BACK IN AUGUST 2005 I HAD PNEUMONIA AND WAS HOSPITALISED FOR 2 WEEKS. JUST LIKE OTHER PEOPLE I HAVE CONTINUED TO EXPERIENCE PROBLEMS WITH MY CHEST EVEN THOUGH MY DOCTOR SAID MY XRAYS ARE FINE. I GET PAIN IN MY RIGHT LUNG ON COLD MORNINGS AND STILL GET BREATHLESS. EVEN AFTER ALL THIS TIME

I am having the same problems unfortunately. I was diagnosed approx 7 days ago with pneumonia after high fever, chest pains, night sweats and fly like symptoms. I stayed in hospital for a day and had anti biotics via a drip. They discharged me with the view to continue antibiotics from home for 7 days and that the pain should go away. It's day 7 of the antibiotics tomorrow an so far the night sweats and fever has reduced, my chest feels slightly but not as bad as it did initially. However I have developed severe pains I'm my upper and lower. It feels very right and hurts to press on or sleep. Really hurts even if I pick up light objects. I don't know what this pain is or if it is a usually symptom following pneumonia. But this pain wasn't here initially but has gradually got worse over 5 days. Wondering if anyone has had similar experiences ? Thanks I'm 23 if that makes a difference
I am having a similar experience. Have you found any answers? Are you feeling better?

Hi, Im eighteen and got aspiration pneumonia after a tonsillectomy on 01/07/15. Before the pneumonia I had acute bronchitis since 12/17/14 and they ended up hospitalizing my for three days with bilateral multilobe pneumonia. The pneumonia caused severe back, neck, and chest pain to the point where I couldnt get out of bed and after the round of antibiotics I was almost back to normal. A few days later my back between the shoulder blades ached pretty bad, the middle of my chest would get sharp pains, fatigue, lightsensitivity, skin sensitivity, trouble sleeping and the productive cough since mid december. I have since then had a normal chest xray and an EKG with only an occasional short beat that the doctor said is fine. It's no febraury and all I want to do is curl on my bed and sleep but I can't miss college or work. If anyone finds something
I am still having chest pains after pneumonia. Went to emergency at one point and chest x ray and ekg all clear. Drs keep telling me that it takes 4-6 weeks to recover but emergency dr said some people have pain for months afterwards.  End of this week will be about 6 weeks and i am still on painkillers.  We have had fires here where i live in Australia and a lot of smoke came over the city. I was feeling better but then the smoke seems to have made it worse again.  Am so over it.  If you have allergies it seems to make it workse.
I had pneumonia a year ago and my lung is also still making all of these crackles and noises. Its my lower left lobe and its hard to breath in with it. It is also giving me alot of anxiety. Idk what to do but at least i know that this seems to be common
Bingo, I found this blog, thank goodness.  I think I have the same thing, too.  I had pneumonia (I think bacterial) last year in Novemeber and was 11hours in the emer room.  Once I was totally well, I noticed a slight 'feeling' or pain in the exact area I had the nodule of pneumonia. I brushed it off because I am so healthy (no flu for 15 yrs until I moved to the higher elevation I live at now).  However, as winter has come back I am noticiing it more in the am.  Way way more if my back is 'out' and it almost feel like a small muscle pull almost constantly.  I will see the doctor but assume she'll tell me the same thing yours are telling you.  It almost feels like it could erupt back into pneumonia but  I may just be a nervous nellie.  More later  WarmInLA
That's a bit of a worry. I have just recovered from pneumonia but still feel sick and have the sharp pain in right lung. I wasn't too bad as only off work for 4 weeks. However I am now back this week and the worry is I work in school with children and many of them are getting the flu bug.
Indeed prednisone stops inflammatio in the lungs. Take it if prescribed
I had the flu Feb 2015. Mar 2015 I was hurting all over, coughing and couldn't breath. My husband took me to ER. Xrays were clear. Thank God the Doctor did a CT and found Pneumonia in both lungs. I was hospitalized for 8 days. Been home recuperating for a month and still have chest, back and side aching! But Dr said my lungs are clear!! Am I the only one?
Hello Secretly Depressed, I know it's been more than a year since you commented & I really hope your doing better. One suggestion to you about losing weight is to eat more protein. At least 65 grams/ per day. When you look at Total Carbs take that # and divide it by 4, then add it to the # of sugars. The # you get is how many teaspoons of sugar is in that item. Think of a bowl & that # of sugars would you feed that many spoonfuls of sugar to a child. Probably not. Sugar can sabatoge any weight loss plan. So make sure the protein in everything you eat is double digits & the sugar is in the single digits. Hope this helps you. I've lost 12 lbs so far. I have the same pain as many others on this site. I'm praying that I recover soon. Is now June & I had pneumonia in April. I'm tired of the lingering symptoms now. Sincerely, Workout Junkie still w/ Chest pain

Hello All. It is great to find this site. My husband had pneumonia about 8 years ago it was so severe we thought we would lose him. He was in ICU for two weeks on a breathing machine in a medical induced coma while being pumped full of antibiotics. He finally came home after being in the hospital for a month. Took him awhile to get back to doing normal activities. 3/4ths of his left lung is permanently scarred and part of his right lung is scarred. He has lived with this for 8 years and is now 70 years old. He was healthy, lifted weights, ate right, didn't smoke all this when he caught pneumonia. All I want to say is that even though he has shortness of breath if he walks so many steps and lung scarring, that is something he will need to live with forever but he is living his life, going to the gym, running errands, working even at his age. He knows his breathing will be limited the rest of his life and who knows he may need oxygen some day but as bad as his case was, he pulled through. I feel for everyone here it is hard to get through and everyone's situation differs but he is still around and living life after all those years even with struggles. Now he just had 2 surgeries on his colon and got over a bout of pneumonia recently so he is weak, dizzy and out of breath but is getting better. The surgeries knocked him down pretty good but again but he is starting to feel better. Hang in there everyone, I hope and pray that you get through the complications. It isn't easy and you can get discouraged, but with proper care from your doctor you will hopefully get better!
Hello all, I had walking pneumonia last month, cleared up with 14 days of antibiotics, and have been off medication and feeling great for a little over a week. Before getting sick I was an avid runner, so I decided to go out for a (short for me) 1.5 mile run last night. Well when I got home.. I felt like I had been hit by a truck. And all day today I have had chest pain. Has anyone else recovered from their pneumonia but then found themselves to be in pain once they resume exercising? Your insights are appreciated!
Chinese medicines suck don't listen to that
