Hi, I am seven months pregnant and constantly craving fruit only. I bought Carnation instant breakfast three weeks ago and drank it with milk and woke up with a nasty sweet taste in my mouth. Its lasted for a month on and off. I hate it. It shows up more when I drink water. I already was checked for diabetes and it was negative. I am so worried. I also have been constipated and I read somewhere it can be a sign of interstinal issues but I dont know. Can anyone tell me how to get rid of it

I found out about a month ago that I was pregnant, and not too long afterwards I started to develop a sweet taste in my mouth. It's almost always there, and it's strongest after I eat anything, whether it be sweet or not. From what I've read I'm not far along enough to have gestational diabetes, and I didn't have diabetes beforehand, so I'm not too sure what's going on.

I have Type II diabetes but my sugars are well managed by weight loss, exercise and diet ... a very low carb diet. When this sweet taste started, I was so frightened that I tested my sugar immediately. It was 90. I take hoodia, and my doctor just took me off my potassium supplement. My doctor also just doubled the amount of fish oil that I take every day, so there are some intestinal issues. I'll keep y'all posted.

is always worth getting checked out, although you fill find that is you chew bread for 5 mins it will taste sweet, because this like any carb iit s broken down to reduced sugars (monosaccarides) during digestion, which always taste sweet.
I have also found that i have had a constant sweet taste in my mouth for the last two weeks, the only things i can think of is that i use alot of splenda and hav a bigger apetite than usual, this is the first day i have tried not eating it but i still have the sweet taste

I too have had this the only change I can remember doing is taking prilosec for an extended time. If you used an antacid this may be where it comes from.

Just came across this - I get a sweet taste for around a week when I'm ovulating. I haven't found any evidence as to why but it happens every month!

Check with the owner of your workplace. In many cases this time of the year, the condensation drain pipe gets stagnant, smells bad, and the plumbers answer is to put some antifreeze in the drainpipe. When your A/C first comes on, there is suction from that drain pipe, and the antifreeze will make your mouth water, taste sweet, and even make you nauseous. It is difficult to get rid of the taste, but try to stay away from the fumes of it. Just a suggestion. CV

I also have recently had a sweet taste in my mouth for a few weeks now and it is very annoying. I would brush my teeth after meals hoping that that would make it go away, but an hour or less later it was back. After doing some research on my own, I believe I have Candida Albicans, which is an overgrowth of the harmful bacteria that is present in all our bodies. Apparently the friendly bacteria we have help metabolize sugar and when we do something that kills them off like taking antibiotics or, as in my case, something as simple as gargling twice a day with an antiseptic mouthwash to clear up a gum infection, we cause havoc and result in a sweet taste in the mouth and maybe other symptoms like a coated tongue or white patches in the mouth. I've decided to start by taking acidophilus pills to replenish the good bacteria and avoid eating sugary foods to starve the Candida which thrives on sugar. Also, I've learned that when your body's ph balance is out of wack, the good bacteria can't thrive, so it's important to maintain your bodies proper ph balance.

Has anyone with the sweet taste ever received a diagnois of the sweet taste in their mouths?

I have had a sweet taste since 01/07. I have been through tons of testing and no answers. I recently had my gallbladder removed but still have taste. Taste is not a typical gallbladder symptom. I was hoping I wasn't typical. It has been 4 weeks since my surgery.

I recently saw a gastro specialist at U Of M. Mystery to him also.

Please help.

I also have that sweet taste in my mouth and it doesn't go away. I feel like puking and so i can get rid of the taste. It's annoying, i don't have the appetite to eat! The only reason i eat is because i can hear my tummy gurgling and so that's a sign that i am producing lots of acid in my tummy. But it sucks to feel this taste. I do not get this often, but when i do, i feel like i wanna puke, though the "nauseated" feeling is not really there.

I have this problem too, and it is so intense today that no matter what I eat or drink it all tastes like sugar. I was recently diagnosed with inflammation of the pancreas. I have had this sweet taste almost constantly for nearly a yr. My urine had slight ketones in it. I have lost over 30 pounds in just a few months and now have gall bladder pains and burning in the lower abdomen shorty after I eat anything. I wish that someone could tell me how to get rid of this nasty sick sweet taste that I have in my mouth.
