I'm going through the same thing myself, so I know exactly how you feel. What seems to help me out is taking a couple pepto-bismol tablets before i have a meeting. The noise just simply disappears. Hopefully this will help you out. GOD Bless

I am fourteen as well and I have been having these stomach growls since seventh grade but it got worse in eigth grade. Now I am in highschool and in the beggiging of the yyear it wasn't that bad but now its terrible. I get so embarssed. There have been times when it got bad and I would have to make an excuse to leave class so I won't fell embrassed. What make it even worse is that my biology class has seats that are really close to each other and its so annoying. I have to even tap on the desks so peope won't hear my stomach. This stomach growling has taken over my school life and its really annoying and embarassing. Some things that helps is taking onne tums. If its really bad I take two. But I don't take them everyday. Geez. My life would be so much easy without this.

well, i didnt find any leprocans, so i ate a unicorn. only it didn't come out, but the growling stopped.Sadly, sometimes its horn poked me HARD. In the middle of the night, the unicorn calls for its brothers and i cant get it to shut up.

All things are possible in god. I'm expriencing these noises at thirteen and i use to never have them. Even when im in class it never happens, but one day it suddenly made the hungry growls, but I swear! I wasnt hungry! It was mild, but someone sitting next to me could hear it. It was embarrissing so I asked to go to the washroom. Next day. It stopped And i was glad, I thought maybe i did not digest my food properly or i had gas. But sadly, I was wrong... Next week, it started up again! Everyday in class it happened, and we always silent read in class which made the grumbles louder, and made me nervous. I try so hard for it to stop, I read all the comments and honestly, you people are kinda scaring me... :-P I cry every night praying to god for it to stop. I dont want this to affect my life, friendship, or class... I really hope it calms down soon! Im so upset, that no one but why me, all of a sudden this happens?? Its unfair, and I feel horrible for you guys. I will pray for all of you.

Im 15 and my stomache used to growl all the time, but it started to go, but now my lower intestines make louder noises, its weird and worse. But if you think about your belly rumbling in class, then it will go off, if you forget about it.. it does'nt rumble, simplez. :)

dont worry "thirteen year old", with your faith it will go away. I also have these growls, its been a year now. I burp a lot actually and when I dont the air moves in my intestines and makes noise. Go to the following Bible Scriptures for help: Act 4 10, Acts 4 30, Malachy 4 2 Jeremiah 33 6.
take care and be blessed in the Holy Spirit, it will be ok.

Hi! My stomach have been making noises for many years already but recently it had gotten so bad after a stomach flu. Doctor says that my stomach has too much wind and gave me medicine but it doesnt seem to be very effective! I have been throwing up everyday and my schoolwork is definately affected quite alot.. I've avoided oily, spicy, fried food and cold drinks (and milk) but it doesnt solve anything too. Worse, the medicine taste real horrible and my boyfriend nags at me until i drink it. How? :(! Any suggestions?? Help!

Hello Everyone,

I understand how everyone feels. Stomach grumbling is definitely not an easy situation to deal with. I most definitely hate when people say “Just laugh about it!” because that is really not something easy to do. I do not like reading how people have let it affect their lives to the extent that they quit school or change their career path, when it is something they are interested in. My stomach grumbling problems began in the beginning of my senior year in high school (I remember it perfectly.) and even now already on my second year of college I still have this problem. It is very horrible because I am constantly in a quiet environment, and what is worse is that it has caused my anxiety to grow worse. For those of you who don’t know, this problem could cause anxiety and as a result, the anxiety will in turn start causing your grumbling. So a way to definitely help cure this problem is to go visit a psychologist. I went and during that semester I was with her, it really did help a lot. She will repeat to you all the things you all probably already know… Exercise every day, drink 8 cups of water a day, get 6 to 8 hours of sleep, and eat healthy (for people like us definitely avoid foods that cause gas). She will also help you manage your stress as this also leads to stomach grumbling. In addition to psychologist you should also visit your doctor although he will probably tell you the same thing, but you never know what additional information he could tell you. What is important is that you MUST follow all of these advice, not just one but ALL, in order for things to take in effect. It is difficult, yes, but it is extremely healthy and will definitely help your stomach grumbling situations.

For those of you who are religious… I am not too religious myself, but I definitely pray to myself whenever 24/7. My mom and sister have always prayed for me whenever I go to class as well and it definitely works wonders sometimes. I definitely feel a lot safer and better going into a class when I have faith someone is watching over me, whoever it may be.

And finally my last piece of advice is that you should always try to feel comfortable. For myself I have notice that my grumbling usually comes from the left side, so I try to sit in the left side of classes and as you feel more comfortable, you will slowly think less about your stomach. It is also important to have people that understand your situation, for example, in class surround yourself with your friends that will support you in your time of need and if anything make you feel comfortable even if your stomach grumbles (as if they were your family members, because I could honestly care less if my stomach grumbles next to my mother or sisters). You could also explain the situation to your teacher so that maybe you could take tests by yourself, and so that they understand that you may need to take frequent breaks in class.

Tips: Whenever you feel your stomach is about to grumble make sure to make some noise, such as a cough or shuffle papers around (sometimes some grumblings are inevitable, but they are soft enough so that this should cover it).

Tips: Always have snacks on you (try to avoid stomach grumbling because of hunger as much as possible).  In addition, snacks tend to help people with anxiety calm down, but do not over do it!

Tips: Make sure to always use the restroom before you leave your home or whenever possible. You should even take some meds that help you clean out your system. You could also take meds that prevent gas like Gas-X  or some that help you improve your colon health.

Tips: I always keep gum on me. I do not really know if this helps or how it helps, but I know sometimes it helps me calm down. Also, it seems to clear out your stomach as am always hungry after. So if you do this, it is really important to have snacks on you. (If gums isn’t allowed, try mints as a substitute.)

I hope this helps in some way. This is definitely not an easy situation to deal with especially if you have anxiety on top of it. Just think healthy and stay strong and we can all get through this! Sometimes it is important to think that it is just grumbling and that you should not let it affect your life. I know this is difficult to understand, trust me I hate it too, but if you repeat that to yourself over and over again, sometimes you will feel more calm and stronger!

I have a similar problem, my gastrointerologist says it is a condition called "boborygmi". It has been a really irritating problem during the last eight or nine months. I have taken a few steps that have made things better, because the doctor said that there was nothing he could do ( I think that means there is no pharmicutical solution that I would be addicted to for the rest of my life). First is to build good intestinal flora via probiotics (yoghurt, salami, sourdough bread...), next is to excercise regularly, even a good walk helps, eat dried fruit for better bowel clearance, and don't overeat, especially at night. It takes some effort, but things can get better
