:-) Wow! This blog topic is still going. I made my comments last April and just ran across this blog again. One thing I will note is that most people are really Juice Plus supporters or real haters. Everything I've read in relation to the research would suggest that the results are questionable and the testimonials are not believable in most cases. I will admit that my 97 year old grandmother does seem to be doing quite well since she started taking Juice Plus. I tend to think that it's a result of the "placebo affect", which can be a power remedy. For myself, the "placebo" affect won't work because I really don't believe the product is anything more than fruit/vegetable powder with vitamin supplements.
Does anyone use Juice Plus and has GERD? IF so please let me know how it works for you.
I don't understand what all the fuss is about. I'm very surprised at how much fighting and bickering is going on all over the internet about a fruit/veggie powder capsule. It's unreasonable. We're not talking about a cure for cancer .... we're talking about fruit/veggie powder.
I've read all the info and testimonials and responses and critical reviews on the web ... spent so many hours reading and digesting the info, trying to decide if Juice Plus is really a scam, or if it really is beneficial to our bodies. Trying to wade through all the opinions of strangers online.
The conclusions I've come to:
(#1) Juice Plus is just a fruit/veggie powder supplement that helps get a little extra fruit/veggies plus some added vitamins into you. That's it. It's not a cure for cancer .... or asthma .... or allergies .... or anything. It's JUST a little extra fruit/veggies in your diet. The selling point comes from the fact that it's quick and easy to add into your daily life.
(#2) I've read about complaints that the manufacturer paid for the studies. Maybe people don't realize this, but that is normal operating procedure. Pharma companies do it all the time - they pay to have their own products tested, and sponsor their own studies. Yet no one has any problem with taking the pills that they get at the drugstore that come from a company that paid for the testing on them. Why is Juice Plus any different? It's not. And I do not believe that it's fair to Juice Plus to criticize them for doing something that all the other Pharma companies do. Who else is going to pay to have a company's product tested? A different company? Pharma does it all the time, yet no one mentions that. So based on that, I fully expect that Juice Plus would pay for it's own studies. Why wouldn't it? So that's fine by me.
(#3) the other biggie I read about a lot is the varying testing results as to it's performance. Well, since it's just fruit and veggie powder .... I guess so. It's like the studies on garlic or oregano oil or whatever other FOOD is out there being tested. Because it's just a food, not a prescription strength chemical, results are going to vary. It's just powdered food. But people still take the garlic, and oregano oil, and other herbs even without "double blind, placebo controlled" studies .... because they believe in the HEALTHY BENEFIT that nature provides through healthy foods and herbs. They don't need a double-blind placebo controlled study to tell them that nature provides good stuff for our health in healthy foods (like fruit and veggies). To some people, that is common sense. I guess I'm one of those people, because I think fruit and veggie powder can only be good for you .... can't hurt to get a little extra in our diets. Now, that being said, if I get sick am I going to reject my doctor's prescription for Juice Plus? Heck no! It's just fruit/veggie powder! If I need antibiotics you better believe I'm taking antibiotics. But as a daily supplement, just something to take, quick and easy, to get a little extra fruits/veggies in me ... sure! I'm good with that.
(#4) And ... the Gummies. It bothered me A LOT that the gummies are about 90% corn syup and gelatin. But you know what? I started thinking about it, and it makes sense. It's a GUMMY. In order to get the GUMMY consistency ..... how do you think they do that? What do you think they use to make a gummy a gummy? to have the soft gummy texture, it;s going to have to be mostly corn syrup and gelatin. Otherwise it'll be too hard to chew. What's important is that they get the fruit/veggie powder mixed in there. Yes, it's only 10%. but guess what? When you consider that 1 adult capsule is about equal to 3 gummies, and when you compare the size of the gummies to the amount in 1/3 adult capsule, you can see how you'd only need a small amount of powder in that gummy to get the necessary daily serving amount. Because the amount of fruit/veggie powder is small compared to the gummy ingredients, you need to take 3 gummies to get the cumulative effect. That makes sense. It reminds me of how my grandma used mix a little shaved carrots into jello. It's just a little carrots, but when mixed into jello, she managed to get me to eat those carrots. Yes, I ate the jello too .... but I also ate the carrots. And that's the point. Yes .... the kids are going to eat all the corn syrup and gelatin that gummy (it's a GUMMY!) but they are also going to get a little fruit/veggie in there too. And if they eat 6 a day (3 fruit and 3 veggie), then that's an easy way to get a little extra fruit/veggies in them. So I'm okay with that.
