I had novasure done the day before Thanksgiving. It did NOT work....I have my same heavy period right now and I am TICKED! Wasted time and money.

You need to go back to the doctor. My doctor said if the bleeding continued afterwards, we needed to discuss other causes.

I read everyone's experience with Novasure and am surprised of the results of their procedures. It's nice to know that I'm not the only woman who has had such abysmal results.
I had Novasure over two years ago and things were fine for about a year. My condition has worsened and there has been no reprieve now for two- three months at a time.
Has anyone had the procedure done again? Has anyone had a different version of ablation (balloon)?

Well I had my Novasure procedure on Friday Jan 11th. Today is Monday Jan 14th. I have had a teeny tiny amount of blood and that was on Friday.
Since then - not really any discharge. No cramps - no pain. So now - I sit back and wait to see if i am going to be one of the lucky ladies that doesnt have a period again or if it will just be really light. I hope that someone can use this as a success story -- all bodies are different. What may be bad for some, wont be bad for others.

I had the novasure proceedure done Dec. 10th/07 roughly
a week after my period.
For two weeks after the proceedure, I had watery, brown, bloody, yellow type discharge. On week three, thicker clearer, then yellowly
and back to bloody discharge. There was a slight but noticable
smell - not bad, but not fresh either! That came and went and I was
doing fine with the longer type mini pads/panty liners.
Last week, I started what I thought was a period for at least 4 days with
cramps and slight clotting. Nothing like before.
Then it stopped and then three days later, returned again. I am forever
wearing maxi pads <sigh> and I am way over the 6 week post op mark
and I am completely perplexed now if I am having a legit period
or if I am continually bleeding. I am bloated. No fever, no discharge,
no pain short of a weird inside burning feeling at times as well as
some sort of full uterine feeling. I take a blood thinner also which
I am going to take an educated guess that this is just aggravating
the whole situation. I must admit, I am not as clotty or heavy as
previously but its like having one continual period every day.
Is anyone or has anyone had this where the bleeding and pad
usage has gone on every day since the procedure? Has anyone experienced a puffy bloated type feeling?
I have been reading the healing time is can be extremely varied between
short healing times with no bleeding and long healing with.
Any advice from like minded in the same boat - I would greatly appreciate!

I had the novasure ablation done on 12/21 due to heavy bleeding and continuous spotting throughout the month and painful intercourse. I suffered extreme cramping immediately after surgery and minor cramping for a few days after. Not a lot of bleeding but yes LOTS of watery yellow discharge. I should have had a period by now, but so far none and no real PMS symptoms. I did experience bloating for a good three weeks after surgery. I too had intercourse after 3 weeks but was not very comfortable and had some spotting afterwards. Now 1 month later feel like myself again - but still having a stringy like yellow discharge. My sister had cryo ablation did not work and then the novasure which has since worked - she also had an ovary removed, don't know if that helped.
Hope this helps anyone out there

You might want to get yourself tested for a bleeding disorder called VonWillebrands. It's similar to hemophilia, but instead of completely missing the factors that make your blood clot as it should, you could be missing the Von Willebrand factor, making your blood take long to clot than it should. I've been dealing with this since puberty, now 36 and looking at NovaSure procedure, but I'm thinking it's probably not going to work - a full blown hysterectomy may be the way to go, eh?

Does anyone know the average cost of the Novasure procedure done as outpatient in a hospital under general anesthesia? Just wondering what the average possible hospital charges would be in Florida.
