Have you gotten checked for gerd or peptic ulcers? That could be a big part of it. Try taking pepcid or prilosec (prilosec is better). If it doesnt help maybe you should try getting an endoscopy to make sure its not something more serious!

It's been 5 years since you posted this... a lot has come to light about how debilitating being gluten intolerant is, at the time you said  "I'm gluten intolerant and have a bacterial imbalance in my large intestine. That's all I know really. " I'm pretty sure this is what's wrong with you and I'm not a doctor. No more gluten everrr.

Please everyone check your thyroid fully. Get the full tests not just the TSH. Look for hypothyroidism, hashimotos disease, graves disease, and gut health. Especially gluten and lactose intolerances. Good luck, I hate it too. Consider the specific carbohydrate diet seriously.

You should check your pancreas to see if it's producing enzymes to break down your food correctly it can be absorbed into tour system. If its not, you could be suffering malabsorption or a form of pancreatitis.

have you been checked for Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori). My 7 year old granddaughter got to the point she was carrying a puke container every where she went. Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) is sometimes not thought of but might be a good thing to suggest to your doctor.

I go through the same thing. I've found that it was preservatives in food. And if you eat rice, you're definitely going to get that feeling from the BHT they put in rice. Oils are usually preserved with BHA. So, definitely look into getting imported oils to cook with and do not try to eat out as much. You will have to go on a strict diet of cooking yourself, but do not bother with grains because they preserve all grains with BHT. Especially cereal. I finally found out whats been nearly killing me. No doctor will know because by the time you sit there and go through all the tests, your body has tried to break down some of it. But defiitely if you eat any foods containing this, you're going to bloat, feel fuzzy brained, feel lethargic, you're stomach is going to pain and hurt. And you're going to gain weight at a rapid pace. It will definitely give you acid reflux. To counteract most of these symptoms, I take Papaya enzymes. I also take MSM. The sulfur in MSM helps your body to break down the buildup of preservatives at a rapid pace. Or anything you eat. So does Papaya.

I feel your pain, brother. I have the same bizzare problem. I'm 27 and have been searching for answers for a long time and can suggest few things. The first would be, if you don't have to take psych meds, don't. I recently detoxed after taking them for 10 years and it was like coming off of heroine, and I, like you, didn't feel better from taking them at all at first, I just became dependent on them over a period of time.
Secondly, try homeopathy. I know a lot of people think it's quack stuff, but it's one of the only things that has started to get some of my symptoms to start to heal, and it addresses the emotion side as well as the physical side at once. It's good stuff, really. See a real homeopath, don't try to do it yourself though.
And thirdly... Here's what I think about us weirdos who can't eat anything. Perhaps we are hypersensitives. Perhaps the foods have become so genetically modified, so processed, that certain people cannot digest the damn stuff. So I would at least TRY going the extremely healthy route which is: only eating organic, non genetically modified fresh foods that don't have preservatives, high fructose corn syrup or MSG in it. And then figure out everything in between that you can and cannot tolerate. The only explanation I have found for this is what the-way-out there new age people talk about and that is that the newer generations are coming in with a different "frequency" or "dna" code and that we require a different fuel (food) to run properly. If we don't get it, we get sick. I would look up Indigo, Crystal, and Rainbow children. Whether this theory is true or not, there is something to be said for the fact that we have to find out what works for us, even if the rest of the world seems to be able to tolerate these types of foods. Good luck, and please post if you find out anything new!

I'm a 16 year old female, and I have the same problem. I, also, have hyperthyroidism, and my doctor does not think that this is causing it. I came here to look for possible things it could be, but I deinitely don't think that hypo/hyperthyroidism is the cause of this. At first, I thought that this only happened to me when I ate in public, because I start to feel very sick and anxious when I eat in public, but my mom said I do it at home, too. I was just eating some breakfast and started to feel sick, and realized I do it almost every time I eat (in public or not), I really would just like some answers, and I wish all of you luck, also.

You have celiac disease. It runs in my family and sounds identical to their experiences. Cut out anything wheat and gluten. Get the celiac test, but know that it very often shows a false negative.