(#5) Oh and about the added vitamins .... I've read a lot of people online who say that the Gummies contain too much added vitamin A. That is completely untrue. The Gummies contain NO added synthetic vitamin A at all. What the Gummies contain is BETA CAROTENE which different than synthetic vitamin A. BETA CAROTENE is CONVERTED into vitamin A by the body naturally. The body takes the beta carotene and makes exactly the amount of Vitamin A from it that it needs, then flushes away the rest. Synthetic vitamin A is toxic in large doses because it's straight vitamin A that is forced onto your body. Beta Carotene is safe in large doses because it allows your own body to decide how much it needs and how much it wants to flush away. Beta Carotene allows your body to convert only what it needs. Beta Carotene is NOT synthetic vitamin A. Beta Carotene is what turns babies faces orange who eat too much carrots or sweet potatoes! It's very common. The amount of beta carotene in the gummies is fine. The people who complain about the levels of "vitamin A" in the gummies obviously don't understand the difference between synthetic vitamin A and beta carotene. Both provide your body with vitamin A, but the beta carotene does it in a way that allows your body to be the judge of how much it needs and flush away the rest. Beta Carotene is WAY safer than synthetic vitamin A as far as excess dosing is concerned. So again, I'm okay with that.
SO -----------> what it comes down to for me, is that Juice Plus is an easy way for me to get a little extra fruits and veggies into myself, my husband and my kids. I DO NOT expect it to cure any diseases or be a wonder drug. It's just fruit and veggie powder after all. All that I EXPECT from Juice Plus, is for it to add a little extra fruit and veggies to our diets. It does NOT replace fruits and veggies. It does NOT cure diseases. It just simply is what it is, and does what any fruit or veggie powder would do .... add a little extra to our diets. And my common sense tells me a little extra fruit and veggies can't be a bad thing in our diets ... it can only be good.
So, anyway, I've decided to take Juice Plus. I'm not a distributor because I hate bugging people. Let other people do what's right for them. Just because I like something doesn't mean everyone else has to like it. But I am a customer. And I'm happy with it. And my kids are healthy. So I'm good with Juice Plus. :-D
I hope any of that helps someone out there. It was a lot to type, but you know what? I waded through a lot of info to arrive at my decision, and maybe my thoughts on it can help someone else.
Mainly, I just want people to put it into perspective ....... it's just a fruit/veggie powder! That's it. No need to fight about such a silly thing. If you want to take it, take it. If you don't, then don't. No biggie. :-D
I completely respect anyone who chooses not to take Juice Plus. Completely. I just ask that they respect my choice to take it, and not call me an id**t for doing so. I've thought it through, and I like taking Juice Plus. :-D
But you know what's even better??? If you get off your computer now and go eat an apple! XD
XD XD XD

I agree 100% with Rachel4. I have not yet taken juice plus but i am in the process... As for the guy who lost his dog i feel for you but seriously... if you paid attention to what your dog got into you wouldn't have to try and pull off a ridiculous lawsuit against a company who did nothing wrong. Maybe they snuck into your house while you were sleeping and fed it to him/her... Gimme a break buddy!
haha. i agree with rachel. you are all making mountains out of mole hills. kind of ridiculous. Why don't you check out how screwed the pharmacutical companies are and how they directly influencing insurance companies. they're the ones that our killing us. Don't you think if Juice Plus wanted make more money they would try to get approved by the FDA? Also, you are stupid for letting your dog eat two bottles. Thats just it. You will lose in court, because your a bad pet parent.
A better option would be alkaline ionized chanson water in my view. Whats the buzz about juice plus, i think its just their viral marketers taking us for a ride.
I ,like many on this blog, found myself very unsure of the claims made about Juice Plus. After some footwork of my own I have come to realize that Juice Plus is one of the only products I have found that can make a profound difference in the wellness of the human body.
I have four daughters and have spent 30 years in the health and wellness industry. It is far easier to make claims of fraud than it is to prove a product valid. The time and research that has been spent on this one product deserves an open mind. Most of the comments I have read are very closed minded to a new concept. If I could get my family to eat the diet I would like them to eat I wouldn't need Juice Plus. I find it a great way to help my family.

I LOVE MY JUICE PLUS. I HAVE NEVER HEARD THAT JUICE PLUS WAS A CURE FOR DISEASE. BUT IT HAS ALL NUTRIENTS THAT ARE FOUND IN FRUIT AND VEGETABLES WHICH PROVE TO HELP BALANCE IN THE HUMAN BODY. I WOULD LOVE TO BUY MY FAMILY 7-13 SERVINGS OF VEGETABLES A DAY BUT I CAN AFFORD IT. JUICE PLUS IS A GREAT ALTERNATIVE. A FAMILY OF FOUR CAN GET JUICE PLUS FOR .69 CENTS A DAY PER PERSON. ITS NOT A VITAMIN IT IS WHOLE FOOD PERIOD. I KNOW TWENTY PEOPLE WHO ARE TAKING JUICE PLUS AND NONE OF THEM HAVE ANY COMPLAINTS. LOOK AT VITAMIN STUDIES. NOW THEY ARE SAYING THAT THEY DO NO GOOD AT ALL. AT LEAST THIS IS BASED ON WHOLE FOODS.
