you’re* And maybe you should not be so quick to judge. Reaching out for answers and seeking help is hard enough for these women. They do not need judgement from people who do not know them nor their situation. It is people like you who make others ashamed to come forward and get the information needed to help their unborn child and themselves. If someone is trying do not damn them by your standards. I do not need to tell you that you are not perfect. Everyone is different, but everyone is human. To those of you struggling, I admire you reaching out and I applaud your trying. Not that you need my nor ANY other approval of strangers, but I am proud of you. I watched a family member struggle with this and it is joy easy to watch... I can only imagine how hard it would be to actually be the one struggling. I wish you all the best and do not let anyone who is too closed minded and cold hearted to attempt to be compassionate and understanding to your situation discourage you from reaching out and pushing forward. You deserve a happy healthy life as much as anyone.

But to answer your question, I apologize for the earlier non related rant. Ignorance just pisses me off. And people who think they are better than others. In North Carolina they can test the baby without the mother’s consent. And they will if they suspect anything. This does NOT mean DSS/CPS will take your baby... They are not going to remove a child from its biological parents with such ease and little understanding. They are a little more advanced than that now days. You will have a case opened if you or your baby test positive for any drug. This also is no need for alarm if you are truly committed to your new precious baby and want to quit for him or her. This means they will visit you before you leave the hospital. They will do a home visit. You will have a few drugs tests before your case is closed. And if you continue to use and do not show any signs of caring or wanting to put your child’s wellbeing first then yes they can take your child. It is unfortunately getting less and less likely in NC for them to remove children from homes though. I find it sickening that it takes so much to remove a child from an abusive and alcohol or drug ridden home. But you sound genuinely concerned and I think you will be just fine! They may offer classes or a support group and please take it! It will definitely help your case and show you want to try. Best of luck!

If you legally "take drugs" mj is legal where I live...its less harmful than the anxiety pills and chemicals dr.s are try to pump into you. However i dont recommend smoking while pregnant since there are no studies on it. Still no need to be so judgemental its not like shes taking pills or doing heroin for gods sake. Shes using a plant for medicinal purposes as you would herbal supplements...the only negative is the actual smoking of it bc its bad for the developing lungs and your lungs as well. I love how people have preconceived ideas of how weed is the "devils lettuce" its like we are still in the 50s lol

Love your response. I smoked pot with both my daughters who turned out perfect and healthy. I had such bad morning sick was 24/7 I could not even keep down water. So what should I do not eat or drink harm myself and the baby or smoke a little pot and we both are OK. I agree people need to grow up. Pot is different than other drugs. They do need to get off their high horse and stop bothering moms to be. We have enough to worry about.

There are tons of studies that show no harm to the baby. Not one study done showed harm to the baby. Learn to do research before you open your judgemental mouth.

There actually is more proof that it does absolutely nothing. There was a study done in Jamaica where they followed the children from conception/birth to teens and there were no differences.

I totally agree with you...i just delivered a healthy baby boy...smoked the flower regularly because i had a pretty hard pregnancy and it aided in my pain...nausea...sleepless etc. I also suffered from extreme SPD where i could barely walk at 38/ 39 weeks...and pot helped at every turn...my boy is healthy...full term...and very alert at time of birth...matter fact he hardly cries and is so chill even as i sit here typing...so all the judgmental closed minded moms and such who believe its a drug that harms...your very very very wrong...and mind you this is my second child that i smoked flower through out pregnancy regularly...and regularly i mean id smoke either as needed or once before id go to bed at the end of the day. So its pretty hard proof that cannibis during pregnancy is quite alright and very harmless...even my two boys lungs and brain development are fully matured at time of birth. So i say personally moms your ok to smoke a little...

Maybe you should just shhhhh. For some people cbd, which contains trace amounts of thc can save a person from pain and anxiety way better than any pill, but of course you’re that perfect person who doesn’t even need a placebo
