I have recently starting experimenting with weed. I have tried one heavy indica strain and one hybrid. On the hybrid I get a mild pain in my lower back, near an area I had an injuri a couple of years ago. However on the heavy Indica I get no pain. I am very curious why this is. Going to try some heavy Sativa strains to see how my body and brain reacts to that.

i used to weight 265 when i was in highschool and i had back pain, i always thought it was because i was fat and because i was drinking and smoking cigarrettes, i had a horrible lifestyle back then.. ( this is from age 17-21) during that time mj was introduce to me but i never really liked it so i didnt realy smoke it alot but anyways..when i turned 22  i decided to start working out did p90x, stop drinking and quitted cigarretes.. i would only smoke mj here n there preferrably with the work outs.. after 2 years of hardwork and dedication (only doing mj ocassionaly) i lost alot of weight, builded muscle, more flexible etc.. the whole deal i was down to 195pounds.. no back pain during those 2 years it actually went away.. thats when my love for pot started it...since then till now (26 years old now) i  smoke everyday, nothing but dro, no blunts, only waterbongs (just being healthier i guess) .. i like working out specially high in the convenience of my home. lets just say mary was my pre workout..i even started meditating high.. so i smoke during workouts and ofcourse when i socialize... but enough of my story, heres my point where i can relate to this.. like about a year ago or so i started having back pain, is not like a strong pain is more like uncomfortable pain ., it makes me want to pop my back and to be doing back stretches till it feel better  like someone here said "i feel like iam on fire ""something like that.. and didnt though it was mary and it didnt make sense , comeone i do an hour of yoga twice a week plus the other workouts.. i guess i didnt want to admit that mary was doing this to me , my friends would complain of back pain but never wanted to blame mary... i thoght it was just me that had this but looking at this blog iam afraid that my back pain is caused by the long term used of mj.. like they also said the body reacts diferently for everybody so i guess it took like around 3 heavy years of mj usage to start doing this to me.. im fixing to quit starting monday and will post my results after a month of after i start feeling better.. iam not your tipical lazy pot head, i work out everyday and eat healthy too.. also i stop meditation cuz of the pain i cannot sit straight without hurting anymore.  i love mary but i love myself more so if anybody has a solution to this plz let me know..will share my results as i start improving.i hope i make sense with all of this.. . sorry for the misspelling but iam here to share not in a effin english class. lol just in case someone wants to be an as****e about this...

I suffer from this too. I think I may have a bulging disc or pinched nerve in my neck, but instantly after a few hits im in severe pain that is unbearable. I've stopped smoking pot and the immense pain hasn't returned. Im glad im not alone in experiencing this reaction. Before this I smoked everyday for years without a problem, outta the blue one day it hit me.. sucks but life choices need to be made.

alright im gonna help some of you m@#$@#ers out here since theres a lot of bs c**p gettin spewed out. people with low CSF pressure, thats cerebro-spinal fluid pressure, can get all kinds of screwed up in a not-good-way when smoking weed. yeah well it lowers your CSF. if you are borderline low CSF already, and it crosses you past a certain threshold, you can get anything from locked muscles to severe pain to back issues just from being high on weed.

Long story short, I've had a herniated disc since i was 16 (23 now) that ranged from some pain to so much pain I couldn't get out of bed or walk. The best period was after my first epdieral (17) and for about 3 years after that, I was practiaclly pain free.

Started smoking weed in college and the amount has gone up a lot from 1 or 2 times a week freshmen year to I'm more high than sober now (second semester senior). Keep in mind I can still have a completely normal day while high, my tolerance is stupid. Anyways, last year, my back was at its worst where I missed 3 weeks of school. The pain started previous summer but I don't know why. Only explanation I had was I was sitting all day (work) and put on some weight. I did a lot of physical therapy that didn't help and got another epdieral which pretty much removed the pain again. I studied abroad in Europe this past summer after the shot and my back didn't bother me much at all over there (wasn't smoking), even with hours of walking and standing a day (thats what causes me pain). However, when I was in Amsterdam, my back pain came back when I smoked. I immediatly made a connection but I am "addicted" so I don't wanna quit (plan was to quit after college). I started smoking evne more this year and there's no doubt that my back pain gets worse with weed. I feel like it's not even causing pain when i smoke, but i feel just making my back worse overall. I'm going to Coachella in two weeks so I'm not smoking till then so my back can hopefully get better. Right now I can't stand or walk for more than 30-40 min without having to sit down. I'll letcha know if it helps.

Glad (maybe wrong word choice) to see other peole sharing my problem, I thought i was the only one. My friends just laugh when i tell them weed causes more pain.

Last night, I vaped some GDP, and I experienced increased cramping in my arm and leg, and facial pain. It made my existing chronic problem worse. Still felt bad this morning, so I tried some Harlequin, and started feeling better within minutes. This is the second time I've noticed this: obviously, it doesn't make me high, but I feel relaxed and cozy. At least, for me, balanced THC versus CBD is a painkiller. THC by itself can have the opposite effect. Never tried straight CBD...

I'm 18, and I'm experiencing something very similar. I'm not sure its the weed because I smoked every weekend for months 2 years ago with no problem, then stopped and started again a month ago. I get extreme back pains that feels like my whole body is in pain. My neck aches like hell. My backs dying. Everything hurts and I just roll around on the bed in pain. I even feel what feels like bodily sh*t moving around in my stomach, lungs, and the heart area.

Ive had the same thing. I didnt experience this right away. I had been smoking for a couple years regularly. Now, when I smoke regularly, I get this terrible pain. (Like level 10 pain) in my left, lower back. It hurts to sit and drive, hurts to lay down....just hurts to live. I did an experiment. I quit smoking for 2 months and the pain went away. When I took up smoking regularly again, the pain eventually came back. Its not really a 'muscle' pain or bone....come to find out its a NERVE issue. I went to get acupuncture, and it really made a difference. The pain level went from a 10 to a 4 as I left the office. And eventually subsided a few days later. I was so relieved and happy that, that pain went away. It truly helped. I tried looking it up. Found others who mentioned the same kinda thing, but still had no idea why it was happening. My acupuncturist said it was a nerve issue, and that it wasnt muscle related. I hope that helps. It helped me. Sucks I cant smoke like I use to, but I wouldnt trade it for that horrible horrible pain ever again.
