Hi there, I truly hope you are having a better time of it a year after your post ♡ I'm recovering from a case of severe bilateral pneumonia and have days where I'm feeling almost normal (except for the loss of strength and breathlessness)... and then days like today where I'm just struggling to breathe and my lungs ache. I'm 39 and can't believe how sick I've been! My best advice for weight loss is to eat regularly - skipping any meal slows metabolism and just maks your body hold onto fat. Also, eat the full fat version of dairy products (in moderation of course), as my PT advised me diet products are bad for your body and don't really help weight loss. Then eat HEAPS of veggies and lots of lean meat, some fruit and the rest on moderation. Hope you get to read this, and hope you are feeling better xxoo
I had similar experience. Took remicade for 4 doses over 3 months for polyarteritis nordosa and was feeling great. Then I got pneumonia which almost killed me. After tons of iv antibiotics and 10 days in the hospital I went home snd stayed in bed for one month. Trying to get around now but have chest pain snd SOB ANd fatigue. The fatigue is like pneumonia and scares me a lot. Anyone have any thoughts.
Hi Sounds like my symptoms ( lung pain, nausea & tiredness) are not unusual as I am recovering from pneumonia. I also got asthma with the pneumonia. I will be seeking out Chinese medicine or alternative therapies to see if that helps as Im getting nowhere fast 6 weeks down the track. Myocosma pneumonia is THE PITS.
Hi, I also suffered from double pneumonia PE blood clots in my lungs and DVT in my leg .I was in ICU for 15 days and my pulse rate was 8 and oxygen levels 100+ and I had unbearable pain in my chest and back .Doctors told my family that I have to be put on ventilator but I kicked back ,however I was not able to eat a bit for 15 days and lost 17 KGS .I have a previous history of blocked arteries of right leg and was operated with a stent placement but it got infected ,however I was lucky enough and with a bit of pain lived 5 years without problems .Today after double pneumonia and blood clots in lungs. I experience pain in my chest and breathlessness and suffer from anxiety .After all checkups like ECG x rays extras doctors found everything normal but my pain comes and go. After researching, talking with doctors and sharing my problems with others I have come to a conclusion that in some patients pain can last for years and we have to be stong and can try yoga breathing exercises to make our lungs strong. Most important don't give up. I have would have given up easily as I am using drugs IV heroin and other drugs from age of 12 years and have gone through a lot 8 surgeries broken legs ,hepatitis c .Today I am 30 and have left drugs from years and is slowly recovering from all my illness it is painful journey but no pain no gain .Best is to consult your doctors and get a full checkup
Well I'm not alone. I was doing taekwondo twice a week and lifting weights last week before I got sick. I got pneumonia about five weeks ago, was misdiagnosed then the treatment did not help either. I change doctors and it was two weeks in an ammonia before I started being treated correctly. I supposedly haven't had pneumonia in over a week, but I still have chest tightness a cough and severe disorientation and fatigue when I try to do anything around the house. I have been off work now going on my fifth week. I am 36 years old, and had previous lung issues when I was a teenager, surgeries and a light case of asthma. I am just hoping to actually get my mojo back so I can get back to my life. My wife has been the real MVP in all of this, and I'm sure glad I've had her.
take the prednisone! its the only thing that helped my pneumonia. a short time with the steroid (1-2 weeks) will not make you gain weight, but also is gaining weight worse than perminently damaging your lungs?
I've been home for six weeks after pnemonia and lung abscess but still extremely weak and in pain. Chest clinic dr says it's normal as my body has been through so much, dr still has me on antibiotics and opioid pain meds even through X-rays r showing improvement and lung abcess is almost gone. I'm 52 and usually pretty heathy apart from migraines. Symptoms started with any flu symptoms, I just woke up one morning in severe pain in my ribs..... I have never felt so weak that even a shower takes a lot out of me...... wonder if I will ever regain my strength......
Not at all unusual. I've been home for 7 weeks and still in pain, breathless and so extremely weak, walking to bathroom to brush my teeth and wash my face is a mission.....
Hi Ben, Did you get this sorted in the end hope you are well? Ive had bacterial pneumonia with pleural effusion and 3 months on and Im still getting pain and breathing difficulties. regards, Ben
May God helps you ... Wish you the best always.
You will my friend .
I know your post was over a year ago, but I came upon it doing a search for pain in my lower left lung six months after pneumonia in that lower lobe. It took two months and three rounds of antibiotics to get rid of it, and like you, I am taking methadone for chronic pain. If you by chance get my post, pls answer back if we can chat. I'd love to know if this resolved for you. I also notice it more if I take less or none of my pain med and when taking a deep breath. Also notice it is worse when I first wake up. My mom died from lung cancer so it kinda freaks me out. Thanks.
I've been home for 8 weeks and still in pain, loss of appetite and severe fatigue, I can totally relate to your comment that brushing teeth is a mission...... not that I'm happy that u r unwell but good to hear that I'm not the only one that's taking so long to recovery......
Thank you for your encouragement..... I'm feeling so unwell, tired etc and your comment truly helped me
Take the steroids U shouldnt be on them long enuff to worry bout weight gain...This could be the reason you arent getting rid of it
