actually - they're probably "milia" - they occur when dead skin cells get trapped under the skin. gentle exfoliation should help them go away. they aren't harmful in any way - just cosmetically bothersome. be careful using any sort of product near your eyes.

2/5/2015 - I used CVS brand wart remover with 17% syalitic acid. I applied it at least 15-20 times a day for two days without washing it off until night. Then I applied antibacterial cream on the "burns" at least 5 times a day (washing the area first each time) for 5 days. There was a lot of swelling, some bleeding, but I am VERY pleased with the results so far. I wish I knew how to upload pics of before and after! This is my first day not applying the cream, they have shrunk at least 70%, still healing, but I was able to but some makeup on today. When they heal completely, I will see exactly how much is left, but what I can see so far is that they aren't raised anymore, and can barely see them. I am going on vacation in march to somewhere sunny, so I won't apply wart remover again until after. I have been searching for years for some kind of answer to this embarrassing condition as mine were under my eyes and kept growing (yes they look like globbs of makeup that hasn't been rubbed in). I decided to try wart remover because it made sense to me. I am not a doctor, and I don't offer any medical advice that anyone should do what I did, I am merely telling you my success. I feel so much better about my eyes now.

I just wished to add my own experience here. I have had these since was 17 years old and was raised a vegan and my blood tests show too little cholestral--levels are too low. Since adding eggs to my diet, there is no change even with what I assume to be normal cholestral. So it isn't always about diet and elevated cholestoral.

Yes. I did exactly that. Right on edge of my eyelid and one a quarter inch from corner of my eye. It's a year now and they haven't come back, but I did get another small one which I haven't gotten to yet near my other eye.

You have to cut the garlic so that it's in a half moon shape and hold it on each xanthoma for about 15 minutes. It will burn like acid. I do it and the next morning my eyes are extremely swollen, that's how you know it's working. I continue to do it until the area gets raw and then I keep vaseline on the areas for about a week so that they won't scab and scar. I've had mine removed surgically several times and they come back worse each time.

I don't think what you have are cholesterol deposits. They sound like milia. Different thing. I have removed lots using pin to male a tiny hole then pop out the hard little bead.

I had these Cholesterol deposits under my eyes as well - little tiny bumps - sort of yellowish in color and could not be popped in any way. My eye doctor told me it could be from eating too many bad foods. I decided to go on a diet, and completely eliminate all the bad foods I was eating, and let me just say I was eating like total c**p (tons of fast foods, greasy foods, red meat, starchy foods, tons of desserts, chocolate - I mean I ate cookies for breakfast every single day!!) plus drank loads of pop. And Sprite (even though caffeine free) is still bad for you because of all the insane amounts of sugar. Anyways, I eliminated all of these things DRAMATICALLY from my diet, and am only focusing on fresh fruits, vegetables, poultry, salads, whole grains, etc.....and after doing all of this for about 2 months, I noticed that I did not have those cholesterol bumps any longer! I really think that just changing my diet and really cutting the bad foods out made a huge difference. I also notice I don't get bad headaches any longer. I used to need prescription medication to get rid of them - but now I'm thinking it was just my bad diet causing not only the headaches but also those bumps under my eye. Maybe it's just a coincidence, but I really hope it's just me doing something right! :)
