I have this exactly for a couple of years now. Have you been diagnosed with anything?
Is it alright now??
I'm reading your story and you are doing and going through only I sit and waited like a id**t and didn't go until I lost my voice from the sore throats and the exhaustion , don't wait around until it turns into throats cancer like I did, get yourself a good ENT and get the help you need now.
Can pulling a wisdom tooth can give rise to this kind of pain ??
Are you still struggling with this?
Hi Patricia,
I can't offer help but I share in your suffering. I'm a singer and began having throat pain a few years ago. I had a three octave range and can now barely talk without the pain bringing tears to my eyes. I was also put on GERD meds for silent reflux (though an endoscopy and esophageal ultrasound were negative) but the throat problem has worsened in the year I've been on the meds.
A stroboscopy revealed swollen lingual tonsil lymph nodes and constriction and swelling of my larynx and pharynx which my ENT does not consider to be cancer related. My vocal cords are in good condition, so they are not a contributing factor to my dysphonia. In addition to the GERD meds, I'm using a daily saline nasal rinse, "Flonase" and Azelastine nasal spray to try to reduce inflammation. I'm also receiving speech therapy. The pain and dysphonia continue to worsen. I'm at a loss.
I had to give up chorus directing and singing which has been my life for 35 years. Needless to say we can add depression now as another issue. Just to put this out there... I suffered tremendously with Lyme Disease for many years and wonder if it could be related. Per chance do you have a history of Lyme Disease? (maybe there's a connection)
Good luck and please share about any positive treatments you may get.
Thanks,
Amy W.

Did you find out what is wrong?
I have the exact same problem. I have been to nurses & will see a doctor next week. The only option I have from my end is to have a scope inserted through my nose for a specialist to check what's going on inside my throat.
I am also a teacher/singer but I haven't been doing much singing since I had this problem. It has been 8 months & its driving me insane.
I came home Monday from work (teaching grade 1) & my throat felt as if it was going to close. I'm hoping for good news once I get results in. They did blood work in November & was told my thyroid looks fine & everything else came back normal. It scares me a lot!

I contracted what seems to be a viral strain of glandular fever. I noticed that it started off with a sudden pain in the throat as I was typing on my computer and when I woke my glands were swollen. To compound things I also developed red eye or conjunctivitis. The Dr gave me antibiotics which worked during the duration. Later though, it came back with a vengeance. More antibiotics cured the conjunctivitis, but to speed things up I used warm chamomile teabag eye patches before going to bed. Its been 2 months now the clear phlegm, sore throat, swollen lymph glands and fatigue are all still there. As I am typing I am about to use salt water gargles next....yep it did help slightly. Will let you know what happens in a few more days of gargles with salt and bicarb soda.
Hi. Did you find out if you had throat cancer?
