I am 5'4 who weighs only 95lbs. I have two kids.. Both pregnancies gained between 40-50 lbs and felt the best no nasea nothing. Very weird.... After both pregnancies and still weigh back to 95lbs. Some of us our metabolism is so fast that it's only normal to wake up to an empty stomach and eventually that within years becomes a problem....
same problem as you all, waking up to stomach ache for all of high school until a while after I force down a meal. The pain usually comes back so i gotta eat every couple of hours no matter the size (half a choclate bar) Ive found that the herb works well but dont have the money to use everyday
Exactly! I'm 19, Female, 5'3, and 103 lbs; Waking up earlier than naturally causes my stomach pains too. I know eating some food helps but the thought of eating with the pain is sickening. I find the pain subsides faster if I bite the bullet and choke down a bowl of bran cereal (I eat Great Grains Raisins, Dates, and Pecans Cereal). I also feel like my underweight condition is caused by my fast metabolism (I am a dancer and train for around 2-3 hours a day). In the afternoon my pain has subsided, but occasionally returns in the early evening around 4 to 5 pm. It's hard when I don't eat in the morning to allow the sickness to leave because I don't want to exert myself in dance on an empty stomach, pass out, and end up with some dumb psych eval about eating disorders! It's all very frustrating. Sometimes in the evening the pain comes even after I've eaten a late lunch, but I am not able to eat again because I am not hungry yet.
Hey guys, I as well am another sufferer of morning stomach pains -- mine is more of a constant throwing up feeling rather than a sharp pain. I am 23, 6'2" and 160 lbs and have been dealing with this on and off for two years (lately it has flared up the past 3 months).
Funny enough, I am a marijuana user like most of you. More importantly, I have gastrointestinal problems in my family, mainly acid reflux and indigestion. Because of this, here is what I think is going on: smoking causes phlegm build up, which is easy to clear when you're awake. When you're asleep the phlegm drains straight to your stomach, which causes the stomach irritation (just like any other cold or virus that causes congestion and drainage). Over the past year I have increased my marijuana smoking, and coincidentally the morning pains have gotten worse.
My mother almost exclusively uses homeopathic remedies, so she gave me a probiotic pill to try out. The pill is a natural form of an acid controller that balances your stomach acids, not fight them like prilosec. The pills are called "gr8-dophilus" and contains live organisms just like yogurt or any other live culture would have, except it contains 8 strains of these organisms and a potent 4-11 billion count. The idea here is that if you can balance your digestive system, the pains will cease. Since this is a natural remedy, I'm assuming this solution will take a long time to kick in -- but I'm giving it a try and I hope others look into this solution.
I have blamed my morning stomach pains on mold issues, diet, etc. and have recently seen a doctor about it. If my new remedy does not help, I will probably quit smoking marijuana (perhaps try vaporizing first) and then see a gastro specialist. Good luck guys, I know how difficult it is to start your day this way, and I hope this might help some of you. Peace and love.
See my post below, try a natural solution using a probiotic pill. This is the most basic remedy, which literally balances your digestive system rather than fighting it, or masking the effects. It might take a while, but clearly everyone here is looking for a long term solution, not a quick "advil" type fix. This might be the long term solution for you and it's worth a shot being natural and healthy for your immune system as well.
5'11" 190 LBS (SAME PROBLEM) I wake up then i instantly get unbearable pain the second I am standing up. So I rin to the bathroom thinking it's just "the bathroom calling" but it's not. the pain doesn't stop until I make myself vomit and then take a shower... Water goes off, so does the pain.
I have had a lot of people sending me e-mail about this. I can happily report that yes, I got rid of this problem. However, there was no doctor involved this and I did not get diagnosed with anything. What helped me was to quit eating bread and in general anything with flour or "long carbs" after 6 PM or so.
I still eat bread during the day sometimes but not so much. I did not try this on purpose by the way but stumbled into this solution during the lent before easter when I was fasting last year.
Now I am mostly symptom free but still get these pains if I:
- drink beer (at night)- drink strong alcohol- eat bread at night - eat a lot late at night - eat any citrus fruit or drink juices - drink carbohydrated drinks
As a rule of thumb I try to go without food at least 3-4 hours before going to sleep. If I need to take a snack, I try to choose stuff like a piece of cheese or some meat. I also got melatonine to help me get to sleep and beta blockers to "take the edge off".
I think that anyone with these symptoms should try a gluten free diet (it might be celiac disease) or at least skipping foods with gluten for a couple of hours before getting to bed.
To those wondering why eating food sometimes makes it better. If there is an infection or too much "action" in your stomach putting food in there might "dilute" the contents of the stomach making it hurt much less.
This is my theory. I hope this helps someone.
I wake up every morning with this deep dull ache, like a cramping almost....like a burning sensation.....tummy makes alot of noise.....when i go to eat something to try and get it to go away i want to vomit and sometimes i do.... alot of times i do... so i dont usually want or desire to eat until later in the day cause my tummy hurts go bad. its literally gut wrenching...been to stomach doctor and i was told that i have irritable bowel syndrome.... i take prilosec and have taken ranitidine and nothing helps, not even smoking my medical marijuana...nothing eases this gut wrenching pain that has stricken.... i have lost almost 60 punds in a years time.. mind you no exercise at all.. just barely eating in early part of day but i will eat in the later part of the day.....i look like i am fading, wasting away..... in a years time i look like ive aged quite a bit. I dont know what else to anymore... this is no way to live... pain everyday i cant take it anymore.....HELP
Hi,
I have a similar problem too especially if I sleep on a full stomach. I think the issue may be related to the fact that I sleep on my stomach rather than on my back. I wonder if that theme is common with the others who have the same problem. I also wonder if anyone has tried tilting the bed so the reflux is less.
