! So my boyfriend took the same antibiotics as i did and I didn’t get it for months!! It is back again which is why I was even on here reading these. I am very prone to BV. There is also a pill you can take to prevent these after sex. You should ask your doctor!

He needs to be treated! Some physicians need another microbiology class!

Get him treated. They just want you to keep coming back. Have him take the pill and put metrogel on his penis and you do the same for 10 days. Do not have sex during this time. You will be cured.
