I have just started to use Aloe vera juice because I heard that it’s excellent for diabetes. Today I notice that I have rash on my hands. I suppose that it happened because I started to take that juice. But maybe I’m wrong. I’m wondering can you be allergic to Aloe vera?

Anything that contains protein - ANYTHING - can induce an allergic reaction. All plants contain some amounts of protein. Don't say "you can't"... There are "pure" substances made by G-d such as tobacco that make people really sick!
Can anyone tell me the list of different names aloe vera is listed on products. (the scientific names and compounds) seems aloe is in everything and is not easily identifiable.
i put aloe gel on my face and my face got itchy within a minute and at the night it got worst. and u say i cant be alergic to aloe?
Wrong. You absolutely can be alergic to Aloe. I have such a severe adverse reaction that contact to my skin has caused 2nd and 3rd degree chemical burns.
i havent put anything on my face. and i never got allergic from anything else. i eat vegetables. and fruits???? how un heallthy could that be?
I'm alllergic to aloe (and lavender.)  Eversince I was around 5 yrs old, my grandma had an aloe plant and she would share using that  plant with my mom for their skin and scalp, and even just smelling it and touching it, I had an immediate aversion to it..my hands would itch and the smell alone repelled me.  Fast forward 22 years later and I have the WORST sunburn behind my thighs and I put on sunburn aloe gel..Immediately the burning sensation was so excrutiating I almost started crying. My sunburn turned blood red, swelled up and felt so painful and itchy at the same time.  I was dumb enough to think that it was my sunburn and I must have gotten sun poisoning!! Now fast forward 2 years later- I splatter frying oil on my nose..guess what I put on it- that same aloe burn gel. My nose became so swollen and red in SECONDS.  Now smart ole' me finally makes the correlation- gawsh I hate ALOE.  It took weeks for my nose to heal even makeup was useless, my nose was fat swollen and sooo extremely red, I looked like a freak of nature.  (with lavender, I used to give my son a bath with lavender infused baby wash and my hands wouldn't stop tingling and I get a huge headache within minutes!)   ANyway, for a week now I've had pimple like grouping on my jawline and back of neck. I never get pimples like that- maybe one ot two at most every other month. I start thinking it's my sheets or maybe my hormones are off, but looking closely, they don't look like pimples up close at all.  I just looked at a few new products I started using which is John Frieda leave in conditioner and bingo! aloe extracts in it. I guess when I sleep on my side, my long hair settles at my sides and jawlines/neck.  Also, I have been getting an unusal type of neck pain and lower head pain every night..just out of nowhere.  I've been using this conditioner for about a month, but sometimes I skip days. Anyway, now that I thik aboyt it, my hands did tingle when I ran the conditioner through my hair, like a slight painful tingle similar to if you touched bleach or hair dye for long periods.  So I'm going to put some hydrocortisone and hopefully these pimply=like rashes will go soon! They are hideous and nasty!!!
wrong. You CAN be allergic to Aloe. I have had second to third degree chemical burns from using products that contain aloe, and have had bad reactions to it my whole life. According to what I've read, approximately 1% of the population has an adverse reaction to Aloe.
Poison ivy and belladonna are made by god.  One causes allergic reactions in nearly every human alive and one is flat out poison. Also, I'm allergic to aloe vera.
This needs to be removed. It has no bases in reality or truth. Just because it's "natural" or g*d made doesn't mean that you can't have a reaction to it. Otherwise, guest, Nightshade wouldn't be poisonous, arsenic wouldn't kill you and you couldn't drown in water.
I also developed this allergy when I was pregnant with my daughter. Also allergic to garlic, and very sensitve to onions and peppers. It is terrible, because aloe and garlic are in everything! When my daughter was a few months old, I got a terrible burn on my foot, and applied the aloe. Ended up at the hospital, and discovered the allergy. I have not been back to the hospital for it again because I am very careful. I make most of my own products myself, and have learned to cook EVERYTHING from scratch to avoid the garlic. Its tough, but worth it to avoid the bad reaction. Hey, at least I have learned to cook some good stuff, and it saves us a ton of money :) ps. wash your produce well, some grocery stores spray it with aloe to help keep it longer. That was a fun one to find out!
You need to know that there is naturally occurring arsenic in the apples that you consume. These things, consumed in large quantities, yes are very poisonous...but come on!
I have had facials a few times with lotions containing aloe, and had to jump off the table, with a seriously painful burn on my face, and hives everywhere! just tonight, I tried a delish orange juice and agave tequila drink....and was immediately dizzy after 3 sips, chills, nausea, heart palpitations, tongue swelling. I keep reading that they are not related. They must be! I'm fine after a dose of Benedryl, which makes me think it was definitely an allergic reaction...Although the placebo effect of taking it might render this argument mute...Anyone else have a problem with both?
god does NOT exist
well guest, you should do your research. of course ppl have allergies to "pure substances". i am allergic to aloe and almost every tree or plant i have been tested for except for a very few exceptions. an allergic reaction is usually a response to a protein in something. People can die from the tiniest bit of peanut protein. educate yourself before you state it as fact
I applied Aloe Vera gel on my really bad sunburn, courteous of my grandma wanting a green house, and now it burns and is some what num where I applied it. I'm never using Aloe Vera again, for all yous that want to treat a sunburn take a cool bath then use warm tea and dab it on your skin but don't wash it off keep it on and reapply then keep it on over night and in the morning take a cool shower and wash all the tea of gently, vinegar work too but I didn't want to smell funny so... hope you get better and never use Aloe Vera it sucks.
