I've read through about 8 pages of these replies, and I'm happy to say I do feel a little bit better about it now. Unfortunately though I still feel very self concious when it comes to removing clothes from my bottom half, some times the knickers im wearing don't do me any justice (camel toe) and when I take my knickers off it just feels so ugly! I'm definitely considering surgery, My partner tells me there's nothing wrong with it, however I have caught him watching porn before which I'm sorry guys, but I don't like. Don't get me wrong, everybody tells me I have an amazing body and I agree, it's just I hate my lips :( I've never liked them, I'm 24 now and I was teased for 3 years by my ex about the way it looks, saying it's baggy ect. I just don't think I'll ever be happy with them :(

I think the issue is that your ex abused you. Yes, treating you that way and destroying your body image is definitely abuse. I hope you will seek counselling to deal with the trauma you have endured, and to help you get some perspective. I think you have some distorted thinking going on, and you definitely do not want to consider surgery when you have this distortion in your thinking.

For example, how does your bf looking at porn have anything to do with the size of your lips? Many of us look at porn, and for sure it's not to see mutilated genitals, in my case!

Please look carefully into what is causing your feelings, because this is something you can't reverse. Losing sensation during sex and maybe having issues in childbirth are a big price to pay to look like a porn star.

As many people have mentioned in this post, It's the fact that you never see porn stars with this kind of problem, they all seem to be so neat and pretty, hence me feeling like mine isn't normal if this kind of thing isn't commercialised as much. Yo find a woman with this shape of vagina you have to specifically search for it, whereas the nice looking once feature in everything.

I don't feel comfortable wearing a bikini on holiday as I feel like everyone can see the shape of it! So sorry, but counselling will not change the way I look at myself, nor will it change the ignorance of the world that has been destroyed by media - Men growing up now have a certain image imprinted in their minds, I haven't come across a single male that doesn't believe an appearance that resembles mine is due to over use, or having lots of sex.

Your right with the abuse thing, it was mental and physical, however, I had this feeling before I met him, I've had it ever since my body started to change.

Dear Worried, You may see a lot of women with the "lipless" appearance on porn, but 99.99999% of men that have had sex with actual human beings will have seen only natural lips in the real world. I could go on and on about what men really prefer, but that's not the point. The point is that you are feeling like you must have this mutilating surgery to be pleasing to a man, even in the face of dozens of men who say they prefer natural women, and your bf who says he doesn't care either way. I wish I could have a talk to your bf about what he will be losing as well if you have the surgery, I have no doubt he'd wake up and be more supportive. I still stand on counselling before you go through with this drastic and irreversible surgery. I think counselling before such surgery should be mandatory anyway. As someone who has been through abuse and therapy, I can tell you that I said the same thing as you, that I always thought this way. However, I came to realize that, although I did have certain thoughts before the abuse, these thoughts came to overwhelm my life only after the abuse happened. I feel that it may be the same for you. Before the abuser came into your life, you may have had normal doubts about your appearance, "Am I normal? Will a man react negatively when he sees me?" I think most women feel that way at some point. You should watch "The vagina monologues. Now, after being abused, these thoughts have become a poison in your life that you are hoping surgery will be the solution to. I fear that surgery will not heal the wounds that this man has left in your heart. (((hugs))) I hope that whatever you decide, that you will find healing and happiness.

A vagina without lips is kind of wierd, it looks like the girl hasn't gone through puberty yet.  My ex was like that, the sex was good but giving oral was really boring and un-appealing.
