I too have RH negative and I was just recently diagnosed with Lupus. I have been in the care of a Rheumatologist for 2 years. I was sent to him because apparently a Rheumatologist specializes in all auto immune diseases specifically Lupus. He first determined that I have Fibromyalgia and has treated for it for 1 1/2 years. Recently I woke up unable to get air in my right lung. This sent me to the ER, which could not find anything to indicate anything specific; however they did find that my ANA (inflammation markers) were very high. When Dr. Win learned of this ER visit and received the records he called me in ASAP. He said that because of the lack of reasons for the pain and the fact that the ANA markers were so high, he believes it is Lupus. It has taken 2 years to figure it out and he is a specialist in this. I recommend that you get a second opinion with a reputable Rheumatologist. I hope this has helped you. As for the RH negative blood type, I had wondered about a possible connection and I will ask the Dr when I see him again.
yup, rh neg here!
Some individuals with autoimmune issues and rh neg blood might also want to read about mitochondrial related issues.
Well this is a very interesting question that you have asked as I have RH Negative and Lupus antibody. I do believe that I have flares of Lupus - I was first given a reading whilst undertaking tests for other blood disorders. This was approximately 30 years ago. It appears to me that every time I have felt extremely unwell the Lupus indicator shows in the blood tests. I have attended the Autoimmune Clinic at a Public Hospital where they advised that I have the antibody but it was not prevalent in the testing. I tend to disagree with their diagnosis as I know when the Lupus has flared. Recently I have undergone two hip replacements - at 57. I had been suffering hip pain since 1993 and now reflect back to the age of 17 where I underwent spinal surgery. So........ I do believe there may be a link and thank you I feel a bit more at ease that there are other people out there suffering from symptoms that appear to be completely misdiagnosed and believe the medical profession still do not understand much about this subject - and that is just from my own personal experience.
I am surfing (this how I found this site) as I am going to commence a diet for RH Neg blood type to see if this helps.
Chhers.
I have Sjogren's (an auto immune disease) and I am A-
Look up "Seronegative Lupus". It's lupus that doesn't show up in your bloodwork. :)
It is not a coincidence that everyone here is drawn to this question.
I am a 52 year old female with A-, Father 0+ and Mother AB- (?). My brother suffered at birth from the RH factor but survived. One infant cousin died 2 days after birth with RH- complications.
I was recently tested for Lupus, but it came back negative but had some "markers" so they are sending me to an RA. I am also deathly allergic to tree nuts have some urticaria issues, but most recently inflammation in the legs and arms, sun reactions, migraines, pituitary tumor, both knees and ankles ache, hot spots (ache) on fingers, treated for shingles but no breakout, at times terrible deep front hip pain, and now sharp pain under right rib cage and shoulder blades. Fun times! Have started veggies and fruits blended to see if it will help. I don't think I absorb my food well.
But all that being said, everything is honky dory according to the docs.
hi, i am also rhesus negative, have had two kids and pregnancies werent that great but got 2 healthy kids. Was tested for rheumatoid arthiritis as had high levels of (cant remember the name of it) present but the specialist says i definately dont have that. Also been experiencing dry eyes, tired, aching body as in very tired, and sore joints. Never hardly get the cold, flu or general ill health even if its going through the house like wild fire. Have low blood pressure as a result have dizzy spells, Wondering if anyone can shed light on what think wrong??? sometimes feel like wasting docs time, am only 39 years old
Hi, i have just seen all these posts as i am up searching a few things and i am unsure if things are starting to make sense or getting more confusing.... myself and my husband are both o rh - yet had an o rh + daughter, i was diagnosed with fibromyalgia afetr having scarlet fever at 13 and the doctors being unable to get complete results after all test, my husband has sadly been diagnosed with non hodgkins (a while ago thankfully) and our daughter has been diagnosed with urticaria... when i see all symptoms i think well i have them, my husband has them and our daughter has them.....
I am unsure whether i am doing it as a mum and being paranoid or if i am on the right track as i know there is only about a 5% chance it can be passed down from a parent but we have also been told it should have been in possible for our daughter to be the blood type she is when me and my partner are both the same...
I hope someone could give me some clarity on the situation.
Thanks,
AG
I was recently diagnostic with Lupus, I'm 4 month pregnant with my child #4, and I'm RH- type O. When the doctor tell me I have Lupus a lot of questions come to my mind, my baby, my other kids, my family, why me!!! I know it's normal to have this question but i begin investigating and I have this symptoms for more than 20 years, constant urine infections, glandes inflamed under my arms, periods that I feel very tired, inflammation in my knees and legs, joint pain, memory problems and others, any other doctor discovered anything before. I ask my self this Lupus have any relation with the situation that I'm RH-? I think this give light to believe, yes they are relation, I don't know if we are predestined to have autoimmune problems or it's the injection that the doctor give us for us be able to have our baby safety... (The flu shot i know it's not because i never take it, and others I know never take it either)
But something that more than 90% of the RH- with Lupus or autoimmune problems have are kids, that give a high percent of probability that this injection, this shot is probably involved... and the situation that no body found why Lupus in RH- and no body found the cure make my think that probably it's not convenient to know it. Sorry to the people that doesn't believe in conspiracy theories, but I live in the US and here this is part of our every day meal. It's my opinion in base of what I read here and in other places.
WOW, I can't believe it! I read all your post and am just amazed. My sister (36 yr old) was just diagnosed a few months ago with systemic lupus and apparently it went undiagnosed for several years now. They just admitted her into the hospital today, and not looking so good. She has 0- blood type too. Last night I got to thinking, if maybe there was a connection between lupus and Rh neg blood types, I text her to ask her if she would ask her doctor about it. I too have 0- blood type, and remember having to take the RHogam shots during and after pregnancy. I didn't know until my last child, WHY I had to have this shot, because if the baby's blood type wasn't 0- and got mixed with mine, then my body would start fighting itself. I just got word she was in hospital and told her to ask the doctor about giving her a Rhogam shot to see if maybe it might slow down whatever is going on right now. still waiting on what happens with that. I decided to google lupus and Rh- neg connection and up popped this site. And I am amazed and in awe that I was right, You would think doctors would have some sort of answer or cure by now, if WE (general public) have found a connection. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone of you all, and I hope a cure is found very soon. My sister is a young mother of 2 toddlers!
