My pain is exactly the same as this and has been for years, to a point of not being able to put my own socks on. One day I will be forced to give up drinking and that will be a shame but the pain makes me bad tempered and not able to do the things I enjoy.

Yup. Dehydration is the culprit in most cases of back pain especially lower pack pain .

So what was the answer? Is lower back pain related to drinking alcohol?

That seems a logic answer as I have variuos pain killers which help to releave the lower back pain but as soon as I have a pint,my back is awful. I cannot relax in bed, hence me typing this!

Good honest letter. These docs need to here from these hundreds of people with the same symptoms...I am here in ER with exact same symptoms. We have ruled out liver. Study of UA hopefully will tell them if it is a kidney infection.

Nooo; pain is STILL there after drinking three quarts of H2O. I always used a gallon of Cranberry Juice.

There`s always assholes who likes to scare the hell out of hypocondrics. Not that such symptoms should be taken seriously though. If this keeps recuring every time you drink alcohol it is a warning sign from the body to quit or at least seriously reduce your intake.

Sometimes how you fall asleep can affect this. I was getting bad lower back pain after drinking. I figured out my leg was hanging off the bed/couch and I was in a deeper sleep and didn't wake up.

Why did no one mention that it could be your kidneys. Lower back pain from drinking too much can result in kidney failure.
