I'm 17 and a white girl but i have extreme curly hair. I have the same problem with my bikini line. I have 2 terrible scars and some red marks I'd like to get rid of. HOWEVER, I do know how to prevent razor bumps. shave very gentlely with the same razor each time. shave downwards first then upwards for a cleaner shave. also condition the area before you shave. then as soon as you get out of the shower and dry off apply liquid-y lotion all around the areas you shaved. about 2 hours later, apply baby powder all around the area. and then apply baby powder a few hours after that again to keep the area dry and clean. works for me :) (and prior to this I'd tried so many things, cremes, nair, waxing, etc.)

Did you ever use the lemon juice and brown sugar? Did it help?

This is a long process but effective 1.never wear underwear while sleeping, loose pants are just fine. 2. When you are home avoid underwear. 3.wear only cotton underwear, in case of sports and exercise wear the one you want and remove it once you are done. 4. Make sure to use ph balanced soap, or one with bumps down there can use soap free acne clearing facewash, don't put it inside your vagina though. 5.use potato , chilled potato slices and rub the area, not lemon, its painful specially if you have bumps. 6. Moisturize with baby oil, light cream, moisturizer . 7. The one with bumps down there use aloe gel, or pure aloevera from plant. 8. Wash twice a day. 9.wear loose clothes. Mostly cotton. 10. This is the most important, do exercise, fats and heavy legs will lead to friction which will in turn cause rashes, irritation and darkening.

I hope this works! I am also a woman of color who has been worried about this for so long. I started at the same age as the person who posted this and I'm 22 right now. I hate not being able to wear a short cut top that shows my tummy or swimming and I have and such a fair figure! I appreciate this so much. Sorry if this is excessive but it inhibits my lifestyle.

Oooo yes thank you! I also speak on this! I had to find out the hard way.. Not only does Nair and Veet, need to stay on for a minimum amount of minutes.. If it stays longer.. It burns! All my legs were burned. Each and every pore on my legs had tini tiny scabs! I tried it again, a few times, thinking it was because I kept it on too long that one time. It worked fairly, but still stung a bit sooner than the time recommended so I never got ALL the hair as I wished but was satisfied. After using Veet for a few months, I finally had an allergic reaction to the cream. Not only did it burn, but numbed my legs after ONLY 2 minutes! Luckily I had allergy cream because of other allergies, & of course, I slapped it on hoping it would stop because the pain was just that bad, and thank God it did! I thought I would have to cut off my legs. Please ladies, lemons may burn but it's natural and if your skin is clean, it shouldn't burn at all! Also a good detox for the skin.
