I've been experiencing very similar to some of you for a few years now, I first assumed it was down to supplements or protein powders (I'm a natural bodybuilder) but even when I cut everything out I still have aches and pains first thing in the morning. I don't vomit usually but I've always have dodgy trips to the toilet early in the morning and throughout until after lunch but by then the pain subsides.
I've been given Omeprazole and it seems to work quite well, I went through a phase of suffering acute agony in the early hours of the morning or going to bed feeling as I did when I woke up and the pain got so bad I couldn't sleep and progressed to the stages of needing to go to the hospital. These were the times I did vomit and however unpleasant remembering it can be I do know it tasted like battery acid and like nothing that should be help within your body.
I'm no doctor but I think it could be simple high acidity and as a result irritation to the lining of the stomach. I'm tried Alka Seltzers when the pain has been really bad and somehow managed to sleep after, I don't like treating the symptom rather than the cause but when you have no idea what the caussse is you start feeling desperate.

I tend to force myself to eat, being a bodybuilder means I need a minimum amount of calories so I suffer through. I'm white British, 5"8 and currently 79/80kg and my weight usually increases up to 90kg when I 'bulk'. The weird thing is junk food doesn't seem to give me any issues either when I eat it (which is extremely rare) or after and I can eat a large pizza in half the time it takes me to eat a small portion of couscous. My diet consists of oats, couscous, tuna, chicken etc with powders thrown in to help me reach my macros. I tried eating wheatgerm recently as a replacement to my mass gainer (besides healthy fats it contained the same macros) but it lead to serious digestive problems I'm assuming because of the insoluble fibre and as a result I ended up experiencing anxiety attacks.

Cause: high acidity and damage to the wall of the stomach, possibly from the food we are (or are not) eating or high levels of stress.
Cure: anti aid medication such as Omeprazole or OTC medications such as Alka Seltzers

That's just my impression going by personal experience and having doctor after doctor tell me they have no idea what's wrong. Hope this helps someone.

I have the same problem as all of you. I've been battling it for years. It seems to get worse if I get under even the tiniest stress. Because of this problem my weight goes up and down. I had h. Pylori over a month ago and it took me a month to recover. I go in for my second endoscopy at the end of this month. I have ulcers and it seems like I can go awhile, once they heal, with eatting what I want. I gain weight and than the stomach pain starts in the morning. Only way I can get rid of it is to get up and move around. After a while of the stomach pains in the morning, I start to get to the point where I can't eat. Which is a catch 22 for me cause I loose weight fast and it makes me very Ill. All I know is I am sick of it and just like you it has ruined my life. You all are in my prayers and wish none of us had to go thru this.

I used to have stomach pains in the morning if I woke up early.  I figured out that it was from eating late in the night.  That was it as soon as I stopped eating anything after 8:00pm the pains in the morning stopped.  Of course, this isn't the cause for everyone but it's worth a shot.

Feeling the same way and to tell you the truth its scaring the heck out of me. I'm 56 and raising my 4 year old grandson and worried that something major is wrong with me. The extremely bad part is that I can't have any test taken cause I no longer have health insurance and won't just walk into a hospital knowing that I can't afford it. What does one do now? If anyone at all have these symptoms and has managed to find out the problem please let the rest of us know so that we can at least have a beginning point to try and stop this horrible feeling in the pit of our stomachs. Thank you

God I swear i was the only person with all of this. I am 20 years old and 160 lbs about 5'6. I have had probs with weight for a long time and now since november a weeek before thanksgiving, I got what I thought was food poising... but food poisoning goes away.... this never did. I dropped 20 lbs almost immediately. I couldnt hold down water, food, NOTHING. So i went to the hospital ( desperate obviously bc i have no insurance ) and they hooked me up to fluids bc i had nothing in my body. So i was there for about four hours. The docotor thought it had something to do w/ my vagina or something so he checked that and it was fine. But he told me i had vaginitis but as soon as i heard that I thought it was a joke. THIS IS MY STOMACH. He touched and poked at my stomach and he got no results but STILL I get up every morning since then with terrible pains. I can't eat and if i see or try to eat food I throw up or feel like i'm going too. Then I spend about an hour on an off going to the bathroom. Never pleasent because my bowel movements are no longer normal, ever.

Finally I went to the doctors and he said I have anxiety problems ( which i do ) and he put me on an off brand of zoloft. I noticed a slight different because it dramatically calmed me down but just not w/ my stomach. Lately I stopped taking it because my doctor moved to florida ( he was at a clinic for people w/o insurance ) so now i need to find a new doctor. My old doctor said i needed an colonoscopy but since i dont have insurance its gonna be pricey. Finally before he left he said I had IBS, but I never thought IBS was this severe.

I've tried a lot of things. Including yoga and eating healthier. Also I have tried all the good bacterias and all that c**p, but nothing natural seems to work for me. The only thing I have found so far that actually helps is well marijuana. The sad part is people automatically assume i'm making that up, but I am not. Marijuana is the only thing that has kept me sane and the only thing that has kept my stomach full. Unfortunately I live in DE and medical isn't available till i believe 2014 ( not sure on that ) but untill then I just need to hope that I don't get busted for it because without it, i will fall apart ! not to mention i probably wont even be eligible to recieve medical even though it's proven to be the only thing that helps me.

