i had my mirena removed in June of this year. that month i felt for sure i was pregnant. i had swollen tender breasts, increased urinating, bizarre dreams, increased appetite, runny nose, constipation. i took at least 25 hpt all were negative. i was so heartbroken and distraught. people were going to think i was crazy!! and they did. people kept telling me this was all in my head, i wanted to be pregnant so bad my mind was telling me I was. I am a nurse, so what was I thinking? I did some research. Some women, not all, will experience a surge of hormones that makes them feel pregnant immediately after having an IUD removed. I experienced these symptoms for one month only then they went away with my cycle. My cycles have been irregular. I was pretty regular prior to IUDs. I had the copper IUD first for the entire 10 years, 28 day cycle right on time. I had Mirena for 1 year exactly. My cycles have been 31 days 33 days 34 days and 30 days. I have had a range of spotting to heavy bleeding. No consistency.
I would like to know if anyone knows of a person that has had two c-sections and an IUD for over 10 years who conceived. I need some hope.

I had iud for 2 years had it taken in out in 2009 I have not been able to get pregnate since. Had a fertility blood test came back normal.....now coming into 2015 still no pregnancy. I am so lost I have no idea what else to do. My doctor refuses to do further test because I am 27 years old and I "still have time" my daughter is now 8 years old.

I to am having trouble conceiving. I got my our out the 11 of March and I just took a test 2 see if we were pregnant& it was a negative. It's been a month and a half and still nothing and I'm starting 2 freak out.
i had the iud for about a month had to get it out because sharp pain all day every day (so bad i would cry) been trying to get prego ever sence an i got nothing! ITS GOING ON 3 YRS!!!!

I'm having some of the same issues. But I have 2 kids already. Had iud for 7 years and now my ovaries have quit producing. My ob says it has nothing to do with mirena. I don't belie ve him. I'm 27 ovaries don't just quit for no reason

I know this post is a year old at this point but I've had 2 mirenas for a total of 7 years. I had the second one expire and removed in May and I've been TTC since I had it removed. I finally got pregnant in Aug's cycle (4th) only to miscarry a week after I found out. I also think my lining is too thin to support a healthy pregnancy and if I get pregnant again this cycle the same thing will happen again. My cycles

I think that way as well God is telling me not now. But I had mines removed almost 3yrs ago and I still haven't got pregnant.
I had my mirena removed January 2015 after having it 5 yrs with no problems. I have been trying to get pregnant ever since no luck. There are alot of women in my similar situation and it's crazy they say mirena does not affect women trying to get pregnant, I think otherwise. My husband and I are very active in bed and started as soon as it came out almost 9 months later and nothing. I had horrible side affects after it came out and it lasted about a month. I'm wondering if I will ever be able to have another kid. This is heartbreaking because my husband does not have any children and I'm not sure if I will ever be able to give him any.
WOW I too have the same problems that you mentioned. I had the mirena for 3 years took it out in 2013 & have not been pregnant once. Its coming up on a year that I have been trying and nothing and I have thought I was too many times to count. Every month I experience pregnancy symptoms but still no baby I have been to the doctor a few times at first I got BC pills which I took for 3 mos, then after I have been trying I did the ovul. predictor & everything. Just curious have you been successful conceiving yet?
I am in the same situation. I had the mirena for 3 years & took it out in 2013. In 2014 I met my fiancé who doesn't have any kids but excepts my 2 like his own, but I want to give him one but no luck. I am realizing that the mirena may have prevented this. Just wondering if you had any luck yet?
