BACK IN AUGUST 2005 I HAD PNEUMONIA AND WAS HOSPITALISED FOR 2 WEEKS. JUST LIKE OTHER PEOPLE I HAVE CONTINUED TO EXPERIENCE PROBLEMS WITH MY CHEST EVEN THOUGH MY DOCTOR SAID MY XRAYS ARE FINE. I GET PAIN IN MY RIGHT LUNG ON COLD MORNINGS AND STILL GET BREATHLESS. EVEN AFTER ALL THIS TIME
How are you getting on now with the pain after your Pneumonia? and were you short of breath? I was in hospital in December went for another X-ray a few weeks ago and they said all well but I am still having pain and also short of breath when I walk up hill or steps. Dose this sound like you? I would love to know.. thanks!!
I was taken to hospital eventually 3 months ago after a week of doctors telling me they didn't know what was wrong and making out that I was making the severe pain up I finally found out it was pneumonia and pluricy. I was kept in hospital 6 days on oxygen and strong anti biotics and released with a further 6 day anti biotics and strong painkillers..7 weeks later I was finally able to come off the painkillers as it wasnt constant (and I didnt want to be addicted) but now still 3 months on my lungs are rummbleing and I'm still receiving pains, shortness of breath and dizziness should I go back to the doctors or is it just somthing that I'm going to have to deal with somehow for alot longer?

Sounds like we are at the same point in recovery and experiencing the same problems.... nice to know I'm not the only one although maybe I should ask for a scan aswell as it does play on your mind when nothing is healing quickly doesnt it x

Take half a spoon of turmeric with honey and a dash of lemon. It worked for me.
I had pneumonia a month of go, in the hospital for six days. The first 3 days they couldn't find anything wrong, x-rays came back clear. They finally did a CAT scan that showed double pneumonia. I was put on five antibiotics to start with and then lowered to two antibiotics ,came home after 6 days with two antibiotics for another 10 days. It's been 2 weeks and when I breathe deep my chest hurts. I was wondering if that was normal but after reading all of these reports I find I fared quite well. And I find the pain in the lungs after pneumonia is normal. Yes this is a fearful thing because without our lungs we are not going to make it.
I just left my primary physician because like you are too had pneumonia in January of this year it's now April and I still experience pain tightness and discomfort in my left alone and let's not mention the cough that will not go away that keeps me up most nights

I had pneumonia in June 2016. I was out of work for 2 weeks and so weak. They gave me shots and pill forms of antibiotics because they couldn't get my fever down from 102 for 3 days. Pneumonia is the worst thing I have experienced so far in my life. I am only 22 and I don't smoke, I also have no medical past of any kind. its now April 2017 and I still have the pains in my chest where I had the pneumonia. I still have the coughs and wheezing- some days are worse than others. And after all of this time I still don't know what causes the pains to rise! I went to a pulmonologist and he said I have "broncho spastic airway disease", which basically means "your lungs randomly spasm when they want to ". I honestly don't think that's the case anymore. At first I was so glad to get an answer as to what I was experiencing and label it as so! The catscans of my chest showed "nodules" but he says that's nothing to worry about, but nothing has changed or gotten better so does anybody know of any other diagnosis?
I had pneumonia and I'm still getting lung pain when I breathe on the left side by the ribcage
Just was released a few days ago after 5 days in hospital with "severe" pneumonia. Terrible pain on affected side. Went to ER yesterday to rule out a clot. Doc said pain is from inflammation and is normal. Advil helps.
I just got out the hospital for pneumonia and I'm getting pain on my right side when I take a deep breath is that normal
For quietly depressed, I'm sure you will eventually regain your health, you are really an inspiration with doing gym after what you've been through. My chest still hurts and am still coughing have completed my antibiotics, I'm impatient to get well and have been ill for about 3 weeks, hopefully all these nasty symptoms will disappear. I find that when stressed come out in a sweat.
I contracted pneumonia january 2016 and was in hospitals for 3 weeks, now April 2017 5 chest infections later including influenza and numerous amounts of antibiotics and I still have pain in my left Lung and lower back
And I'm still on antibiotics ,I'm seeing the chest specialist on Tuesday 2 May 2017 so I'm hoping to get to the bottom of this I will update after I have seen him
I had pneumonia in 2004 and again this year Jan 2017. I learnt a lot from my recovery the first time which wasn't a good one.
Choose low impact high fat burn sports. Rock climbing was great for me indoors. It let me build up my lung strength and physical strength without the pressures of high impact sports like running or cycling or the gym. I also do yoga for breathing exercises. Not such a fat burner but definitely helps.
I was diagnosed with exercise induced asthma as a result of the first bout of pneumonia which in some ways has been helpful as it then gave me access to the brown inhaler to recover faster from the pneumonia this time and it has helped.
I am back on my bike cycling 3 months after this second bout. Granted it's harder work than it was before I got ill. Things I am monitoring with this recover include max heart rate doing high impact sports. My heart rate was spiking massively doing high impact sport so keeping within heart zone limits has been essential. Eating and drinking properly after excercise is more important now than it was before. And usually I feel completely wiped out after high impact sports the next day but that bis improving. Gently push your limits but keep within safe limits for your heart. Your lungs will strengthen with time.
Believe in yourself and know that there will always be good days (warm days) and bad days (cold days)
