Diagnosing yourself with the internet can be very dangerous! You need to go see a doctor because the blood clots could be a sign of many different disorders. Please take my advice and go get yourself check by someone who actually has expertise.

Hi Guest,
I just wanted to find out how your appointment went. I have been bleeding for 3 weeks straight. I have the mirena IUD and I wasn't having much of a period untill recently. THis has been the longest and I have been passing clots like crazy bigger than a golf ball. THe bleeding would stop for half a day and then start up again and I would pass 5 clots in an hour. Is there anything we can do to lessen or stop the bleediing without going to the dr? I am freaked out of dr's. I am 43 and have a 3.5 year old......

After years of on and off of heavy clotting periods, I finally talked my Dr. into an ultrasound. They found an embedded Fibroid in my uterus. I saw my Obgyn and he said since it was embedded, he couldn't recommend surgery to remove it, pills or burning the uterus wall out. The only option I was given was to have a hysterectomy or wait until menopause kicks in in a few years. In the mean time, my OB suggested that I take prenatal vitamins.. The vitamins seem to help and I haven't had the guts to get the surgery yet.

Research PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrom). I am 26. I was diagnosed at 21. I weight 123 at time of diagnosis. I do not have any of the symptoms except menstrual issues. I have periods very randomly. No pattern at all. I even went a year with out a period. I was diagnosed with PCOS after the military made me use birth control. I was told children would not be possible or extreemly difficult. If you have been trying and not succeeding, this may be your reason. I got put on Metformin to ovulate. Each time I got pregnant insted. I have for boys with the use of Metformin. I do not have diabeties although Metformin treats type 2 diabeties. Also, Clomid (not sure if I spelt that right) can be used in association with Metformin to increase your chances. And no... just because you get pregnant it doesn't mean things will improve. Sometime they can actually worsen. Mine did. Good luck. May the Father Bless you with understanding.

Hello everyone, I had to leave work today because I was having large clots that were pushing the Tampoon out and soaking the pad about every 30 mins. I have read a lot of post and I m hoping that this is what is wrong with me that one of my ovaries have shut down. Thank you for the post hopefully it was not a miscarriage or something really serious, but if this keeps up through the night Im going to go to the ER to get check and will post later.

That's not true. Blood clots are not always a sign of miscarriage. I have had both tubes removed - due to 2 ectopic pregnancies so I have no tubes to get pregnant. I pass very large clots every few months!

Hello everyone I suffered from painful periods since getting my period at the age of 11. I am now 25 years old. I have passed hundreds of clots and been to many doctors. I have tested negative thank God for uterine cancer but I wanted to give the ladies here a heads up to something called PCOS. It can cause the worse menstrual symptoms known to man. Also, see your doctor whenever your body alarms you. If one doctor doesn't listen get another opinion. It took 5 years for my PCOS diagnosis and for me to find out about the cysts on my ovaries. You shouldn't have to suffer. God bless!

Your Dr. is wrong about endometriosis... I've had 2 laparoscopes where it was confirmed that I have endometriosis and I have 2 children. Pregnancy does not make you immune to endometriosis. I know your post is over a year old, but I just wanted to add this here in case you might still see it or it could help someone else.

I started having lengthy periods with clots over two and a half years ago. i waited to get it checked out and the problem got worse. My periods were lasting two plus weeks with a few days off and then It would start right up again. The clots went from a bearable size to the size of my fist. It got to the point where I didn't want to stray too far from my office at work because I never knew when I would pass one. Long story short after quite a few doctors, I was told I had a fibroid the size of a large mango. Problem was that this fibroid was very close to the uterine artery, and I met a very special lady surgeon that was brave enough to remove it for me and ultimately give me my life back. I waited too long to get treated and I lived uncomfortably for a year prior to getting my surgery. So please if you having these kinds of problems get seen, and if you don't like the first answer get a second opinion.

Hello, Ladies ever since I got a tubal ligation, I have blood clots the size of a (lemon). I don't recommend ever having a tubal ligation. I believe in my heart, what happens is the egg is trapped and that's what causes the lemon blood clots. The lemon blood clots cause you to be exhausted and have no energy. I don't want to be on (Lupron.) The side effects are horrible. I have a friend who is and (OBGYN) and she got transferred back to Corpus Christie. She said,"get off that Lupron.".
