I have just started to use Aloe vera juice because I heard that it’s excellent for diabetes. Today I notice that I have rash on my hands. I suppose that it happened because I started to take that juice. But maybe I’m wrong. I’m wondering can you be allergic to Aloe vera?

On june 5,2013 i was doing some triming of two overgrown (5 feet)aloa vera (or cacti) plants. As I was cleaning up the trimings from the ground and putting them in garbage bags,I felt stingingg and burning sensations all along my right arm.I rinsed the arm off with cold water and applied alcohol, creams, aloa vera, etc to get relief.I didn't know if maybe I had been bitten by a spider or insect. Never having this problem before ,I researched the internet and low and behold discovered that allergic reaction do occur with certain people coming in contact with the juices of this plant. I got relief but next morning my arm is covered with a rash (like baby rash)blood type is o.

The answer is "YES". I have been using Aloe Vera Gel in all types of products and never had an adverse reaction. I live in Florida on the beach. I was a beautiful day and I should have reapplied my sun screen when I exited the water, but of course I did not. I got some serious sunburn and I turned to my old faithful Aloe Vera gel. The product was high quality and I have used it for years. I applied like usual and about an hour later I began to itch. Thinking it was the sunburn I applied more to my face and back. I went to bed and the next morning I was covered with a swollen rash and it itched terribly. I could understand what could be causing this so I reviewed everything I did the night before. I thought, is this a heat rash? My wife took one look at me and said “We are going to the doctor”. I was apprehensive about it but she can be very convincing. The doctor took one look at me and gave me a shot of Cortisone. He asked why I had waited so long and I explained how I used Aloe Vera my whole life and never had a problem. He said “You do Now”. I was also place on a strict Prednisone regiment and couldn’t leave the house for days. It was the Aloe Vera doubters because I place pure Aloe Vera (from the plant itself)on my arm, a very small dab, and rubbed it on my arm and behold it got red. I had to do this to satisfy my own curiosity of disbelief. If you have a rash get to the doctor immediately. The life you save may be your own.
Hi,
People who have allergies to onions, garlic, or tulips may have a propensity towards an aloe vera allergy. As with many allergic skin reactions, treatment can include over-the-counter antihistamine medications.

My skin gl
ets super dry and flaky if I use aloe Vera.
I must have accidentally bought some soap with a bunch of aloe Vera in it because Im super dry right now skin wise. Especially "down south" if you know what I mean.:-(
My first realization of my allergy to Aloe Vera was about 17 yrs ago. I got y tongue pierced and on the care sheet it mentioned that you can use aloe on your tongue to help the healing. I had an aloe vera plant ( I had used it on minor cuts and scrapes previously and didn't clue in that the itching it caused there was due to an allergy) I took some of the fresh gel from the plant and rubbed it on my tongue. At first I had a numb tingly sensation which then turned to a burning itchy feeling and my tongue started to swell up like crazy. If it wasn't for the extra long barbell they put in new piercings I would have had to remove it right away since my tongue got so enlarged it was pulling on my barbell. I don't remember now how I got the swelling down but it did go away eventually. Funny thing was, right before I put the aloe on my tongue I joked with my roommate that if it kills me she needs to sue the peircer who gave me the care instructions lol.
Earlier this week I came down with a case of pink eye and instead of going to the dr. I thought I'd use some of the prescription medication I had around the house ( non expired) from my daughters eye infection earlier in the year. It wasn't making my eye better and the more I used it the worse my eye was getting. Today the 'pink eye' is pretty much gone but my lower eye lid is puffed up and swollen really badly. I realised and googled the medication and one of the non medical ingredience is aloe. I hand my husband run out today for some allergy medicine and hopefully it will calm down soon.
Just a warning to check even prescription medications that might contain aloe vera too, I never would have thought of it...
No matter what aloe Vera is in everything, it is the most highest level of medicine out there in pretty much every form of cacti and in majority of tree, grass, lots of food and food related products. Also anyone celebrate Christmas? Every form of Christmas tree has some aloe Vera in it, the whole concept of the onion thing with aloe Vera is not logical plus I'm allergic to onions but am not allergic at all to aloe Vera and when you buy things of medicine that say 100% aloe Vera is a bunch of bull, the ONLY way to get 100% pure aloe Vera is to crack open a aloe Vera cacti and apply directly to your skin and if you are truly allergic then within 5-10 minutes you would see a reaction because the medicine always has another ingredient in it besides alone except in that one instance with the cacti. In my opinion, if you are allergic to aloe Vera then you should become a bubble person because you're pretty much allergic to life.
How did you get rid of the pimples. I am having the same problem.
People in my family and i get really bad joint pain after drinking aloe vera juice. I've been trying to find anything on the internet about it but so far haven't found anything. Anybody know of this happening to anyone else?
this is over a year old, so I don know if anyone will see it. I have a mild aloe reaction, but my daughter, who is also very very pale (ginger), has a more severe reaction. When she got sunburned as a toddler, my ex slathered her up in aloe. She started screaming bloody murder & instantly there were blisters popping up all over! I washed it off of her, and treated her with the best thing you can ever do for a sunburn - NOXEMA ! Yes, Noxema- the white creamy facial cleanser. We ALWAYS have a jar in the fridge now. It pulls the burn out even faster when its cold!
Recently I start to consume aloe Vera after hearing all the benefits n my friends convincing me how it works for them.
My face starts to turn to severe red rashes with slight burning feeling with only 5ml of aloe.
At first I thought it was due to the mask I have just wash off . But I stop taking anyway for 3 weeks.
I took it again yesterday with 3 ml this time, no mask , after eating food. But the reaction is the same right after an hour , my face feels light burning with red rashes again .
I would not dare to risk to take again .
However, applying aloe Vera helps to reduce these rashes immediately.
Would anyone able to share whom could be allergy to aloe Vera when this is natural ?
