So glad that I found this site. I am shock to see so many people share the similar skin condition.
I use to have adolescent acne issue and have still have very dry face.
Recently I suffer for this problem. When I wash my face at night I will notice itchiness and redness around my eyelid, and next morning my eyelid that had the redness will swell. Later in the day there will be rashes on my cheek, and bristers discharging oil will form. These bristers will form acnes then stay for around 4 days (leaving some scar).
I went to the allergist and tested positive for grass pollen and dust mite, however the doctor said my issue is not related to allergy and recommended me to see a dermatologist. I have yet to see the dermatologist and yet to find the cause or solution.
Here is my speculations.
It could be hormone or stress related (a more healthy lifestyle and practice like meditation may help).
It could be diet related. (I recently started to eat apples daily and less meat/heavy diet and there was some improvement (maybe)) .
I don't think just changing lifestyle or self treatment will solve the problem, so seeing doctor is a must.
If anyone had suffered the same problem and cured it, please let me know. And I hope everyone find a cure for their problem soon.

I have a friend with similar symptoms and it could be a few things like an auto immune disorder like systematic lupus due to an antacid drug or an over abundance of histamine in your body but you need to see a dermatologist and ask to be tested for these things including blood work for a B 12 defunct and s magnesium and DAO defiency. Hope this helps! Good luck!

A year ago I had several weeks of styes and eye problems, They eventually cleared up. At Christmas 2017 I noticed a red rash on my neck which has appeared intermittently since. My doctor (in France) put it down to stress and prescribed a cortisone cream which didn't help. I have always had a slightly furry face especially the sides of my cheeks. The little hairs have disappeared over the last 2 months. Two days ago I noticed that my lower face on both sides was swelling up with a lumpy rash and my neck rash was worse. Yesterday I woke up with a very swollen lower face, red marks under my eyes across my cheeks and tiny eyes. The doctor thinks it is an allergy and has prescribed Medrol and an anti-histamine. Any ideas whether these symptoms are all part of the same thing, anyone?? Only the second day of taking Medrol but no change yet. I have never had allergies before. I am 72 years old.

Hi Rachel, I would be keen to go this with you if you are still ingested? I realise your post was from a year ago but I came across it as I am suffering the same symptoms that your had described in your post. Hopefully your have cleared up the issue now but if now, then we can compare notes, and if your have of line to know what your used to soothe things while your had it, rust things worked for your, what didn't, and what the condition was.

Warm wishes, Puja
