I've had this problem most if my life, but usually when I have a bladder issue. My doctor laughed at me. However I found out that in reflexology, the bladder is located in the palm of the hand. That makes sense to me because that's where I hurt. My chiropractor told me to rub the palms of my hands and see if that helps.

Disagree.....have had this issue, along with many, many, other people, for years whenever I am having a UTI or irritated bladder issue. No other symptoms, just nerve pain in my fingers.

Hi BRANDYh, I know exactly what you are talking about.  I wasn't sure about asking this question because it is kind of out there but, SURPRISE, this question appears in web search quite often.  While I have no idea what the cause is, rest assured that you are not the only one and we all seem to be looking for an explanation.  Unfortunately, none seems to be forthcoming.  Hope you find an answer soon...for all of us!!

I find the same thing... A weird discomfort in palms and fingers if my bladder is very full and I may have waited too long. When I release the urine is when it happens. I know I do not have a bladder infection.  Tonight even my arms hurt, so I thought I would Google this and find a whole bunch of with the same problem.  Weird that there is no explanation for it. Mine just started up this year. I am 59 Year old female.

I have the same problem. If I wait to long my finger joints in my lef5 hand ache. Wait longer, both hands, wait even longer my jaw joints ache. I have had numerous surgeries. But this problem has only been for the last 10 years. I am 58. Everyone I ask just treats me like I am stupid,or worse that I am looking for drugs. So disheartening. I know it only lasts for a few seconds but I would like to know why.

I am a 68 year old male and my hands ACHE when I badly need to urinate.  It quits as soon as I start.  I have had this for years and my doctors and urologist just look at me with a "you are crazy" look.  I had heart valve urgery 20 years ago and this started a while after that surgery.  This happems only when I delay urinating.  This only occurs for urination not BM.  I have been told that there is no connection but I know there is

I am 66 year old male and have been experiencing pain in both hands as I release to urinate.  Hurts like hell for about 5 seconds and goes away.  I thought I was a weirdo and have not mentioned it to my doctor.  Glad to know I am not alone.  I do have an enlarged prostate and take Tamsulosin and Cialis for that condition.

I just went to the doctor today and was diagnosed with a urinary tract infection. I also was having tingling and pain in my fingers as I was experiencing pain while urinating. When I mentioned it, he didn't really react. It seems to me since we've all experienced this in one form or another there must be a nerve connection between the bladder and extremities. Probably nothing to worry about, just annoying. Glad I'm not the only one, although I do hope you all feel better

I can always tell when I am getting either a bladder or kidney infection by the pain in my hands. Under normal circumstances I have no pain when urinating. However when the bladder spasms that precede the infections start the pain is almost unbearable. I have this for over 20 years and not one of my doctors have ever heard of it. They are very kind but just shake their heads. It eases my mind a bit to hear others have similar or the same problem.

I am 49 female and have had this problem for a few years but much worse over the last two-I think I am getting a bladder infection and this is the trigger symptom for me but when the treatment stops I sometimes still have it-I have had bladder surgery and bowel surgery but no one can tell me why I get this sensation which starts when I get the urge to pass water then intensifies as I pee and then stops when the flow stops, its very strange and distressing and I wish I could make it stop. I usually just drink lots of water until it seems to pass but the earlier mention of uric acid build up may be worth looking into as I don't always have a bladder infection when I get the sensation.

interstitial cystitis? My urologist laughed at me as well when I told him of the pain in arms and hands whhile urinating. It can also be associated with Fibromyalgia and Multiple Sclerosis. Next time the doctor tells you he doesn't know what you're talking about, tell him to look it up on his computer, and you'll wait until he updates his education! 69 yr female

I just started with this problem yesterday. That is why I was looking to see if someone else had this. I felt pursuits and slight burning when urinating, then while finishing I felt a real strong sensation of electric type of tingling in both hands from the knuckles to the fingertips. It has happened 3 out of four times since it started.

Still getting it and over the last week I have gone down with a bladder infection and it was really bad with the hand sensations at the onset-I took a good quality Multi B vitamin since my last post and it has made no difference for me, which is a shame.
