in regards people having headaches...
I have been smoking everyday for over 15years now. I have no intentions what so ever, to giving up... I occasionally get A headache the following morning after smoking say 4 or 5 joint the night before.
I have noticed that when i get headaches it tends to be when i have not drunk adiquate amounts of water. And if i wake up with a headache after drinking say maybe 2/3 pints of water, my headache beings to go. Now there has allways been a relationship between headaches and dehydration make sure you drink loads of water.....this might not work for everyone...but it is certainly worth a try..and i can say 100%...it works for me. XD

I've been toking for 13 years, everyday, recently I have been experiencing headaches on the right side of my brain. Maybe I have damaged it. I've stopped for 2 days now, and it feels better. Maybe I should have a MRI.

Dam......I am 16 years old and i have done my share of e,lsd, other psychedelics, painkills, downers, never uppers, and a lot of bud. Nothing has ever been wrong with me using drugs until just one day i start to get these mind blowing f*****g headaches from WEED!!.

before my headaches

Everyday i would go to school before school and smoke..go to class, go to break and smoke, go to class, go to lunch and smoke, smoke go to class, smoke after school, and ofcourse my days were different but thats the idea of how much i smoked.

it pisses me off so dam f*****g much i cant have that perfect lifestyle i loved when i was in 10th grade. weed was so great that i loved the "hangovers" from weed also. Never had 1 problem with it.

after my headaches

Now i am in 11th grade. The headaches started occuring during the summer out of the blue during smoking weed.

.My eyes dont even get red anymore and my pupils get HUGE when i smoke even a little. The headaches feel like my brain is splitting in the temple area and now i think i twitch from. I somtimes believe im gonna die but no matter what happens to me i always say it will be over in 2 hours regardless the intensity or if not i rather die than go to the hospital. the post above compelled me to write this and to be honest i think you have a bit case of paranoiaa. (one time i got alluminum flakes covering my hands from a bench saw grinder and even inhaled some and started a sort of panic that it would enter my bloodstream and maybe kill me, i simply cancelled out all paranoia and not 1 thing happened from it..it helps to know how f*****g truly amazing and beautiful the human body is and how it can withstand harmful things ;). I hope that helps you next time you shake somones hand..

i have been smoking for 3 years and would love to be able to smoke weed freely again as it is a part of my life and now i am not smoking because it has just gotten to intense.

any facts, theories, tips would be great

The most common reasons for marijuana induced headaches that ive found is because of a low THC content not a high one like one of the replies was implying. There is a dealer in my town who always gets really weak herb and for the most part nearly everyone who smokes it gets bad headaches.

Another possibility is if it is grown in a cornfield or something then it might have pesticides on them. be sure to know where it came from before ingesting

It never fails to surprise me how foolish some people are. I don't think drugs are to blame, I think some people just lacked common sense before they started taking drugs and the drugs exacerbated that. I've been smoking pot nearly every day for about the last year after taking six months off(I smoked off and on for a few years prior to that). I'm about to end fall term with a 4.1 GPA.

Your will, motivation, self-discipline and intellect are far more powerful than THC. If you exercise these things, a little pot smoke isn't going to turn you into some burnout loser.

Some of you need to think about that.

hey imma 23 yr old female i have been smoking marijuana for 9 yrs now..i smoke every day..i suffer from horrible migranes..but lately ive been having alot more symptoms..like especially this pulsing in my head and neck.....

Lisa :D I would say not to worry . I have the same feeling .. its like somethings hitting me in the back of the head.. or like a needle entering the lower back part of my brain, My theory is either , its a missing amount of oxygen (due the the fact of the smoke) Cause i sometimes get dizziness, and also noticed that wen doing sports .. the Pain goes away really fast. Or also just the fact that there is a liquid in your brain from glands (caused from THC),,And that these Glands are depleted or just irritated (Tired) and just the fact of taking a brake for a long period of time will fix this Problem , This is based on my idea only ..

