Day 7 and I definitely had my moments when I thought 'What am I doing? It's Friday!! Pour something!" I called someone up, got deep into a project, made homemade pizza... I find making things from scratch keeps you busy and takes more time and that is a good thing. You can immerse yourself. Another thing I tried today worked well for me... I know lemon squeezed in water with a 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper is really good for you and today I added a couple ounces lemon ginger Echinacea juice from trader Joe's and the mixture is yummy with that same zing you get from vodka. Takes the boring out of it! Hope you all are doing well with it. Cheers

Sorry your going through all this man I was always a binge drinker like don't drink for 3-4 days then drink for 3-4 days straight...that being said it got to the point where I was detoxing every week! I know the depression, anxiety, and sweating involved... From MY personal experience, after about a week you will feel 1000 times better...get through the first few days and it starts getting easier then after a couple weeks it's like nothing happened physically...I really wish you the best and just know the scared feeling you have and the depression is all just part of the withdrawal symptoms:... It will go away in a few days. Best wishes...

Well, 3 days since my last drink. I've been drinking at least 2 bottles of wine per night forever. I'm 60. My symptoms improved substantially last night and today. However, I did go through some bad nausea and vomiting all day yesterday. Not good! But I am now able to eat and drink without vomiting. Still experiencing chills and low grad fever. Drank to help me sleep. So the 1st nite I didn't slee at all. Last nite was better with the help of Ambien and Gabbapentun...but trying to get off those too. So, fairly short time for main systems to subside. Still have a ways to go for full detox. Good luck to the rest of you!

My husband was being forced to do it. You can do it but you need help. Call Alcohol Anonymous for help or if you can admit yourself to a rehab...the withdrawal symptoms are tough and most of the time needs medical attention. Please get help and quit before gets dangerous. My husband had sever acute pancreatitis. he got hospitalized for that and went through hell before he got detoxed. Rapid Heart rate, hallucinations, agitation, anxiety...talk to a physician and get educated but you can do it. Wishing you a Good luck!

Thank you! I have been looking everywhere to see how long the night sweats last, I've been sober 10 weeks and am still getting night sweats on occasion, more so than usual. A lot of people say the withdrawal only lasts 7 days so I was getting worried that there was something else wrong with my health.

Man, I feel like sh*t! I quit drinking 31 days ago. I get dizzy and feel like c**p. I eat good and sleep good. It comes and goes. What's wrong? Plus I can not smell or taste right...
