Omg...i am having the exact same problem me and my husband have just started back ttc this will be the first month and a first for me second for him:-D. I started my cycle on the 5th of March it lasted until the 8th of March according to various ovulation calendars I was fertile between the 17th-22nd we had sex almost daily as we normally do. during the time of my O i was cramping, moody, tired etc. My period is due on the 3rd of April, on the 30th i started experiencing pinkish spotting i thought it was AF so I put in a tampon...went to replace it it 4 hrs later and it was hardly anything except for brownish blood and pink blood on tip (sorry tmi).   this has been going on everyday not even enough blood to soak a pad with all 3 days combined just small drops of blood not even enough to fill a dime sized area. It's now the 1st and Ive been searching the internet trying to find answers my period isnt even due for 2 days the blood is so minimum that I only notice when I wipe. I read online that you can have implantation bleeding for 1-3 days depending on what website you visit, I asked for advice from a friend and she told me with her second pregnancy she bled until her 4th week just spotting first redish pink then pink/brown(she has 3 healthy kids). I would feel really stupid going to a doctor just for him/her to tell me its my period.

@guest25 No way! You should never feel silly going to the doctor during this time. Have you done a hpt yet? Get on it the day (or a few days after) your period is actually due. Report back and let us know the result! Seems very probably that it could be implantation. Are you experiencing any other symptoms?

@Peace..I'm sorry to hear hun..thats such a pain! I went through the same thing, but finally got af last month. I only missed a month, and got it usual time the second month. But throughout my research I read that when ttc it isn't unusual to mis s af, but if you don't get it after three months you should then consult your Dr. In other words, two months missed is okay. Grrrr. So frustrating. But keep your head in the positive love. So, you got your af, and can start all over. Idk if you and hubbys schedules can make it happen, but my hubby and I are doing the 30 day trial this month. Cuz if all else fails, its fun!! lol.
Ovulating today, fertile days since last tuesday or wednesday, so hopefully our trial works out.
Much luck, dust, and love to all!!!

@TurtleLove- I guess you are right! I did notice women mention missing periods while TTC or cycles going off for some reason! I got my thyroid checked again just to be sure and it turned out fine! So back to TTC and gonna try alternate days this cycles! Good luck with your trial! Hoping this month is it for you!!!:) <3

Hi all!

So this is my first post (sorry it's so long), having just read every single post on this thread! I didn't get (implantation?) bleeding at all, so I probably shouldn't be posting here, but it seems like you guys are all lovely so I hope you'll let me share your baby hopes, woes and various symptoms!

My husband and I have just started TTC, with last month being our first cycle. Before that I was on Mirena, and had a regular cycle but a very light period - which is normal for Mirena. I had the IUD removed about two months ago, and my period was unchanged in terms of timing (but a bit heavier). I have always had a 27/28 day cycle, and *think* I ovulate at 14 days (from slight cramping/mittelschmerz, changes to CM etc). We did the BD every day for five days before, and then again for the day of and day after - then the waiting began!

Being an over eager kind of person, I imagined that every possible little thing that was different about my body this month was a sign I was pregnant - lots of heartburn a few days after ovulation (which I never normally have), wetter CM than normal, headaches etc - and I couldn't resist doing two HPT, which were both negative.

Sigh. So silly to test, I know, but I want this to happen as soon as possible! Basically, I have several blood disorders which make me get blood clots. I had a 40cm DVT and ended up in Intensive Care, and am on warfarin - rat poison - for life. Except that you can't take warfarin during pregnancies, so instead I have to inject myself every day. I started some weeks before my first cycle, so by the end of this month it will be 6 weeks - and then even if we are super lucky and we get a positive test soon, I know there's another 9 months of it ahead. So every time I think about the statistics, and about how most women take 12 months to get pregnant naturally, even if they are healthy etc (I'm otherwise fairly healthy and 29 years old) - my heart sinks, it really does. It's funny, because I don't actually mind the injections that much - it's more like we've had to meet with all these blood specialists, and I've been thinking "okay, we're ready now!" - and then there's nothing to do but wait!

I'm due to get my period tomorrow, and I'm going to test again then - but then I read all the (actually very helpful and optimistic!) stories about people who get neg tests for weeks and weeks of pregnancy, and I'm not sure what the point of it all is...it just makes me feel so awful when nothing comes up in that little window, I don't know whether there's any point doing it to myself... Plus, today I woke up with that faint but clear smell that my skin gets just before a period (does anyone else get it? slightly like iron? or is that just me? :) and it's made me even more sure that we're not in luck this time. I know I need to be patient, but IT'S SO HARD! Please give me strength! :)

Hi Elizabeth! Sorry to hear about all that you are having to deal with alongside TTC itself! I hope it works out fine for you and you get your BFP this month! Just try not to test too early dear. Give it a week or two for your positive to show up from the date of your missed period. That way you are less likely to be disappointed with early negatives but then again I know its soo hard to wait! Hang in there!:) Sending lotsa baby dust your way! * tc

Elizabeth,

You are not alone in your story! My husband & I have been trying for 4 months now, and I get the exact same feeling every time I test and see a BFN. My heart sinks and I wonder what's wrong with me. It's such a struggle. Now I don't even take HPT anymore, I just wait to see if AF arrives. Right now I am in my 2WW and my husband talks about it every day, I think he wants it to happen more than I do, which is going to make it worse if it doesn't happen this month. Just keep a positive attitude, and know that it will happen when it's supposed to. (easier said than done, I know.) Thanks for sharing your story!!

