Hi! I've been on Duromine 40mg for about a month now. I've lost 11kg.for years i tried everything under the sun to lose weight... changing my diet, gym, calorie counting, weight watchers, even those stupid online soup diets, and online 'crash diets'. I never saw a single change on any of them.I'm 23 and was originally 113kg. so I NEEDED it. I haven't done any exercise other than swimming once a week.  The first day i started taking them, i had a boost of energy.I haven't had a single side affect after that, except a dry mouth. Everyone is different, so google really isnt the best place to look as everyone will only tell you the bad stuff. Very rarely does anyone mention their success stories. Duromine has helped my food intake, I can't stomach anywhere near as much as I used to!! I could sit down and scoff 2 blocks of chocolate without thinking about it. now, i'll eat a tiny salad and half a steak if I'm lucky for dinner. but I feel full after it. I should probably mention, too, that I not long had a little bubba :) so that was against my weight too! lol!Anyways, yes it has helped me out A LOT! I have lost the 11kgs so far, but for some reason I cant see it on myself? anyone else have this issue? The only spot i see the main difference is in my thighs, which were disgustingly full of cellulite! you know, those deep craters and everything? Now, they actually look hot hahaAll in all, I was a hard case to crack with weight loss, but Duromine is helping. even without exercise. I personally, have no side affects, except a dry mouth, which actually is helping me drink more water. The main ingredient in Duromine is the same ingredient thats found in speed... yeah the street drug. but honestly, I havent felt it since the first day. I've never had trouble sleeping because of it either. Talk to your doctor though. make sure it's the right thing for you. good luck!! xx

Hi Guys,

The first time I ever started taking Duromine was 3 years ago. I was naive, 20 years old, 70kg and was prescribed 30mg for 2 months. From what I can recall, it was amazing.. I didn't eat or feel the need to eat, I had so much energy and would be at the gym for hours! I think I lost around 8-10 kg in 2 months! Unfortunately, I gained that all back the following year - I even gained an extra 5kg! I also became completely obsessed with the drug but doctors stopped prescribing it as much because it was in high demand.

Feb 2012, so I decided enough was enough and attempted to lose the weight on my own. I went to the gym almost everyday for 3 or 4 months, stopped binge eating and lost 10kgs (from 75kg to 65kg). Later on that year, I lost more weight on my own (the unhealthy way - not eating, over-exercising) and pretty quickly I became 58kg. Believe it or not, the following year (this year) I gained all the weight back..

Over the past 10 months I have desperately tried to shed the kilos but have been unsuccessful.. So I have decided to try Duromine again, this time less eager to shed.. more eager to keep it off (third time's a charm, right?)! I didn't ever think I would be back on it.. I was actually researching it because I have become so paranoid about the side effects (addiction/ anxiety/ sleeping) - that's how I came across this thread.

I am 23 years old, 164cm & 75kg - currently on 40mg for 1 month.

DAY ONE - I woke up at 6am to take it and went back to bed. Woke up a couple hours later and it had kicked in. Went to work, felt edgy and spaced out throughout most of the day. Ate normally (oats for breakfast, piece of fruit or almonds/ cashews as snacks, salad & tuna for lunch) but skipped dinner. Was very thirsty in the morning to afternoon - still have dry mouth but no longer thirsty after 6-7pm (have to now force water down). Sweated like a pig, all day! Jaw is constantly clenched and lips are sore from licking! No exercise today because I'm too edgy and my body has been tense the whole day - can't relax any muscles and my back and shoulders are so stiff now. I felt completely exhausted at 9pm and thought I would fall asleep tonight but no, I'm writing this post at 5am. So overall, the side effects aren't as bad as I remember them (lol) and I know it will get easier in a few days. & now I am due to take the next pill in the next 30-60 mins.

TIPS:

- Wake up! I recommend taking it early in the morning from 5am to 6.30am at the latest, if you want to sleep that night!

- Stay positive, you control your own mood. If you read negative posts about Duromine and then take it expecting the worse, you are more than likely going to be in a bad mood - because you have already decided on that. Don't think about it to much!

- Drink water. I recommend 2.5L to 3L (or more) daily because trust me, you sweat!

- Please eat. Duromine suppresses your appetite, that doesn't mean you completely forget about eating. So please eat, so that you have enough energy to exercise.

- Exercise. The minimum you should be working out is 25 mins, 5 days a week & there is no maximum. You know your limits.

That's all I can think about right now. I'll be back at the end of the week to let you know how much weight I've lost/ how the side effects are going. I know some of you may think I am ridiculous for taking 40mg at only 75kg.. But I know my body and I have a high tolerance for this drug so 40mg would be much more effective than 30mg.. for me that is (each person is different).

I hope this helps,

Sophia.

I've been on duramine a month now had bad side effects the first two weeks. Then could sleep fine and I felt like I was taking nothing. But then towards the afternoon I felt sick and naar. Then moody and hated my husband for no reason at all. I didn't lose a thing on it. But all I can say is how can it be good for u if u feel sick? Excersie is the only way and healty eating. Plenty people I know lost weight on duramine then picked it all up afterwards. We only get the 30mg in south africa.

Hi there, im 17 years old 102kg and 169cm, obviously im extremely over weight.

I decided ive had enough and wanted to be my old self again.. I started duromine 30mg on saturday 2nd November 2013, the first day i took it, i felt shaky but full of energy. Unfortunately this hasnt lasted, since sunday afternoon i sleep great but feel absolutely exhausted all day, i feel a little sick every now n then but i try not to focus on it.. I havent been exercising because ive felt so sick, hoping this feeling will pass i will be joining gym!

Anyways, each day ive only been eating about once a day (usually dinner time) ive had nothing unhealthy in these last few days and already my stomach feels lighter and no longer bloated and heavy.. Today is the 6th november and i decided to weigh my self not expecting any results, im now 99kg, in just 4 days ive lost 3 kilos, seeing this has motivated me so much and as much as i hate this tired feeling im hoping it will pass. if i can loose 3 kilos in 4 days, i think ill be a very happy girl in a month or two..

Starting weight; 102kgNow; 99kg

Goal; 70

29KG TO GO! wish me luck! And if anyone has any ideas for this fatigue, id love to know!

Goodluck all, stick at it. xx

I am starting duromine 15mg tomorrow, I am 130kg but I my main concern is that it's not a strong enough of a dose being a larger set person. I will give it a go until my check up in 2 weeks time to see if I have progressed in my goal to losing 45kg. I have tried all other options with the exception of surgery, I just hope it doesn't have to come to that.

Hi I'm 16 and I am currently 6'0 tall and I weigh 110 kgs, I know that I huge. But I was wondering if duro would be a good choice for me, I live away from home; I love at a boarding school so they'll have to hold it for me, but would it be safe for me to take it

I have been on Duromine now for 6 days.
It's working....Start date 94.8 kilo, now 91.1.
I set the alarm and take it at 5.00am or there is no way I could sleep at night. It has given me a sick feeling in my stomach, tiredness, lethargy and a dry throat. To be honest I don't know if the bad feelings subside. It has taken away my appetite completely, turned me off anything sweet and stopped me wanting to binge. I have to force myself to eat small meals during the day and you seem to get the full feeling very quickly. Drink lots of water.
When the scales go down almost every morning it has given me the incentive to go one more day.
When your clothes don't fit any more, gives you the incentive to go one more day.
I was going to exercise every day but didn't bank on the overwhelming tiredness.
My niece is on it as well and she has had hot flushes, dry throat, boundless energy but can't sleep.
It's up to you but I say give it a go......what have you got to loose except weight.
I wish you all well
