Same symptoms as everyone else (though I'm male and most people seem to be female I believe).
Last year I was diagnosed with a hiatus hernia and I'm almost positive this is what is causing the problem now. It's definitely worth investigating for those of you who are unsure.
I've had a stressful few weeks and apparently this makes it worse.
I'm seeing my doctor tomorrow and it's been like this for a few months but as far as I can see the options are:
1. Surgery which sounds horrendous and with major side effects.
2. Physical manipulation to pull the stomach back into place. This sounds preferable and I'm going to discuss this first if the hernia is the cause.
I finally figured out what it was that was causing my pain.
It is called "abdominal wall pain". In my case there was no relation to eating or bowel movements, only to posture and stress. Driving in the car for long periods was a big trigger. Sometimes if I ate a big meal it would hurt, but more because my stomach was pressing against it than anything to do with eating.
In my case the pain was greatly improved by acupuncture. Within a couple weeks of acupuncture treatment, the pain shrank from a mango-sized pain deep in my side to a quarter-sized pain right at the surface. Now I can massage this spot and get relief, which is extremely helpful. I discontinued acupuncture because I moved, but if I had continued it for a bit longer I think my pain relief would have been even more complete. I had a friend with exactly the same symptoms as I had and she found total relief this way.

I have this problam too, was told by the doc that it is Rib Tip Syndrome. I am very down about this. I have had it for years and it is now effecting every aspect of my life.
Doc says no cure
Possible solution: I have had this problem for years and now when it happens (every time I sit) I do a self colon massage. It sounds gross but it is very easy and I get instant relief for about 5 mins.

It is poop going thru your large intestines. Thats why it feels like a bump is slowly moving around inside, because there is a bump moving around. It hurts because it is getting blocked in there.
My bra bugs me too, especially when I am feeling full and having this crampy feeling below my left rib. I had 2 spasms in a few days, once while tying my shoes, and another while doing biceps repetitions. Very strange, and btw, I just started taking more magnesium, and hope this helps, but who knows. Maybe I should stop my drinking beer, I get very gassy, then have to take gas pills. Hmmmm
