Damn wish someone had figured this out. I am also coughing up jelly like mucus balls, sometimes in large clumps and they aren't always balls sometimes they appear wormlike In shape. When it's a fairly large clump it usually takes a bit of work to get it up but the mucus is always very solid, like it will stick to my finger without moving. I have smoked weed for about 6 years, used to smoke cigs as well about 2 years, use an cig now. This has been going on for quite a while, probably a year year and a half. I used to cough up some darker material within the mucus but now it's almost always clear

I have these to. Both of my daughters have tonsil stone, Plaque, yellowish or white things from the tonsils. That isnt what these look like. I describe them best as clear or opaque caviar clusters. they look like tiny tiny clusters of perfectly formed clear muccus balls. I have smoked for years but recently started vaping. Thats when they started. Sometimes they just come up without coughing. At times even cause me to clear my throat spontaneously. A few times even strangled me. I cant find anything thing on the net either.

You may be tired of mucus balls but if you are vaping your cigs now that is a much healthier alternative then inhaling all the nasty toxins from an actual cig.  So, what the mucus is or comes from is in your bronchial tubes - it's clearing out your airways and it takes a long time to do.  I am an avid marijuana user, went from joints to a volanco vaporizer system YEARS ago and I experienced the same thing and still to this day if I switch when I visit a friend I get the same thing, mucus balls that may or may not have dark matter in it.

A doctor may or may not prescribe an inhaler to help clear them out faster as my hubby has one and I have found it helps me tremendously.

I hope this helps and answers a few questions.

I bet we are all suffering from something caused by the heavy metals being dumped in Chemtrails!

why isn't there a solid answer to this question, looks like enough people have it. I am 27 smoked once when i was 15 and i live in a tropical country environment, so that kind of rules those causes out. i feel like i dont have to cough them up they just kind of appear in my mouth. i had a bad case of bronchitis maybe two years ago, i dont have asthma but have been prescibed an inhaler a few times. im leaning towards it being a bronchial thing and body just doing what it has to in order to make it healthy again, muscus job is to catch "dust" and bring it out off your lungs, so until someone suggests otherwise ill just drink plenty of water, salt inhaler, salt lamp, asthma inhaler to help bring it up and clear them out.

Had this problem for a long time aske a few dentist and doctors finally my allergist told me it was my lungs cleaning themselves out. I can't tell you exactly it's name. But I can tell you it's not dangerous. It's a natural reaction. You don't have to quit smokig to have them however when you quit you will have them.

I have more or less a green small ball every morning, i believe it is your body cleaning itself up,so since you also smoked the body is cleansing itself, from all rubbish.iN THE GOOD OLD DAYS THEY SAID WHEN SICK GET RID OF GREEN PHLEM ETC - ITS good its ACTUALLY HELPING the BODY REMEND/CLEANSING itself.

Guys, I think it might be asthma

Asthma or bronchitis I think. I found out I have post nasal drip

I always reasoned that they were round because they are rolling back and forth in your asophagus and lungs at night. Its probably just harmless.

I started having these transparent mucus balls after getting inoculated for some sort of pneumonia. Doctor recommended it and I was not paying all that much attention to what it was. I don't smoke, so I don't think it's related to smoking.

I have the same symptoms as many other people described here.Sometimes I'll caught out a tea spoon full and sometimes there is just one. So, there is something that makes it better or worse, but I've not figured out the pattern yet.

I live in Austin TX and also have received allergy shot treatments in the past, but not in couple years. I was worried that i had lunch cancer and went to get checked for it, but nothing came up. Yet, still about a year later now these transparent "caviar" looking mucus balls come up when I cough. I feel no other discomfort. However this is now getting really old because they make cough to get them out. I sound like Golum, gollum, gollum.

I work from home and don't travel in smokey areas. Technically there is no reason for this to be going on this long.

I also started to have wheezing and the same doctor prescribed inhaler. That helps with the wheezing, but the mucus continues.

I thought, lack of Vitamin C - started to take vitamin C supplements. I thought lack of vitamin D - started to spend more time in the Sun.

Nothing makes it go away completely.

Really weird stuff.

Its got to come out, forget what it is. Doesn't matter. Don't look for what sickness you "HAVE" ... keep it nameless. "KNOW" your body is ejecting, and is a huge sign to use your lungs... breathe DEEP! DEEP! DEEP! In the nose, out the nose/mouth. IN THE NOSE ! out the nose/mouth. at least 10mins every single day, 10mins, every, single, day. DEEP BREATHING. Train the body that you want to use those lungs not let them rot. Drink ONLY water and PLENTY of it ! When you sneeze, a chance to dislodge, let loose and really try to hock from the bottom of your lung. Steam daily, hot showers or bowls of lemon scented water. One last opportunity, when you orgasm... tense and hock at the same time, your body has enormous energy at point of climax, use the opportunities well when you can.... good excuse for fun times. Above all LISTEN to your body, it works, and works well, don't push anything, relax while being tense...focus on the muscles you need to engage. :-) Had the same thing, this seemed to work ^

I too have had this problem over the last 2-3 years after my lungs were damaged by accidentally enabling insulation. I have been to Er twice for breathing difficulties and have noticed that I always have these little balls days before my breathing is impacted. Specialist told me it is basically allergies- clear mucus from your upper respiratory system. To avoid confusion in what seems to be a heated debate here I am referring to tiny, clear balls of gel that have no odor or color and can be rolled around in one's hand without breaking up even though they are soft and squishy. They are hard to cough up NOT because they're difficult to dislodge but because there are so many your lungs feel heavy. Tonsil stones and mucus balls ARE IN NO WAY SIMILAR! Though I believe when asking the world for help you should be willing to accept every answer graciously. Doesn't mean you have to believe it but thank them for taking their time in an effort to help you find relief. So there's the answer my friends. I wish you each well. Perhaps ask your doctor about taking allergy meds when you see or feel the signs of the mucus balls coming along for a visit. Good health everyone!!

Basically it's mucus from upper respiratory that's caused by allergies. Not a worry generally speaking. Difficulty breathing makes one feel differently.