Yes marijuana can give you headaches, and it doesn't have to be bunk weed, or good weed. Everything affects everyone differant. Some of us may need a
6- pk to get a buzz. some of us may need one beer to feel a buzz. Nobody is the same. :-) :-) :-)

I am now 44 and have been smoking marijuana off and on since I was 15. I stopped smoking entirely from 1988 to 1998, but had been smoking casually since then - until last week.

A buddy of mine has been growing some high-grade hydroponic weed in his basement. I bought some from him numerous times, and it was the best stuff ever. Looked like it was straight out of High Times magazine. However, the batch that I got from him two weeks ago gave me the splitting headaches that so many of you on this thread have discussed. Last Sunday night I smoked a few hits of it, and my head started aching so badly that I came very close to going to the hospital. I was up all night with the headache, and it lingered for about three days. Even now I can feel it faintly, but it is almost gone. I haven't smoked anything now for five days.

This was the first time I ever got a headache from smoking weed in my life. I attribute the headaches to exactly what several of you have mentioned: Growth hormones that my friend used to make his weed grow faster. These growers can get greedy to come out with a new batch quickly, so they begin experimenting with different growth enhancing chemicals. They don't realize that by doing so they could cause people to have these horrible headaches - which several of you have said you are unable to get over even after you stopped smoking weed.

I've always wondered about the weed that I smoke. We truly don't know where most of it comes from. As far as we know it may be from Columbian fields that were sprayed with poisons such as paraquat. We're probably lucky that we're not dead. I think that I have smoked my final bong hit, and am going to say goodbye to my longtime friend. It's simply not worth risking my health over anymore.

As far as the people who have mocked those of you who have complained about these headaches - get a life! How foolish to come on here and try to tell us that we have experienced these headaches due to lack of drinking water. How many people do you know who get high without a drink in their hand? Have you ever heard of cottonmouth? DOH!!

I think I'm going to head over to the Marijuana Anonymous chat room located at http://ma-online.org/chat.html now. Hope to see some of you on there.

im now 21 ive smoked cannabis since the age of 14 however i only started smoking it heavily at around 17 recently ive been growing my own, with unlimited supply so ive been smoking silly amounts, over the last year tho ive been cutting down as ive noticed drastic changes in my behaviour mood and overall personality. as i say ive been growing my own, all organic, not used any kind of chemicals and recently ive been gfetting really bad headaches in the back of my eyes and temples...i can even spark up a joint and after ive smoked half of it i get headache.

i belive this (with me anyway) is something to do with blood pressure...i get really intense headaches while doing heavy weight training at the gym its unbearable just about...it can start with throbbing or a tightness in the part where my spine meets my skull.

ive been using kamagra oral jelly with the girlfriend too about once a week( just for the warrior status really, i dont need it)

i also have had my fair share of drugs, but i now take ecstasy around once a month maximum

as i say ive only really been having headaches for the last month, nearly everytime i smoke id liek to know anyones thoughts on this? is it something to do with the kamagra because that obviously casuses increased blood flow...maybe that coupled with marijuana causing low blood pressure is f*****g me up?

oh id like to add, i drink around 3 pints of water a day and dont drink alcohol frequently.

thanks in advance for any help.

Give me liberty or give me death. If you live in a "free" country, then how can doing something that causes absolutely no harm to anyone else be illegal? (used responsibly, of course) And drug users, should at the very worst, be treated as people with problems, not as criminals.

Now on to headaches. I'm 18, I've been smoking marijuana for the past 2 years, going from light user, to "addicted", to cold turkey, and back to light. My headaches started in the past few months, and I have a clue as to what might contribute.

I believe the method used in smoking is what provokes some headaches. Let me give you an example using cigarette smokers. Some smokers simply light up, take a puff, then pause, take a few breaths, and take another puff. Others smoke without inhaling any clean oxygen (due to hurry, addiction, or some other reason).

Therefore, some smokers starve their brain of oxygen without realizing it.
I assume the same thing would happen to pot smokers, depending, once again, on the method used, and the timing.

Have you tried using a vapourizer? Or any way of smoking that reduces the amount of oxygen starvation your brain recieves?

