I have the same problem. I keep getting rushed to the hospital in the middle of the night???

I have been smoking pot for close to 40 years. It all started over the summer of 2015, I suddenly had intense gut issues, nausea, and a mixed bag of GI problems, Over a span of 2.5 years I went to many different doctors and had every test in the world done approximately 50k worth and no problems were found. I never told the Drs I smoked weed and if I did they probably would not have known enough about the associated problems. Several times I had vomiting episodes, i thought was food poisoning, I tried special diets, intestinal antibiotics (ziflaxin) , nature path medicines, probiotics nothing cured it. Loving weed so much I never stopped smoking and I was in denial it was the weed. Then one of my long time heavy pot smoking friends developed diverticulitis and ended up nearly dying, a few months later another heavy long time pot smoker friend developed diverticulitis and died on the operating table. Thinking there was a connection to my gut problems I finally made a new years resolution to quit the daily weed habit and by day 5 the results were no less than remarkable. Thanks to the internet I learned alot about the latest research on how THC can slow intestinal mobility and mess up the gut. I am amazed how many pro pot posters compare there wonderful experiences with it and call us suffers crazy. Newsflash: Not everyone has gut problems from pot! Sorry you young pot defenders but I do think as more research is done there will be more awareness in the pot gut relationship.I love pot and I do hope I can still take a small puff once or twice a week without the gut issues. In my case I never put the nausea hot shower connection together as described with CHS. Maybe because I smoked small amounts everyday for so long, I think I bounced back and forth between the Prodromal phase and the Hyperemetic phase of CHS for years. If you smoked or vaped everyday for many years and have undiagnosed gut issues read this https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3847982/
good luck and I hope this info helps.

To add to my post, gut issues did not happen directly after smoking, issues were at random times.

Hi everyone
I stranded here after i googled for "bellyache due to cannabis", because that is what I'm experiencing right now.
I started smoning 5 years ago and it went from sporadic to daily use in a couple of months. So I smoke daily since at least 4 years now, and it is since then, that I've gotten chronic abdominal pains. I saw a lot of people complaining about stomach-aches, which I rarely experience. My main porblem is the intestine, i figured. After I'm half through the joint, it starts "swelling", at least that's how it feels. It gets worse, peaks, and then I usually have to go hit the toilet. I figured that eating before smoking helps sometimes, but it can also make you feel sick to the stomach as well. And then I gotta puke also.
Now what i think is the problem to the very most of us, is the resin and in my case tobacco. I mix my weed up with tobacco because 1. longer joint 2. better; more even burn 3. better taste (if you know what goes well with what) 4. better shape and so on... And because there is no real filter, it gets pretty ugly pretty damn quickly. People who smoke cigarettes only, experience the same symptoms after decades of smoking, which made me think a little.
Also, i do other drugs, which i ingest or snort so they end up in the gastrointestinal tract sooner or later. I think they made my stomach weak, I throw up much more frequently these days than, say, 5 years ago. So maybe it's all of those thongs combined.
We all know it's bad, we all know it's linked, we just dont wanna quit, do we.
I wish y'all good luck with finding an other excuse for your symptoms, so far, i did not, so tell me when you come up with something good (;
I suggest you all quit smoking for 2 weeks and just listen to your belly (;
Also, these pains helped me find out that I'm lactose-intolerant! So it has it's positives!

CHE. That's what it is - look into. One of the most painful things I've experienced ever.

Only a true stoner/paranoid germ-a-phobe/worry wart/weed conesouir can directly relate to this post.

I’ve been smoking consistently for about 6 months now and all of a sudden last night right after smoking I experienced stomach pains for a full 24 hours..along with some numbing sensation in my lips. Smoked again tonight. Same symptoms. So I self destructed and googled. This is where I landed. On this post. So thanks to whomever wrote this. Probably not going to sleep tonite. Lol.

Thanks man, that seems pretty logical. As a heavy user for years I am 3 days quit from smoking. I have been experiencing upper abdomen pain, reading your comment I do believe my it’s actually my diaphragm. I do sing and practice deep breathing exercises often. Do you think it might help clear out the toxins more quickly if I breathe deeply into my stomach? Or why do you think that may be a good idea? It definitely hurts, not intensely but enough to keep me awake and uncomfortable.

Do you also experience back pain? If you push under your rib cage on the right side, is it tendor?

Wow nice reply!

The problem is the poppers. Not the weed. The way you smoke pops especially with all the unfiltered tobacco, is definitely what is causing the illness.

Thanks for the post. I've been smoking for close to 20 years, heavy with blunts for at least the last 10. My stomach has been so messed up lately. My diet sucked, so I have been cleaning that up, I do feel somewhat better but not enough and there is nothing left but the weed. I'm not sure if I just have an ulcer and the smoking makes it worse or if it's this slow GI track you mention but thanks for the tip and I'll see how I feel after quitting. :-)

Damn this is exactly what I am experiencing. I have been thinking that it was the weed.

Brother i'm facing the same problem not only when i smoke weed even when i eat some cannabis infused edibles. Yes i think it is bcoz of cannabis, n if u quit smoking hash or intake of cannabis products the pain will go away bt if u start smoking again it will come back. I think the problem here is CHS SYNDROME (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cannabinoid_hyperemesis_syndrome) u can read about it.
