After a stressful year, he has had a horrible outbreak that we don't know what to do about. I would estimate 60-70 percent of his head is impacted, and it seems like he loses more hair everyday. We have tried doxycycline, bactrim, Cephalexin, Eythromicin, and are waiting on another biopsy result for the next medication. In terms of natural remedies, we have tried olive oil, tee tree, probiotics, diet changes, anti bacterial shampoos and even washing with Hibiclens--an anti staph soap when things got bad. I'm hoping to come back and update after the medication from the next biopsy works and tell you all about the magic cure, but I'm not feeling very hopeful. We definitely need more research on it. So with that in mind, what do you guys do to mask the damage besides a hat? The redness and hair loss is very noticeable. He is embarrassed to go to work and places like church where people sit and stare at the back of his head...places where wearing a hat isn't as socially acceptable.
Western medicine made things worse for me especially antibiotics. I’m so sorry you are going through this it’s a devastating condition. Antibiotics destroy gut flora which increases inflammation and cause fungal infections which can affect all areas of the body including skin. ashwagandha drastically lessen the condition I don’t know how exactly. Stinging nettle eradicates inflammations all over. A good and high count probiotics is necessary to rebuild gut health as well as pre and probiotic rich foods. Sugar and carbs free diet to kill candida. Try to consume lots of garlic and turmeric in your diet. Celery juice first thing in the morning on an empty stomach half an hour before eating. I’ve recently read about people who have had success with hydrogen peroxide diluted or directly onto the affected area ( don’t know what %). Acidophilus Probiotic strain also produces hydrogen peroxide naturally in the body which kills off both bacteria and candida. Pau d’arco one of the best candida fighting herbs out there. Make sure these things don’t react with other medications.