What is person supposed to do with limited funds and no health insurance :( I am only 20 years old ! I DO NOT want to live like this forever!

omg KatNoe I completely understand. I'm 22 and also have no insurance.

about a year or so ago, I got a really bad bladder infection that went into my kidney's. After that, for about 4 months, I had extreme abdominal pains and I threw up absolutely every day, sometimes more then once. I lost 40 pounds. The ER could never find anything (besides the occasional cyst) and I could never do anything about it until it inexplicably disappeared one day.

Then earlier this year I started waking up with lower abdominal pain and nausea. At first it was ok and I could work through it, but it was starting to effect my job and my life. by the second month of this, it got SO bad that I had to quit my job because I couldn't focus nor sit there long enough to do it. There was just too much pain. It is now into the 6th month of this and I'm practically bed bound and can't do anything productive. My family is really intense about this because no one can find anything wrong and they think I'm making it up to get out of having to work; so they're no help.

Every morning when I wake up (it's usually around 9am and that's my body FORCING me to wake up) there's a minute where I try to fall back to sleep to avoid what I know is about to happen and then it starts. It's kind of like an ache and a throbbing at the same time in my lower abdomen that turns into weird cramps. I roll on the bed, holding my abdomen and crying out but there's nothing for it. I have to get up. I nearly pass out when I stand up and nearly pass out all the way to the bathroom where I have to release my bladder and have to HAVE TO have a bowel movement. That only makes it hurt worse (but it would hurt even worse then that if I didn't)

The only thing I've found that even remotely helps is weed.

I have been reading this thread for about an hour now trying to find a solution to my problem. It seems like my stomach issue is very similar to the pains you guys have been experiencing. I am a teenager, 5'1", and 90 pounds, a bit underweight like some of you. Lately I've been waking up to an acidy feeling in my stomach, i normally wake up around 7. At about 7:30 or 8, my stomach ache moves to my lower intestines and makes me have mild diarhhea(i have no idea how to spell that... sorry) I have always assumed it's anxiety because I have had serious anxiety problems since I was little. But lately it has been affecting me more in the afternoon as well, so I wanted to see if I could find a solution. I will feel fine one minute, acidy the next, and have diarrhea another. Recently it has been bothering me enough that I've had to come home from school. I have never vomited because of it, but constantly feel like I need too. Anyone else have a similar problem?

My daughter has been complaining of the same complaints as all of you and she tells me it's worse in Spring and winter (Australia). She also says the lunchtime is her favorite time of day cause she feels no sickness. This has been going on since she was 2 or 3 yrs old and now she is 7. I would love to know what I could do to help her not go through this anymore. Please help someone.

I've been reading this thread with great interest, because I'm too suffering from much the same problems. I'm 29 yrs old, female, 5'10, 120 lbs which I think makes me underweight. I suffer from severe stomach cramps and nausea in the mornings and nothing I do has made any difference in over 20 years?! I'm currently being woken a lot in the night by my daughter which is making it worse, within a few minutes of getting up to see to her it's excruciating, I literally have to bend double, I then find it really hard to get back to sleep as its so painful. Upon waking its either just as painful or intermittent cramping and always extreme nausea which usually relents somewhere around lunch time. I dont always have diarrhoea even when it's a really bad morning but I do more often than not. My stomach pains and nausea usually return in the evenings too. I have definitely noticed its far worse if I eat foods high in fat, eat late at night or consume a lot of dairy products. I'm really fed up of having this problem, it's miserable. Ive consulted many doctors and specialists over the last 10 years and nothing could really be found, a few possibilities that they gave me were stress/anxiety (the longer this goes on the more convinced I become this may be a distinct possibility) a stomach ulcer (I took the treatment, no improvement, although tested neg for h.pylori) IBS, food allergy or sensitivity? Please keep this thread going and let us know if anyone comes across a cure, I for one would really like to jump out of bed with a spring in my step! Not sure if I will allow me to publish my email address but if anyone wants to get in touch, compare symptoms it's

I've been having intense stomach aches and diarrhea in the morning for about two weeks now. No nausea or vomiting...yet.  But the thing is, after about 30 mins to an hour I am completely fine for the rest of day. I've also noticed the earlier I wake up, the worst I feel. Yesterday I woke up at 11:00am and I felt fine. Today I woke up at 8:30am and felt horrible. At first I thought it was due to my poor eating habits but I've been eating better now and there is no change. In fact, I woke up this morning with the worse abdominal pain I've felt to date followed by diarrhea. It actually kinda feels like cramps except I'm not on my period. I'm 21 years old, 5'6 and 106 pounds. I have a fast metabolism and haven't lost any weight since the stomach pains began but I'm starting to worry. I will try not to eat anything after 8 or 9pm from now on. If that doesn't make a difference I will definitely be taking a trip to the doctor's office.

I had discomfort and pain in my left lower abdomen for about two years. Wake up every day feeling awful, almost like a hangover, no energy and on the verge of vomiting. I thought it was simply just the foods i was eating. This week I had bad pain in that area. Thought it was constipation, and did all the over the counter stuff you'd think to try. There was no relief. I went into the walk-in clinic and they sent me to the hospital. Aftewr some tests and a CT scan I was diagnosed with Diverticulitis. The place I work has just been notified by OSHA about a complaint about mold. I am now wondering if this is related to my health issues. I also began to get anxiety, headaches, loss of energy and loss of concentration.

Your symptoms are very similar to my son's, including the mouth ulcers. It has been year since you posted this, and was wondering if you ever got any answers to your problem.

Thank you
