I'm currently studying medisin at the university of Tromsoe iin Norway. I read about the id**t proof diet on their website, and I have to agree to everything it says about the id**t proof diet there. So I guess I'm gonna give it a shot taken that the info is real enough. I'll give you guys an update as how it woks out.
Regards, Daniel
(PS: I am not fat, not even a little. I train and I guess I could call myself "normal\a bit athletic" built. I just need to lose some weight before my six pack shows up. Damn those beers I keep drinking every week at parties)

I've been on the id**t Proof Diet for the last 7 days now and have lost 6 lbs. I'm just concerned, though, that this diet is too high in protein and too low in carbs. Some websites state that low carb diets are not very healthy.
Also, once you reach your desired weight, it looks like the Protein/Carb list they provide is very limited. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Would appreciate any advice.
Thank you.
Kathy

Don't worry about going low-carb. Worry about the kinds of carbs you eat when you DO eat carbs. If you're eating high protien AND potato chips, AND white bread, AND creamed corn, then yes. You should worry.
If you're eating high protien AND broccoli, AND salad, AND whole fruit, then don't worry. You can eat less protein and feel fuller for longer. The carbs are what makes your blood sugar drop quickly and leaves you feeling hungry faster.
Don't forget to take a multi-vitamin just in case your high protein diet is a little off balanace, but don't sweat it. I did Atkins years ago and brought my cholesterol and triglycerides WAY down while on it. But the carbs I chose were extremely healthy ones.
All the best,
Heather

I've been on the id**t Proof Diet for 28 days.
Does it work?
YES! more then you'd ever imagine.
20lbs and 6inches from my waist---but more then that? It's completely changed my outlook on what kinds of food I've been eating and the ridiculous amounts.
Do try this, people. It's not a scam. It really really works.

Hi all, I'm so glad I found this forum. I just started the id**t proof diet, today is day 1. I'm happy to see that so many people have had success. The combinations are really odd especially because I eat Kosher so that cheese and chicken combo was almost a problem for me. My only real concern now is that I've felt weak and had a headache almost the whole day. I ate all 4 meals until I was satisfied and I waited 3 or 4 hours between each meal. Has anyone else had this experience. I usually eat a lot of sweets and carbs, could this be the cause? Anyway I'll keep you posted on my progress.

Hi Suzy or any one else out there who can help.
I need to lose about 70 pounds and I don't have the funds to pay for something. Is there way to find out what the fat burning foods are for this diet or any tips that you could pass along?

Hi suzyM, you probably have a lot of responses by now, is there room for anymore? :D :D

first I should mention I only have about 10pounds to lose, and I don't overeat (I eat about 1300-1400 calories a day) and workout for 30-60 minutes of cardio and strength a day and my weight will not change. I want so much to lose 10 pounds and I guess out of complete desperation I just purchased the diet and I'm already starting to feel a little regretful.
What I'm worried about is how on earth this diet will work for someone who has little to lose when the caloric intake on the diet is about 2000+ calories a day!! If you have a history of being strict with calories then you might have a problem with this diet. I was just so disappointed when I saw the menu and thought my God if I eat all this high calorie and high fat I'm going to gain 10 pounds! o.O
It's very high calorie and high fat and this goes against everything I know about dieting.
example...a meal of cashews or macadamia nuts?? That's like 800cals in one cup of cashews right there. Then have cheese slices?? I know they say we don;t have to count calories but come on now you can't go eating 3000 calories a day and lose weight when you need to be ouit 3,500 calories to lose one lousy pound. 8-|
This diet seems really weird, wrong and gimmicky but the reviews had me convinced that thos might work and now it looks like I'm out 40.00 dollars and seeing as nothing has worked to make me lose 10 stubborn pounds I'll give this diet a try starting tomorrow and let you all know how it works in 11 days.
stay tuned

