My son just recently got over being very sick with a high fever. Since then his hands and feet have been peeling. With him being only 6 years old, he doesn't understand why he cannot pick at the fleshy pieces that are sticking off and aggravating him. What do you think is wrong that his skin is peeling off so badly? The skin that is under what has peeled off is extremely dry, scaley, and rough. I have tried moisterizers and everything! Any help?!?

what did you do for the peeling
My daughter is going through the same thing. She is 3 years old and I took her to the doctor on base and he said that it's related to her allergies and asthma. To moisturize and cover with socks and gloves. Also to take her a bath every other day because the water is washing away to many of the skins natural oils
check for merury poisoning!!!
My son has had this problem for many years. I tried so many different things and nothing seemed to help. Recently, i was reading articles on Apple Cider Vinegar and decided to try it. Boy am i glad i did! With two applications it was almost 100% gone. I can finally see soft pink feet again.
My sons hands and feet recently started to peel. I was very concerned and did lots of research as well as saw a dr. What we think is the cause is that all of us in the family  myself and my other two children got strep about a month ago. This son never got it or so I thought. Now we believe that he may have gotten it and not had the sore throat or high fever. After an untreated strep infection your hands and feet can peel. It can go on for about weeks. No rash, no itching, no pain just peeling fingertips, palms and toes. We are on antibiotics and we will see what happens. Cold pressed, Organic, Coconut oil seems to help moisturize the hands and help with the peeling. Hope this helps someone. I was terrified thinking something aweful was happening to my boy.
Check into PRP. A dermatologist can diagnose it.
I have a 2 yrs old nephew. He had a rash from head to feet Had a fever of 102. the fever went away after medication so did the rash but a week later the plams of his hands, fingers and his feet started peeling. What is that and what can be used to treat this problem. Any answers will be greatly appreciated.

Hi - I know this post was over a year ago but did you ever confirm with your doctor what was going on? I have the same thing but doctors have no clue. Thanks!
My 9 year old son hands and feet have been peeling and the doctor said it is allergies but I am not sure.
Ask about Kawasaki disease it is an rare but can be deadly to children and it's unknown what causes it, look it up on google
Thank you very for sharing EPADERM, I will try, my 6 year old son is having peeling hands and feet skin now after high fever with red spots.
My daughter had kawasaki and she is haft japanese this is not it. Kawasaki come with extremely high fever plus strawberry togue, red swollen lips, red rash over the body included hands and feet also wont eat srg cant eat and after abut 5days without kawasaki treatment your child will have about 20percent chance of getting an heart attack because the longer it takes to get treatment the more chance your child has of growning ahole in his or her heart. So if you do not know what you are talking about be silent.
NEVER give a child Aspirin. If they have a virus and you give them Aspirin they can get Reyes Syndrome. That is WORSE than Kawasakis.
