Uh-oh. I'm a 61 year old & I've been smoking pot since I was 18. I've never had headaches because of pot until about 3 weeks ago. I smoke about 3 times a day, or about 1/5 oz./week. I went on a 2 week trip & didn't smoke anything. When I got back I started a brand new ounce when I got home. After a week, the back right side of my upper neck started to throb. I noticed changing internal body pressure increased the pain. When standing, squating, or bending down it hurts. Even singing affects the pain. As long as I just sit and do nothing I'm OK, but I can't live like this!
At first I thought it might be bad pot, but I was able to try another type I've used for a year but the pain still returns. I've tried reducing the dose by about a third which helps. Less is more.
Also, it seems if I suffer thru the headache I can smoke more in the same day w/no pain.

Your doctor did an MRI? Otherwise he is full of sh*t he cant just tell by symptoms that you had a stroke, I get migranes from weed and exedrinea hot towel around your head neck and eyes helps the blood flow, also food and water and plenty of sleep. Otherwise know your pot source see where its grown and that its not molded or pesticide ridden, bud dont cause strokes but surely smoking chemical pesticides could if they were used by by pot farmers. 100 percent organic and grow your own is best way to go, just like food, mainstream sh*t can be tainted with chemicals.

you can tell this answer is over a year old, cannabis only causes physcotic episodes if the condition is already with the person or it is heraditory. I've been smoking everyday for the past 10 years with only positive effects, uplifting, helps my insomnia, cures my headaches, but each person is different. too much of anything is bad for you, that goes for cannabis too, but to only point out the negatives is wrong, it's been proven to have a significant use on the treatment of cancer, MS and so on. alcohol will kill you a hell of a lot quicker than cannabis, I know which one I'd choose...
I can tell yo from personal experience that MJ causes my sinuses to swell. It can be first hand smoke, second hand smoke, or even edibles. The more in my system the worse the systems. Headache, sinus pressure, and eye pressure. It sucks because I live in Washington state and can't take advantage of what's available to me. Just like all drugs, I am in the small percentage that gets a negative reaction.

I would call a doctor, I think you are experiencing either the Maxalt side effects (which can get really serious) like the neck pulsating (because the tightening of neck and jaw), elevated heart beat and/or pressure, headaches, etc.; or Maxalt interaction side effects (which is also possibly very dangerous) with marijuana, or other substances.

sh*t weed, the c**p we get in this country is unflushed and full of nitrates and plant fertilisers...This gives you nasty headaches
I now get terrible headaches from smoking. I smoked for about 15 on and off, and I used to be fine with Cannabis, but the last few years I started to get severe headaches every time. When I don't smoke I'm fine. Stop smoking for a few weeks and see how you feel.
The way you describe your situation is similar to the mine and lisa23's situations. I'm 17, and I've only been smoking pot multiple times a day for about 6 months. Ive discovered that if I smoke more than once a day, smoking will bring on painful behind the eye headaches, headaches that I've actually experienced before when I was younger and used to get unexplained migraines(this is what worries me the most and makes me think I should probably get an MRI or something). I also get headaches from exercising, which leads me to believe that the problem is related to oxygen in the brain.
To top it off, along with the headaches when I smoke, sometimes my left eye becomes droopy, it's as if I'm having a stroke or something. All of this concerns me greatly, as I wonder how weed and my past experience with headaches relate and whether or not it's serious. if anyone could respond with advice it would be appreciated.

I have the same problem. But only if I smoke late in the evening and go to bed high. My theory is that it reduces the quality of your sleep and this causes the headache. I have headaches if I don't sleep well even when I don't smoke.
I think you might have dirt because that's how I know I smoked dirt weed