Hi,
I want to lose a few pounds so I though I'd try this diet too. The idea of eating whatever I wanted appealed to me and tricking my metabolism made perfect sense.
However, I was wrong. I believe you CAN lose weight with this diet, but you are bound to gain it all back once you've finished. For example, the first non-truth about this diet is that you can eat whatever you want. Once you pay, you are given acces to a 'diet calculator' that is supposed to prepare your diet plan for you. They give you a selection of foods to choose from and there are a lot of good foods but its definately not 'whatever I want'.
Once you choose your foods the calculator creates an 11 day meal plan for you. This is where they lost me. The foods are meals but not anything I can cook for my whole family and not anything i can see myself eating after. One of my days was fruit only and 1 (one) sandwich. ??????? Another meal was sausage links and turkey slices. Another one was scrambled eggs, shrimp, and vegetables. Oh I have to mention the hard boiled eggs and roast beef slices.
If I eat this stuff for 11 days of course you'll lose weight, but this is just another one of those diet scams. If you are going to try this you need to have some sort of physical activity as well or you are going to be upset on day 13 when you weigh yourself and all the original weight is back.
Try at your own risk!

I started this diet on January 1st, 2007. As of today, I've lost 24 lbs. I feel great and am so encouraged by the weightloss. It's so easy to do. You just have to decide to be very dedicated and determined. It's also very important to exercise. Just 30 minute walks each day works for me. I did just recently incorporate a three-day-a-week toning routing to my exercise. I do the cario/fat burning walking, eliptical or treadmill each day and then just 3 days a week I use the toning machines. I would recommend this diet to anyone who wants to lose weight quickly and easily. I have three friends now who are on this same diet and they too are very happy with it. My sister in law is the one who clued me into this particular diet and she's been very successful. The only thing I will say is that there isn't much variet on the food lists. I do get a little tired of lunch meat and chicken and nuts. I love my frozen yogurt days though! The most I have gained back on my "free days" is 2 lbs. I usually drop the added lbs pretty quickly when I start the next 11 day session. I plan to continue using this diet to reach my goal weight loss of 30lbs. Then I will manage my weight on my own and if I see a significant increase in weight then I will always use this diet to drop the added pounds.

I am curious how this turned out for those of you who tried it. I am interested, but since their web site looks so unprofessional, I am concerned that this is just another scam. Any thoughts?

Well I can assure you that it is a scam. Yes, the website looks unprofessional and the diet is not well designed or very professional also. There is nobody to contact if you have any questions/concerns.
I was interested in the diet and spent 39.00 on it...what a total waste of money! :$ There is nothing in this diet that we don't already know. If you reduce your caloric intake you'll lose weight!
I don't buy into the whole concept of metabolism confusion as there is no such thing and nothing in medical literature to support this nonesense. There really is no calorie counting and they claim you can eat as much as you want BUT of course you can't eat as much as you want and lose weight! That is almost as ridiculous as their other claim of losing 9 pounds in 11 days! 8-| Always be careful of diets with outrageous claims.
The diet goes like this...You get 4 meals a day consisting of regular foods like cottage cheese, apple, peanuts etc ...so the meals are never actual meals, they are more like 4 snacks and sometimes they are high calories like the choice of a meal of peanuts which I thought was really weird because one cup of peanuts is 800 cals, but because so many of the days on this diet do not total more than 600-700 calories a day I guess it's okay if on some days they throw in a meal of cashews or peanuts.
Bottom line is calorie reduction is the only thing that works for weight loss and all diets do just that to one degree or another. This diet is no different. They just call snacks meals and throw in really gross food combinations to make sure you do not want to eat the unappealing meal.
This is another calorie reduced diet that fools you into thinking that it's not..at the end of 11 days you get 3 days to cheat or eat whatever you want. Well I don't like this idea one bit as this obviously does nothing to teach anyone how to eat for life, it's just another fad diet with big promises and claims teaching you to starve for 11 days and overeat for 3...wow what a healthy concept! 8-|
Another weird thing is that they say that makes no sense is that working out is a waste of time and it's best to just take walks. Walking is good for you but come on ..to say working out is a waste of time goes against every weight loss principle known to successful dieters and to discourage dieters from working out says it all about this stupid diet.
Everyone knows the only sure way to lose weight is to reduce calories and increase activity...the only waste of time and not to mention money is this diet!!
