Could false negative pregnancy test results be from levonorgestrel? (Mirena)

Wow! Ok came across this because I am experiencing all of this. I've had the mirena for 3 years this may but definitely now think I am pregnant. I took 2 home tests, 1 said positive but the other said negative. I'm making an appointment this week but was hoping to find out what everyone else's results were. omg not 1 person has reaplied back saying "yes" or "no".....i have the same exact symtoms and duhh i know i should be on the internet researching this i should go to the dr but i have a dr's appt this tuesday and in the mean time i want to clear my mind and see if someone has eneded up preganat with negative test result and the mirena inserted. by the way ive also read if you are preganant and on the mirena and your test results are showing negative results it could be an etopic preganacy ...so im defiantly going to the dr's i just need SOME PIECE OF MIND please let me know if u have or have not gotten pregnant! thank u :)

I have had my our since sept of 2011. Have had several cycles and taken several tests. Cycles have been extremely heavy from normal and all test came up negative. Went to dr and they said was not prey had blood test done And they also negative... Really freaking out because I've gain major weight had crazy hormonal imbalance and I feel overall prego like I did with both my kids. I just recently started have the feeling that something was moving around in my stomach and feeling so wore out.... I can physically see my stomach moving and it very creepy not sure what to do if anyone has any input it would be greatly helpful.

Could someone pleasetell me what you have found out about this. I am having all the same issues although my brest are producing milk. I really need to know so I can know what I need to do next.

Sadly nobody is replying so I'm guessing nobody is really pregnant. But did anyone figured out what it was? My BF is starting to think I'm crazy and I'm wondering too...

Ive had the mirena for 2 1/2 years (after I had my boy) and no period for the past 2 years. I have ALL the symptoms mentionned ie nausea everyday, watery mouth, mouvements in my stomach fluttering and mini kicks, dizzyness, crazy mood swings and crying constantly (without really knowing why), chocolate ice cream cravings (like with my first kid), a little colstrom coming out of my breast if i squeeze (I haven't breastfeed in 10 months), tiredness and needing a wee every middle of the night.

I took one home pregnancy test and it was negative. I have a doc appt on Friday and don't know what to think. Ive never had any problem with the mirena but now I'm thinking about taking it out as I'm going nuts!

I will post feedback after doc appt, I'm not leaving until he gives me an answer... In the mean time anyone else had results?

Update as promised... My urine test at the doc said negative as well but she is sending me to do a blood test because she said there is always a small possibility, but she reckons it's all down to stress ?!

I would like to know how both stories came out. I came across this while searching for preg symptoms with Mirena. I got mine in April, and now I'll randomly vomit for hours, I'm fatigued and biggest sign is I don't want to drink or smoke a cig. I'm debating on taking a home pregnancy test because I'm thinking it will most likely be a waste. I don't want to wait either.

I just read through the entire thread, and I thought I was going crazy when I felt flutters in my stomach that felt just like it did with my daughter. I'm going to try more research, but its very odd all of us are having the same issues. Someone I know had 3 miscarriages on Mirena. And another girl shrugged and said, "if you do get pregnant it just makes you miscarry."That's terrible!! I didn't sign up for a miscarriage machine. I was told it keeps the soldiers away from the gold, if you know what I mean.

Well ive had my mirena for 3yrs now,the 1st yr I had no periods thn 2nd yr had period nd now im on my third yr my last period was around march 2012 but since march ive gaind wieght,went up 2 bra sizes,eat so so much more than usual,very cranky,always sleepy,not to nasty but had diarrhea the whole month of april 2012 nd it stoped 19th or 20th of may, my stomach has gotten rounder nd is starting to get harder,can feel flutters alot(and i no its not gas)nd im able to feel hard spots that pop up randomly nd i did an old wife tail to find out wat gender baby i would have i take a needle&thread or necklas&ring hold it still above belly nd it will move by its self so circle is girl/back nd forth is boy....so i tryd it nd it went it circle first thn back&forth(twins)!!!! I did try a pee test from store and came back negative but i read read nd read mirena WILL mess up da test due to hormones it releases so i have a gut feeling i am nd will let yall no sumthn:-D please pray for me

 

wow, this is some crazy stuff, i m havng the same issue buti wasnt always like this i have had the mirena in for 1 year and 3 months now. during that time there were times when i felt like i was pregnant but all pregnancy test came back -. months pasted and no increase in stomach so i put it off to the fact that maybe i was peranoid. but since latly this one is different my period came as a 3 day spotting of pink and brow discharge very light, nd i ususally have 7 day heavy periods with massive cramps. my breast got tender one time bt thts when i had the spotting. i blamed it on the mirena because it said it might stop ur period all to gether,

but this feeling in my stomach wont go away, im eating way more i mean i hav cravings, certin smells now start to bother me, just like wen i was pregnant with my daugther....i have had weird vaginal pains latly. people notice i se the bathroom more than usual, i didnt even notice. my stomach feels weird qeezy, i walk fst bt latly when i do i get this bloating pain, im constipated here and there. i dont want to go to the doctor yet until next month when my next period is due that will tell me if i need a blood test or not.

i have had it in for1 year 3 months it hasnt really bugged me since te last year, and when it did it didnt last more thn a day or 2. this 2 months is different. constantly my stomach isnt feeling right. feel like puking but dont.... MIGHT JUST BE THE MIRENA MESSING S UP

i had the same feelings described in all the posts. after taking several urine pregnancy tests and several negatives I decided to go to a doctor and get a blood test done which also came out negative. i was told by the doctor that iuds tend to make woman feel or have pregnancy symptoms so the body will not ovulate. the iud tricks ur body and brain ladies. anyways not very convinced i left it like that and a year later i have not had a baby so i was not pregnant. i still have those symptoms and do have cramps which end with spotting. its confusing and frustrating but in the end i came to the conclusion that the doctor was saying the truth and that i am not pregnant. (p.s. i also felt kicking but it was nothing)

I'd imagine an ultrasound would definitely answer the question on whether a baby (capable of kicking/moving) was present.

Like many of you, I too am having many pregnancy symptoms such as nausea vomiting, fatigue, sore breasts, cramps...  I also have been spotting and passing what can only be described as blood/flesh clots.  I have a doctors appointment in 4 days but waiting is driving me up the wall.  Does anyone know of any positive outcomes?  My strings are still reachable so if I am pregnant, I think they could remove it...  Has anyone heard of safe, full term pregnancies that start with mirena?  either with the IUD being removed or having it in place through the pregnancy?  

I too am having the same symptoms of everybody else and just recently became nauseate at work and out of no where had to vomit.  co workers also noticed that my face is getting fuller as last time when I was pregnant and as im typing it feels like something is moving in my stomach and actually seen my stomach move.. would like a response to have anyone become pregnant while on mirena or is it such the side effects ive take test b4 and they came back negative dont have $15 to spend on another test. please help...
