Girls are not growing at 16.
Had to reply - even though this has been a while. There's no such thing as "growing pains." I heard that in my teens as well and was eventually diagnosed with a muscle disease. This isn't normal for teenagers!
I'm not sure that the hypermobility was a contributing factor in the problems I was having...although it might very well have been. I only found out about the hypermobility because I was sent to physical therapy to try to alleviate the pain. The therapy didn't help any and I went six weeks of it twice a week. However, I have a screwed up autonomic nervous system as well from Diabetes. I'm not overweight at all and the doctors ruled out the condition causing any of my issues. A lot of what I saw in my research led me to believe that this could be why I was more sensitive then others. During my 3 years of having these problems, my sugar numbers were off the charts and the doctors prescribed me large doses of insulin to combat the levels without much success. Now, after removing myself from the office, my numbers have come back down to previous levels and I've gone back on small doses of oral med. Whether it was the pain and stress caused by the nervous system reaction or the contaminent itself, we don't know.
On the part about your house and the sealing it....I hope that works for you. I found when I was dealing with it and even now, my symptoms would trigger just by being around someone that had been in mold. I've found it gets trapped in fabric like clothes and I would react to people coming from moldy places. In the end of my time at the office in question, I would leave the office as soon as possible after arriving, drive to a different building and strip off my clothes and towel off with paper towels including washing my hair (I have really short hair). I would dress in clean clothes that I brought and bag the ones that had been in the office and seal it to wash at home. This proved to be very effective for me and made quite a difference. If it is truly coming from inside your house and your house has been open so far, it may have made it's way into the fabrics of the other floors. To truly test the theory of where it's coming from, could you live in a hotel room for a couple weeks? I know this is expensive, but it would give you an idea on whether it is coming from your home or not. If you could do that....make sure you wash everything you take with you at a different laundry and don't return to your house for that period.
Hello hon, I have muscle stiffness like you do in the morning, but I am now 52. My fear is not Fibromyalgia--I've watched the commercials for Lyrica (I think)...about "deep pain in the muscles." I do have this, which worries me. It is still rare, but it happens. The deep pulsating pain is usually in my shoulders/back, and so far, so good--it goes away. But you seem so young, so I just wanted to say 1)magnesium OTC helps in copious amounts and 2)check any medications you are taking--so many of them cause muscle stiffness, which can become permanent.
i agree with heidi , i have fibromalgia 3 years now it took docs over a year to diagnoise me , and every test you can think of came back negitive . its excatly what she says but also you get irratible, mood swings, i stopped all my medication and only take a half of ucerix tablet at night only if i cant relax my muscels by doing relaxion . its a very hard thing to accept fibromalgia because you keep thinking theres something else wrong and still blood tests and scans come back negitive . but when you do accept it and go along with it its much easier because right away the stress from worrying stops
A couple of thoughts...one is if you are a diabetic, you could have neuropothy, nerve damage that makes your feet ache all the time. The other thought is a lack of vitamin D...I've heard it over and over, that when you have joint pain, Fibromyalgia, and the like...take D. I have one other suggestion...I have been on a diet for a year. I have diabetes, neuropothy, and used to not feel my hands or feet and couldn't go up stairs or down, even step up on a curb. Ive been using a shake replacement for weight loss that's very healthy, and my body has changed dramatically. I'm off insulin, my blood work is dead on, and I am getting feeling back in my feet, although now I feel aches more than before. I didn't get on this reply to sell the stuff or promote it, but while here, thought of it...stuff is pretty great.

And remember the vitamin D!

what could i do to stop the aches and i also get headaches often
I have been experiencing similar symptoms for about 3 years now. I go to sleep, and no matter which bed/surface I sleep on, after a few minutes I get stiff/sore, and can never get comfortable. Have tried just about every mattress available, finally gave up on that and have been doing trials of various natural sleep aids (melatonin, valerian, magnolia, GABA, passionflower, to name a few) as well as seeing a natropath & chiropractor. Nothing seems to help. Painkillers temporarily relieve the pain, but it always comes back worse, and I don't like taking alot of painkillers anyway. I am 24 years old, and a very active person (drummer, triathlon athlete, soccer player, etc). But this condition, whatever it is,(fibromyalgia?) makes what I can do very limited to my bodies behavior and affects my energy level dramatically.
Not that I'm trying to throw a pity party. Honestly I'm the only one I've ever known with these symptom, and it's somehow comforting to me to know that there are other people struggling with the same types of things. While I have not found any "cures", I have found that drinking too much caffeine or alcohol has a negative affect, and makes me more likely to be stressed out/sleep poorly. Good luck in your pursuit for less pain! -Ryan
Guest - Can you think of something that happened to change your environment approximately 6 months before your symptoms developed. In my case it was a flood at my office. That, in turn, created toxins in the air that 6 months later created my symptoms. Did you move? Did you change jobs/offices? Could you possibly have had a moisture problem in either place you spend time in? Did you start going to a certain gym everyday around that time? I know it sounds far-fetched, but it happened to me and other people I know. Tiredness, sore muscles, depression, sleep interuptions and many other things that don't seem to be related. The toxins in the air can actually cause nervous system issues....which, in turn causes problems with muscles and the brain.
That is a good point SfnD, I really haven't really been thinking about an exterior/enviromental factor as the cause of pain until just recently. The natropath I'm seeing asked a few similar questions, but hers were more about traumatic experiences and/or being around chemicals, eating wrong, etc. The only real changes I can think of that line up are that I started working in landscaping full time and was using quite a bit of chemicals herbicides around the time of my sleep/pain problems. My natropath suggested I stop using those, and try to "detox" my system. I have been doing this for about 3 weeks using some supplements she recommended (& no longer using herbicides). Have not noticed any change yet. Also around the same time, mount Kilauea erupted (I live in Hawaii), and has been emitting "vog" throughout the island. Wondering if this could have a correlation... I've also moved once, and changed jobs a few times, but never thought much about those being factors because it was all in close proximity to each other. Perhaps, if nothing else works, a move or stay somewhere else wouldn't be a bad thing for me to try. Thank you for your input!

I have two words for you my friend,, Rheumatoid Arthritis, possibly severe,,stiffness in the morning for about .30 to 45 min is what usually gives it up..talk to your doctor for him to arrange a consultation with a Rhumi..
It can not be diagnosed with blood test,,only a specialist can provide you with the help you seek.
I have been fighting severe RA for 15 years no ,,there are good days (remissions) and very bad days (flares)
It's a severe condition,a life changing one,but like any other auto-immune diseases it can be treated,,not cured..
Fibromyalgia is not as severe as some will tend to say,,
take good care,,rest and apply heat on your inflammatory aches.
Good luck contact me if you need more info,,always willing to help.
so what did you do or find out my wife is the same way and i cant stand to see her cry every morning