Elizabeth, thank you for sharing your story. Can imagine this is a very strenuous time for you in many ways. (Can't imagine having to inject myself! All the doctors I go to find me an odd case because as soon as I'm stuck with a needle, all the nerves in my body quiver and I shake like I've got hypothermia! No kidding!)

The first few months off of BC are difficult for many women too, as I have researched. So even if you test a BFN right now, just think, "O.K.! Next Month! Next Month it is!" This is a time for you to be relaxed, and to take extra special care of yourself. Lots of green tea/ginger tea/hot lemon water. Eat your greens and be healthy and happy! Stressing over symptoms may just stress your pituitary and give you stress related symptoms that feel like pregnancy. (Can probably say a few of us have dealt with that monster over the past few months.)

That terrible (-) is just awful. We can all agree to that one! I even tried the ovulation kit and most of the time, the face was :( and that didn't help my mood either haha!

Please sign on and spill your concerns and woes. We are all here with you on this journey. Most important of all, be sure to report back with that BFP!

@Peace, @KT84, @Tobiloh: Thanks so much for your lovely words, guys! It really helps to know we're not alone in all this.

My period was due yesterday, and I succumbed to the temptation and tested...unsurprisingly, nothing:-):-):-)

In fact though, I'd almost reconciled myself to it being a failed month, but now my period's a day late (which it never normally is...) and it's getting my hopes up again. Gah!

Hi everyone - how are you all going? Any updates?

No news here - I did get my period (heavy/painful/horrid - makes me realise how easy I had it with years of Implanon and then Mirena!). So it's back to square one. Humphh.

Quick poll (very personal questions, so I don't mind if no-one wants to share!):

1. Do you know exactly when you ovulate?

2. If so, how did you work it out? (Using the sticks/digital test/thermometer/pain, CM or symptoms/getting tested by a doctor?) If not, what's your method for trying to get the timing right? (doing the BD every day/every second day/guessing based on half a cycle?)

3. If you do know, is it the same every month? Do you check it every month? If there is some variation, by how many days?

My answers are:

1. No - I haven't checked via any reliable method, so I don't know for sure.

2. I have guessed based mainly on symptoms; I get serious cramps (sudden twinges mainly) at least one day at about mid-cycle. So I've assumed that's mittelschmerz - but this cycle I am going to use the First Response pee sticks to check that that's correct. My doctor suggested using a thermometer instead; I asked him whether the sticks are reliable, and he said "I don't know - but if they were, wouldn't we be using them?" - so there's that eh

3. I have been using a free app on my phone that predicts ovulation based on past periods - but usually I've just glanced at it when I've had spasms and thought "oh yeah, that's about right" - I haven't actually marked down when it has happened vs when the app thinks it should happen - so I'm not sure how far out it is. Depending on what happens with the sticks, I'm thinking I should get a thermometer and start working it out that way - at least then I would know every month, not just based on one cycle.

Sending happy thoughts to each of you!

Elizabeth

I have a question for any and all..
Hubby and I made a point in having sex everyday during my fertile stage..and almost every other day after, so far. Af is sure on wednesday..but, I've noticed alot of cm since ovulation. I know they say not to count discharge for a couple of days to a week after sex, so I'm not putting a while lot of hope into the cm I'm getting being a sign of pg, but I had heard that an abundance of cm is a sure sign if early pg.
Has any one ever heard of a continual amount, not abundant so much, of cm in early pg?

Hi Elizabeth!

Ans 1: I dont think its possible to exactly pinpoint Ovulation time no matter what method you use. Ive been watching my cum closely(sorry TMI) to see how it changes during my cycle and now I can tell that im ovulating around the time my cum is the clear egg white stretchy type. And this happens only ovulation time with the cum being slightly different/ thicker/ non existent at other times during the cycle.

Ans2: It hasnt worked out yet for me, even though this Jan we DTD everyday and I subsequently missed two periods(never missed one before ever!) and almost started believing that im pregnant but it turned out I wasnt/ had a chemical pregnancy! Also our doc suggested its best not to do it so frequently and just stick to doing it on alternate days to ensure sperm concentration that might increase our chances. Thats what we are doing now and hoping it works this time around!:)

Ans3: I have the app too and I use it to just keep track of my cycles now. Read extensively that a woman can ovulate any time during her cycle/ not ovulate and still hve a normal period that cycle. So now we have started BDing on alternate days throughout the month and just keep our fingers crossed:) Good luck to you!:) hope you get your BFP soon! Also ive tried to stop worrying about it all the time! Ive read that it takes normal couples about a year to conceive naturally and even our doc concurred on that one. If you dont conceive within that one yr of trying is when you need to see the doc and try fertility treatments etc. Its all about timing i guess!
