I had 3 c sections, and a tubal after my third. I do not regret a moment. Yes, I will miss my babies being little, but I cherish each moment. My periods are much lighter than ever, lasting maybe 4 days tops. I've tried the pill, Mirena, and the patch. LOVE IT! And if something were to happen to my family, I would never want to "replace" them. They are always my children. Regardless.
I had a tubal ligation two years ago and now Iam two weeks late. I never been late since I had my tubal. What shoudl I do.
Severe headaches are just one of the many side effects of what is called Post Tubal Ligation Syndrome. There are many women who suffer from this. One of the downsides is that many in the medical field do not believe it exists. Many women suffer up to 35 side effects at one time here is a list of a few that I can remember off the top of my head.
Severe Headaches
Insomnia
Menstrual Disturbances
Appetite Changes
Depression
Anxiety
Severe Cramping
Ovulation Pain
Body Aches
Fatigue
Severe Mood Swings
When a woman complains of these symptoms to many physicians they are put on birth control pills and antidepressants. Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center is now in the process of collecting data from patients who have had tubal reversal surgery to relieve symptoms of PTLS.
Hope this helps.

I have the same symptoms as well. Abdominal pain, pain during intercourse, and headaches! I really hate the headaches. My main concern is can they do anything for the abdominal pain and the headaches instead of taking all the pain killers?
i just had it done 1 month ago and am experiencing some regreat...hopefully in the long run ill be happy about it
I had my surgery about three months ago. I haven't had any problems until now I haven't had my cycle yet and i'm about a week late and i'm having all the cramping and bloating as if i was on my cycle. is that normal?
I am 43, I had the tubal ligation done 3 yrs ago, I have for children. I never had any problems after the surgery, but now 3 yrs later I'm starting to experience heavy bleeding, sometimes it goes on for a month. Is this normal would you pls let me know.
Is it correct to think that after a woman gets the tubal ligation surgery, it will be possible to gain lots of weight and really hard to get ride of that????
I had a tubal ligation done at the age of 35, 10 years later, on 3 occasions, I had ovarian cysts, twice they perforated, the most awful pain I have ever experienced. One doctor told me it was because I had a tubal ligation. I am now 63, still have all my internal parts, and luckily no more ovarian cysts. Is this true what I was told? Susan.
I had tuberligation done and i now enjoy sex more and feel young again. At 35 and a mother of two. I however advise that this should be done to woman who are content, mature and with enough children in a steady relationship and sure they are old for any child raising.
I just had it done yesterday and am doing great today still lazy in bed but took Aleve for some pain yesterday and last nite but just like labour pains after childbirth no big deal. I will be back to work in 3 days forsure. Modern medicine is incredible and so easy. Lots of people are scared of this proceedure...don't listen easy peasy! heating pad is great too
I'm 24, engaged and i have 2 kids. I am getting my surgery for tubal ligation on the 17th of December. I have been on birth control(Mirena)since July 2008. After having my daughter May 2008 i knew i was done having kids. Being a full time student and taking my son to school everyday and taking my daughter with me to drop off at daycare before my classes... It's just too much for me. I did have an unplanned pregnancy with my first. Second was planned. The age gap between my 2 kids is 7 years. Ive got my life on track and another child is just not in our future. I'am 100% sure i want this done.
i am a little scared to undergo this procedure but i am hoping for minimal side longterm side effects. i have two children ages 3 and one turning 10. i will be 29 next month and this might sound selfish but i really miss going out without the problems of finding a sitter. also my two boys enjoy things that if financially i had another mouth to feed they wouldnt be able to have.
%-) wow, so glad i found this site. now i don't feel so crazy. i had my tubal ligation done when i was 21, that was 16 yrs ago. i have to daughters, 17 and 16. i don't regret the surgery in the aspect of birth control. i knew i was done having kids and have not changed my mind on that. about a year after i had the ligation done, i have been dealing with regular sharp pangs in my body, mostly upper torso. lower back pangs, headaches, acute anxiety, bouts of depression, irregular periods (4 in 2 months is the latest run of them, ranging from normal to almost phantom). 5 yrs ago i was told i had cysts and polyps on my ovaries. to date, my doc has not dealt with the ovaries. the pangs were dx'd as pleurisy, which i have just found out is NOT pleurisy. (these pangs only come around just before my menstral cycle and are EXTREMELY painful and debilitating). so, i've been on the hunt to find out what is going on. i have rubber bands on my tubes, so, in search to find out if they are latex rubber bands (allergy to latex) and to find out if the cysts and pangs are caused from the ligation. my health has been an absolute mess and it is looking like it may all be centered around the ligation... anyone else have things like this going on?
I also regret having this surgery done. I have so many problems with this procedure, like heavy periods, anxiety, I also have hot flashes I am only 30 and I feel like I am 50 with so many problems. I also have pain when I have intercorse and also vaginal dryness. I would love to have a tubal reversal so that I dont have to suffer no more with all this. I do have children I have a 14 yr old and a 13 yr old and I have twins that are 9. This Tubal Ligation has caused my life so much pain and discomfort, I regret having this done. Tubal Ligation cost so much money to. I would recommend that woman dont have this done.