And yes, my headaches fall in line with one of the repliers here: pulsing in my brain. Specifically, in one frontal lobe or the other. Analyzing it, I came up with the idea that the blood vessels are constricted (for any number of reasons), and any increased blood flow would cause even more severe pain. That has, at times, proven to be true.

Now for the causes: it could be your metabolism, the general condition of your circulatory system, or prolonged habitual lack of activity associated with smoking pot. In an extreme case, a person would simply sit in a couch, smoking pot, and not moving a muscle. Their blood slows down, and eventually their circulatory system would weaken. Including the blood vessels in your brain, which would lead to stroke-like effects from smoking marijuana and then moving.

All this is just an idea. I'm not a doctor, but I pay attention, test hypotheses, and make tentative conclusions. If anyone else has any idea, please help. I'm sure there's more to it than just toxins, oxygen starvation and general weakening of the circulatory system.

But until they legalize it, and start doing comprehensive, beneficial experiments, I doubt we'll find a clear-cut answer.

I smoked a joint and then a bowl or so (out of a bong) with my friend 2 days ago. I've had this horrible headache since then. At first, I thought it was the bowl we used. We used a socket wrench head, and I thought maybe there was something in it before that was really bad. I'm 14 by the way, and it was my first time smoking. But I still have this headache, mainly on the left side of my head. I'm not sure if I should tell my parents or what, and I'm kinda scared. If anyone could give me advice, that would be great.

I smoked on and off for the past 3 years, but this year i've been smoking daily for about 6 months. I've stopped for now because I ran out and I felt I was getting addicted. Decided to take a break. Been having migraines for the past couple days since I stopped. I assume it is related to the smoking.

I had the same thing the last two times i smoked.

I'm 16, and I first starting smoking weed when i was 12.

I smoked heavily, to a point where it was a half ounce a day.

The second last time I smoked, I had the same thing happen.. sort of.

I had just finished up 4-6 poppers, using stronger bud. I bent over to pick up my bag, and when I came back I felt an UNBELIEVABLE body buzz. But that quickly deteriorated and I started to feel woozy. I started to walk out of my spot. When I got a terrible head ache, like my brain was expanding and pushing against my skull. As I walked I started to experience vertigo, and tunnel vision. My heart rate picked up to 3-4 times its normal rate, and I started sweating. The tunnel vision crept in and eventually I almost blacked out, but before I did, I sat down. And started to recover, but I still had a headache, as well as a very dry mouth. I was having trouble understanding what was happening.

After that, I decided that it was a bad trip, so I smoked again the following day, but the same thing happened, but not as bad. As I was watching how much I smoked. That was the last time I smoked. (First week of December 07)

I felt headaches, and light headed for a week straight after that.. and to this day, I still feel light headed, and faint at times almost every day.

Anyway, I talked to my doctor about it, and he said I suffered a stroke.

If you're experiencing any of those symptoms, go see a doctor NOW.

You don't have to tell your parents, just let them know you're feeling really weird. You can ask the doctor to sign a secrecy oath, so s/he won't tell your parents.

good luck.

Driving too fast in your car is also illegal and speed related car accidents kill more people in a DAY than smoking marijuana EVER has. This has not stopped people from speeding.

I would suspect the headaches may be the result of a fertilizer used during the growing process or perhaps a zealous dealer has "added" something to enhance the high. There could also be interactions with other medications or foods causing the headaches. I can't eat cheese, nuts or chocolate because they give me headaches.

I have smoked for almost 30 years and have not had significant health issues as a result of this particular "natural medication". I have experienced many more health related problems from "legal" drugs, i.e. alcohol, sugar, nicotine, caffeine, and medicines prescribed by physicians. I have gained more weight from sugar than from getting the munchies; kicking the nicotine habit is the most difficult thing I have done (one day at a time); caffeine withdrawal will cause killer headaches as will consuming excessive amounts of alcohol.

I have used marijuana to alleviate symptoms from migraines with many less side effects than any of the legal medications prescribed to me by physicians.

BTW, I am gainfully employed (full time, not sitting on my couch staring into space all day) and a college graduate (3.2/4.0 GPA). I am also known among family and friends as having an exceptional memory.

Biological systems are ALL different and reaction to any substance will be varied.
