Hi guys, I'm not a scientist nor a doctor, however I have been smoking weed for about 4/5 years now, regularly.
I researched about the effects of weed and if it makes you lose weight as I was just as curious as all of you guys too!
In my personal opinion, yes marijuana IS a key factor in weight loss - especially if your like me and smoke it daily.
I agree with a lot of the comments on here regarding the change in eating habits. I try to eat as much as I can but I can only keep it up for a few days maybe a week and I'm back to my 'weed eating habits' (only really feeling hungry when I'm high) and I do notice how it effects my body, in terms of weight loss as about 2 years I quit smoking weed for about 2/3 months mainly because of money problems. In those 2/3 months I did gain weight and would say I was in a
much healthier state. If you chose to smoke weed you need to understand the side effects and how it can change your lifestyle. You MUST ensure you stick to your normal eating habits regardless of how much weed you smoke. 3-5 meals a day will keep you at a healthy weight without showing signs of a pot smoker (thin face/cheekbones and frame). It is vital that you DO NOT eat passed 9pm as this can effect your eating habits for the following day as you will find you won't be hungry for breakfast and you will, over time, begin to skip eating within the recommended time frames (morning, lunch, dinner) and just eat when you want to or when your high... That's how you lose weight!
I am a naturally skinny guy anyway so if I don't keep on top of my eating and of course exercise... It shows straight away, I can go from looking healthy to looking skinny within a week. It all depends on how I treat my body... You need to be clever when you smoke weed, stick to your normal routines and do not give in to the lazy urges or tiredness, it will pass over time.
Like I said, this is my personal opinion on the matter and I am not a doctor or a scientist.
I enjoy smoking weed and as far as I see it, as long as I stick to my normal eating habits and ensure I exercise 4/5 times a week, there will be no problems with my health.
Ya it's so weird cause honestly for myself I recently started smoking a bit more and I don't eat terribly and I find I lost a good 10 pounds off of 190 in a couple months without changing anything in my routine other then the smoking

In some cases it does make you loose weight but make yourself healthy snacks to munch on some strains I'm starving some I'm not just really thirsty so honestly it varies.
I'm 59 and have been a daily smoker for short time, for depression and anxiety. In the process I tended to eat less, sometimes I won't eat all day and still not feel hungry. I've gone from a size 14 to size 10 in less than 6 months with minimal excercise started only recently.
Im a nineteen yr oldd Female, I stopped smoking a year& a half ago and I put on serious weight, before I stoped smoking cold Turkey by choice of a "better job" because it's not legal where I'm from. I was a serious pot head 5-10 blunts a day depending on how I felt that day, I started when I was 16teen still in high school the end of my sophomore yr, between my begin date to the day I officially stop I losted almost 80pds I have doctor records and all. Since a year and 6
months to date I put on a serious amount of that weight back on. so no one can't tell me weed doesn't help yu lose weight . yea I had the munchies too. I'm really going to start again for a weight change

I smoked for years not gaining a single kilo staying at a steady health range. I ease constantly motivated and never over ate.
Once I stopped I gained over 15kilos in only 3 months and lost motivation.
Recently I started back up to find I started eating right, only when my body needed it and began motivating again.
Simply, have you ever seen a fat Stoner. Likely but mostly....No. There for pot = weightloss on some level.

No you won't lose weight from a couple joints here and there. People who smoke everyday most likely will.
I'm only speaking through my own experience but for me I lost a lot of weight smoking pot, and I think the reason (for me) is once you have become a advent smoker you only get hungry after coming down from the high! So when you are sober you have no appetite! At least was the case for me..
I don't know how it makes sense but I weighted 160 going into my HS wrestling season still smoking and doing crazy cardio I burned like 30 pounds in like a month and a couple weeks I don't know how , I'm bulking now I'm praying I can do it again to slim down

ive lost 2o kg in 18 months since i started smoking weed daily again and i basically eat the same amount but the weight is just falling of me... if anyone can get back to me and give me an honest answer why this is the case that would be great
In the cases of everybody I know, we all had always eaten badly before in our lives, becoming a regular smoker makes you loose your appetite when you are sober, I also was able to drastically change my eating habits by making healthy dinners, and then smoking, then there is a well made meal ready for you waiting. I lost a lot of weight when I started smoking because of this, while before I was too lazy to ever even prepare myself a healthy dinner. It is 100% based off of your previous lifestyle. I used to eat munchies all the time before.
I've started smoking weed last year and the past few months I've felt like I've lost weight cause I don't feel as fat as I useually do . And when I smoke weed I never get the munchies . But I useually eat a lot before smoking . So idk how I would be loosing weight . But it feels like I have been , any ideas .?
