I just started bleeding after not having a period in over 3 years
They insert mirena iud into ladies on their period when you haven't met criteria of having a child, as I haven't had any babies and had to have this procedure, I had to attempt 3 different times before it was a success. They cut my cervix andcut the inside wall too. I have never been the same. I'm nearing 25 and feel like my body is that of a teenager still as it has no idea what to do with itself. Very very painful and has only brought more tears and pain. Be aware ladies

Thanks for noting this... I feel the same, best thing i ever done was getting mine, after 5 kids & super heavy periods for almost 15yrs i had to do something!! Have been period free for 3yrs then the last 3 months i started heavy spotting progressing into bleeds longer than 3 days each so was thinking maybe time for me to change mine too!
You're not supposed to have it in for more than 5 years! - from what I've heard.. But I've had mine in for about 3 years, and I've been getting bleeding (just a little thought the day, not hugely concerning, but today I woke up and I felt about a tbsp seep out) I am concerned at this point, my concerning started about a week and a half ago when I had some intense intercourse with my partner, and my uteris hurt SO much! I had blood all over my thighs and the pain started going away the day after, and ever since I've been having to wear panty liners. BUT.. My huge concern lies with pregnancy.. I've been having a feeling that I am, and every time I do a tarot reading for myself I get the fertility card. I really hope that I'm not pregnant. Crossing my fingers for that! But I'm meeting up with my friend today, and she is going to do a tarot reading for me. In the mean time I think it's best that I don't put anything off for too long, (seriously been putting off making an appointment) so I will call and make one.
I will post what happens, and I instruct that you all get a check up, and possibly just get it removed. I have been on edge about the topic since I got it put in, hell since I ever heard my mom bring up this devical concoction.

I have had the iud good for ten years after my daughter was born I have had a normal period I had one in October but for the month of November I have not had a period and I still don't have one I have had normal periods since I have had it i took a test and it came back negative but still no period had horrible stomach pain a couple days ago but nothing since then not sure what too do

I notice it has been a year since you've posted about your concerns. I am wondering how it played out for you and if it was anything serious?
I ask because for the past 3 months I have had pains in my lower left side (left ovary area) that first started bugging me when I would lay on my stomach or back when I went to bed. The pain is not persistent and comes and goes.
Along with this, I have started to get lots of cramping, which I have never really had even before the mirena with natural periods.
And with this cramping there has been blood.
I am not sure if this is the hormones or not making me bleed again, or the fact that I have had the mirena in for 3 years and there is some built up wall shedding.. idk!
I am just scared about the left side pain because I had an ultra sound and they said everything was fine, yet the pain continues,,,

I have had an iud for three years but this month i have had two periods isthis normal
I've had this problem lately but the bleeding has now lasted 8 days. I went to my doctor and she did some tests and said all she can think of is that after a certain amount of time the two main things that an IUD does (stop period and contraception) turns into one and so I will start getting my period regularly but am still safe from pregnancy. However this was at 4 days of bleeding, not eight.
I have had my Mirena for 7 yrs with no period now all of a sudden I get a period with Terrible cramps. I'm hoping I'm not pregnant and miscarried. Going to see my doctor to check. The period is not lime it was before the IUD. Really worried

Omg..I'm like experiencing everything you women are and it's scary because I just got my IUD put in..In October 2016 I haven't had a period but whenever I was supposed to get my period I got really bad cramps and just recently I was cramping in the lower abdomen and went to the washroom just realizing I'm bleeding
I've had mine for 4 years with no periods. Hit the 4 year mark and just started with a heavy flow.

Now my bleeding won't stop, its not heavy but enough to wear a pad. Being feeling really drained been doctors just waiting on results.
I do have polycystic ovarian syndrome which doesn't help and high bp, but since I've been bleeding my bp is normal can anyone help with this.