Juice Plus is trying to get approved by the FDA and as I was told, will be soon. I haven't taken Juice+ myself, but I have been looking into it. I will be having a weight loss surgery, which will make it hard for me to eat the proper amount of fruits and veggies daily and have been wondering if Juice+ is a good alternative. I am not naive enough to think it will cure disease, but am just trying to read through all the BS and see if it will actually be beneficial to me.
...just tossing in my "2cents" {2 Juice Plus capsules, that is}. I am a Juice Plus+ user and distributor, and have found the arguments in these posts a bit absurd. Why should those against JP+ have such strong opinions about how others choose to live their lives??? Sea como sea {in any case}, in the beginning, I simply wanted to support a friend, who is a distributor, by going to his very 1st presentation... and after hearing some details and facts about the product {increased energy, boosted immune system}, I instantly wanted in on this. My food choices are already pretty healthy, but I don't eat a lot, because I'm not sure I'll get enough activity to burn all the calories I take in.
I paid my $41.75 for the 1st month via debit card, and got my 4-month supply shipment in about 5 days {which is a box of 4 bottles each fruits and veggies}. {note: the remaining 3 months are billed to you; I pay via bank draft.} Following the directions {2 of each per day}, I became aware of increased energy within a week {having been suffering from peri-menopause at an early age}. And very quickly my appetite for foods changed... I was hungry and couldn't seem to eat enough. Yet - get this!!! - I was LOSING weight!!! {which I wanted}. My friend gave me a bottle of the berry blend {which is loaded with anti-oxidants, and, working in conjunction with the fruits and veggies blends, boosts the immune system}... and my skin began clearing up from 20+ years of adult acne. That didn't disappear, but BOY did it clear up!!! Sores began to heal much faster, and my self-esteem was improving. My friends began to ask questions... and I beamed as I told them what Juice Plus+ was doing for me.
I decided to become a distributor, and upon joining my friend's "upline" of other distributors {hence the idea to some that it's a multi-marketing thing, which it isn't - you make money on your own by selling the product, but can have others work under you if you choose} I learned that one is a very knowledgeable doctor {*he and his 3 kids take JP+ daily}, one is a highly intelligent nurse, and yet others are doctors as well. I went to the conference that was held in California, where I heard a great deal of information and testimony from the mouths of the doctors who created the product, and yet other doctors who have great testimonies of what JP+ has done for them personally - including the disappearance of cancer. I've now been taking JP+ for nearly a year, and I can say that my immune system has greatly benefited. I don't think I've been sick at all {*I work with kids weekly}, and I've maintained the same energy level as in the beginning.
I can't give anyone any of my personal info {as much as I would love to make sales here}... all I can say is "kimlinlovesjuiceplus"!!! and tell you that the main website for Juice Plus+ has multiple videos you can watch, wherein the doctors I mentioned earlier tell you all you want and need to know, and you can find the research on the product.

I'm very interested in people taking this because i am not a person who takes a lot of supplements and I had never heard of this before. I am big on all natural stuff so I'm somewhat interested. Can someone tell me what the biggest benefits are to this and what studies were done to back it up?
I just have one question, if what everyone is reading here is all true. Where is the extensive media coverage? Surely something this"amazing" would be advertised more knowingly and willingly? Or does it perhaps have to do with the contraversial (to say the least) method of selling?
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) recommends we eat 7 to 13 servings of fruits and vegetables every day. Most people don't come anywhere close. Clinically proven Juice Plus+ helps you bridge the gap between what you should eat and what you do eat, every day.
Ok, so I have an opinion about Juice Plus+ too. My mother (like so many others) became a distributor several years ago and she too became very passionate, which I find to be a far better word for it than 'pushy', about everyone in the family taking it. Since then I have been on and off the product for financial reasons because, as has been said many times, it's kind of expensive. Truth be told, when I am on it I have more energy, I lose weight, I sleep better (I suffer from insomnia normally), my hair grows strong and quickly, my fingernails aren't brittle or discolored, my skin clears up completely and consistently and you could set your watch to my digestive system. Then, when I stop taking Juice Plus+, in a week or two, I feel like I am withering like a plant in dead soil. Mind you, I eat quite a lot of veggies and fruits anyway and would consider my diet, while not perfect, definitely balanced. I don't know much about the research. I was a distributor for a little while but stopped trying to sell it because I am not as 'pushy' as most people are 'resistant' so my opinion is strictly that of a consumer. I just found out that I am with child for the second time and will definitely spend the extra $40 a month, on top of my prenatal vitamins, to ensure that both my baby and I are at out best nutritionally. Speaking from experience, irregardless of what the naysayers bark, I know Juice Plus+ works and my family and I will continue to reap the benefits.
