I had the nova sure procedure on 8/22/12 and now I have been bleeding for 6 day.I have been to the obgyn twice this week for relief of severe pain on the right side of the abdominal area.I was given the depovera shot which I think don't work. Now I'm taking this new med called LYSTEDA .I take 2 tabs 3 times a day for 5 day.I have had relief from the pain and the bleeding is slowly decreasing.I think Nova Sure did not work.I seem to made my situation worst than before. No more practicing for me with these Doctors. No body knows your body better than you. See if this medication can work for you.Good luck!

Hi. I was scheduled for Novasure ablation next week, but cancelled today and my doctor even called me to chew me out about it. I was mortified. I bleed heavily to the point of anemia, but usually no pain. I am going to a blood doctor to see about any blood disorders in the meantime. This summer with the doc I just mentioned, I had two procedures.. First was a biopsy to remove a lot of uterine polyps and then the myosure to remove the polps three weeks ago. The problem is that I scehduled the novasure because my period came back 19 days after the myosure (polyps removal), and it was extremely heavy again. I mentioned Von Willebrands disease because I have many symptoms of it and have had the heavy bleeding since age 14. That was when we decided on the novasure and the blood doc for tests. But, then I found this forum and many others with women complaining about the same problems months and years after the ablations saying they have all this horrible back, leg, and uterine pains and IBS issues..So many people on these posts are saying the same thing that is amazes me. I have thought of novasure for a while, but the thought of actually burning part of your body and then leaving it in there seems inhumane and medically scary. So, I need feedback from all of you if you think I am doing the right thing. My biopsy was benign, so I don't have cancer...worse case scenario I have to control the anemia, deal with heavy periods while I enter menopause (quite a few years left), and stay healthy. What does anyone think? thanks.

Yes. Two years ago I had an ablasion for heavy period. For two years I hardly had a cycle. for the last 6 or 8 months I have had incrediable vaginal and abdominal pain. Now out of the blue, I have the heavy bleeding with clots, dibiliting abdominal and vaginal pain, nausea, and overall fatigue. I am 45 years old, been married 25 years and have 4 grown children. My doctor put me on the birth control pill. It did no good. I am beginning to think I made a mistake two years ago. No one told me about this pain and bleeding. Novasure was to be the cure all.

I had the Ablation procedure done o 8/13/2012, I must say that for the most part I have truly enjoyed the results. That is until today, i was making dinner for my family and got he worst pain ever from the pelvis area up into the vagina into the birth canal. I am not happy with this and i can only hope that it is only brief . However, from the stories that i have read on this forum , I am starting to get a little nervous. I thank all of the persons that have voiced up on here and I have a more to tell my GYN if I have to go in for this God awful pain.

Oh My goodness. I'm so happy I read your post. Now I know Im not going crazy.. I had the nova-sure procedure in DEC. of 09 . before that I had lost forty pounds. and I even asked my ob if it would cause weight gain and she said no cause they arent messing with my hormones. Well im so sad today cause ive gained it all back and havent changed eating habits. I just cant seem to get the scale to move. The pain in my lower side hurts so bad and radiates to my lower back. I went to my ob/gyn and had an ultrasound. but said all was fine. No help. Im glad I had it done but if I had a choice again Id really really think it over. I love not having to have a period , but the weight gain is a pain, The Dr. wont believe its from the procedure.

I just had a fractional D&C & EA this last thurs. Nov 8th. Its the 14th rt now...& geez... O.o ... The 1st day I was just crampy & sore. Then sat & sun I started to feel a little better...still had some pulsating pain in my pelvic/hip area, but nothing like I have had these months prior, constant stabbing achy pain 2wks leading up to my period & then thru it...So I was like, ok. This is good. I have had some women say they were rt back to normal a day or two later, so I kinda felt like I needed to stop being such a wimp (I actually have a HIGH threshold for pain...in fact with my 2nd child the hospital sent me home even 3cm dialated because I didnt appear to be in enough pain...I went to my ob 1hr later for a checkup & she YELLED for me to go DIRECTLY to the hospital becaue I was 5cm dialated...). So I have been trying to bare thru it & carry on with regular life (I dont like slow speed or ppl helping...) But mon, my hips starting hurting (achy)...& then it traveled up to my lower back. My front lower abdomen still is a little tender to the touch, but oh, my, GOD! My back is killing me. Its like the constant ache of back labor....So now what? It doesnt seem like anyone here ever got any real answers, just a lot of unnecessary colonoscopies & other random tests, or suggestion to get a hysterectomy. I dont think I can live like this though...Any one have any insight?

what did your doctor say? I had Novasure a little over a year ago and recently, the cramps have become crazy painful. The periods don't come around as often as before but when they do...nothing works.

I had the novasure ablation done April 2012, did well during and after procedure. No more periods or pain since May,

all of a sudden last two months, having horrible pain lower pelvic area, such horrible pain, not only stabbing pain, in front but also in my back thinking i was having a kidney stone attack. Since it is happening again this month thinking it has to do with the ablation.

Pain has been so bad i considered going to the ER to be checked out, feels like i should be bleeding and keep checking to see if iam  or not, feel bloated and having bowel trouble and frequent urination, but nothing makes me feel better.

Taking Rx 800 mg of Motrin and taking two at a time to make pain go away!! Guess its time to see the gyne and see whats going on!

I had Novasure january 2010. The pain in my pelvic region is unbearable. I sometimes have pain with my bowel movements which i suspect is from scar tissue and I leak urine. I am 39 years old and have been told the only solution is a hysterectomy. I wish I could go back in time because I would gladly take the heavy bleeding over debilitating cramps.

I too am experiencing excruciating pain in my lower back, right side...like a stabbing, burning sensation.I had the Novasure procedure in June 2012 and this is the firs time I have had such unbearable pain.

With all your experiences, would you say it's cycle related and should it pass in a few days? This is my third day feeling like this and really don't want to go into A&E if they're going to send me back home.I'm self employed and can't afford unnecessary time in hospital :(

Thought I'd do a quick update to my original post. It's been a long two years. The pain did subside, along with the return of my periods. Well, I guess I shouldn't say "periods" because they were really the opposite - three weeks of bleeding and spotting, then one week off - every month. The OBGYN offered birth control, but those things make me crazy, so I declined and dealt with it as long as I could.

The golf-ball sized fibroid grew to 10cm and I felt like I was 4 months pregnant all the time, with it laying on my bladder. Between the terrible PMS, the almost incessant bleeding, feeling pregnant when I wasn't, almost 50 pound weight gain and complete loss of libido, I'd had it by the end of 2012.

I took the hysterectomy route and am 3 weeks post-op as I type. I had a total abdominal hysterectomy, but was able to keep my ovaries. Cervix had to go because I've had too many abnormal paps; it was safer just to take it.

Even though I still have some incision pain and the usual odd, cold/numb feeling above the incision, I can honestly say it was the best thing I ever did. I FEEL GREAT for the first time in years! I've lost 10 pounds since my surgery, even though they said I probably wouldn't lose any and I haven't even done anything, being in recuperation. I can't wait to see how that continues after I'm cleared for exercise! I also have my libido back, not that I'm allowed to take it out for a spin yet. lol
